Hey! Give the Ms some credit. We don’t have the longest playoff drought in the MLB. We’ve got the longest playoff drought in major North American sports!
Kyle Lewis was doing a solid Kid impression when he came up in Sept. He had like 3 HR in his first 4 or 5 AB if I recall. Ridiculous talent. Also, it's the longest playoff drought IN NORTH AMERICAN SPORTS.
Thank you for making this video. M's don't get a lot of attention from mainstream MLB youtubers. But what Dipoto's been building I think will get a lot of attention when it is complete. So thank you for talking about it early.
Julio Rodriguez, and George Kirby are the two who haven’t seen the majors yet that I’m most excited about. I think Harry Ford should move to second base and just focus on offense, he’s got the wheels and athleticism to stick there. Noelvi Marte is a stud. I like Hancock a lot and think he has star potential but I think George Kirby and his control combined with his diverse stuff could be even more special. DeLoach is also exciting but I’m an even bigger fan of Milkar Perez. We also have a whole bunch of arms who will at least be good bullpen guys and a bunch of 18-20 year old in field and outfield guys who project as at least average hitters. This farm system is fun to look at. I think I’m this years draft we should focus on getting a high level catching prospect but if we don’t find one we like them just keep drafting prep bats w offensive upside. It would be nice to see the next wave of talent continue to get built out because after we move up Kirby/Rodriguez/Hancock/a couple other bullpen type arms there aren’t gonna be spots left the team is already young
UA-cam brought me here 2 years later and it’s crazy to think about how far this team has come. Funny to look back and see that shed was seen as a long term piece. Also, J-rod has signed a contract basically making him a Mariner for life. Love it, love this team and I’m looking forward to contending for years to come with the core we have. All hail lord Dipoto
@Harry Engel how on earth can you even try to fathom how we would do in the playoffs? far to many variables to just assume. anything can happen in sports.
I said from the minute Kelenic’s name came up in those talks that we would regret it within a few years, even I didn’t realize how quick that would happen. I knew he was a star and I said “trade anyone else, make sure we keep Kelenic”. Watching his rise through the minors kills me every day, because all we heard from the minute they drafted him was that he had what it took to be the best guy to ever come out of the Mets system. It’s not like they didn’t know who they had, they just thought Diaz would be enough and they should’ve known his 2018 wasn’t repeatable. They shouldn’t have seen his 2019 coming, but they shouldn’t have relied on him being enough to take on Cano and trade away the best outfield prospect they’ve had since Strawberry packaged with their best pitching prospect at the time, all based on one fluke year.
Prescription Peddler Dunn was the highest ranked Mets pitching prospect at the time. I’m not going based on anything but official MLB Pipeline rankings
I still don't understand how people think this team is going to be good in 2021. Even has a Mariners fan I'm not high enough on this group to think they're going to be a contender until at least 2022
Outta Here Baseball I mean if he’s talking about the future being sad, he’s just gonna be eating his own foot down the road. Urinating Tree has already beat down on their past, so he’s either gonna be beating a dead horse or eating his words 🤷🏻♂️
I just wanna say I know your view count is low on your videos but NEVER CHANGE! you have amazing content and I’m binge watching it as we speak ! Keep going !
@Harry Engel Yep, they haven't been to the playoffs in my lifetime and I'm 17. Like I'm a huge Seahawks fan, and I want them to get another super bowl, but I think this would be even bigger, let alone simply, not so simply, just going to the playoffs. But I think they could be going places.
I've always liked the Mariners, had known about some of these prospects but it's good to see a video like this clearly explaining the situation. You should have way more subscribers my dude.

Huge fan of all your content! This video hd some great insight. Please do a video on the Marlins rebuild as well as the 2017-19 Cubs. The Cubs seemed to have a dynasty brewing, could you analyze what happened?
Should do a video on the Marlins rebuild. Similar starting point, with having shit contracts, $400 million in debt and the worst farm system when Jeter took over the team. Within 2 years, the Fish have a top 10 farm system with some really good pitching depth as well. Lots of optimism for M's and Fish fans
Thanks! And yeah I should have included the reds in that trade part. He essentially was traded to the yankees for sonny gray then immediately flipped to the mariners in the same day. But technically not a 3 team trade!
@@outtaherebaseball3205 yup. Also Jan of last year Dipoto signed Kikuchi, you missed that, but you didn't miss much bc he had a rough 2019 but he looks good so far this year.
Im not sure if anyone else has said this , but i’d be awesome to see a video on the drastic shake up of the giants farm system on how it was one of the worst and now could even have the next number one prospect in Marco Luciano.
I've been a Mariners fan my whole life. The last time they were in the playoffs I was 8. It's been painful to watch them continually fail in different ways each season. And then you look at what previous GMs have done and you can understand why this team has been in the situation it has. Please, I just want to see them just be in the world series once before I die.
@axel puls that's what I see a lot too. A whole generation of Mariners fans that haven't even seen them in the playoffs. You should check out a video detailing how the Mariners fell off after 2001. awesome vid just discovered this channel and thank god because you know what your talking about, for the next team rebuild you should look at the marlins because no one realizes how good there rebuild is going
2021 looks even better, Marco even stronger on the mound, Lewis proved himself with ROY, Crawford working on his average, Haniger finally healthy, lots of prospects moving up. And we just got James Paxton back
I’m a life-long Mariners fan, and the last time we made the playoffs, I was 1 year old. A lot of M’s fans are getting hyped due to the fact that we are two-three games behind a playoff spot, but I’m not holding my breath. Also, we have one of the worst run differentials in the league as I’m writing this (-43) Hopefully a sweep against the fledgling DBacks (my second favorite team) will help our chances.
I’m here after the start of the season and I’m laughing because It says that Lewis has a ”High strike out rate” and a White has “ a high OBP and a power hitter” 😂
I'm a lifelong Mariners fan. I, like most, remember little more than mediocrity. The Mariners last made the playoffs when I was 4 years old. The Mariners have been alive on the last day of the season ONCE since then. This would be okay if I was say... 15 years old. But I am 23 at time of writing. I have a trainee at work who was born AFTER the Mariners' last playoff appearance. Jerry, I really hope this works. The long game is getting painful.
I love nearly everything Dipoto has done since he took over (the Segura trade was bad). He inherited an absolute mess, several awful albatross contracts and an aged team with a longshot compete window of 1 year. He has done a ton of good since then (the Diaz Cano trade was amazing). However, I don't believe we will see much out of the Mariners, atleast not in the next 2 years. I think Seattle will have to draft very well and spend big if they want a chance to compete as early as 2022.
kevin Hedglin I think 2021. Enough pitchers will be ready next year to make a run. Also the segura trade may seem bad but they got JP Crawford out of it so I'd say it was a fair trade
I feel like there’s been a lot of mariners content recently, sadman baseball did a video on them, Jon bois has a 6 part series on them for Christ sake. It’s all really made the team endearing to me, I just want the best for them, the fans deserve it
they have never tried such a planned, structured, do it the right way rebuild before. this is different. will the results be different? only time will tell. but im happy to see them ditch the old guys who could go 85-77 every year and never sniff the playoffs. DiPoto just needs to hire a manager with a pulse now! doesnt matter how good the players are, Scott Servais has zero business as an MLB manager. might be the worst manager in the game at using his bullpen the right way. cost us at least one playoff berth 3 or 4 years ago by continuing to bring in guys like Fernando Rodney and Steve Cishek, and losing game after game in the 8th and 9th.
@@buckfuttler2877 the problem with that team was... what else did we have in the bullpen? Charlie Furbush and Danny Farquhar were pretty decent for a bit but one got hurt and the other got let go
I may be a little late to the party, but there is one more major point that you missed. The transition further up the team structure. 2018 was like it was because the M's were stuck with contracts and players from the days of Nintendo *cringe*. The new ownership group deserves massive credit for bringing in Dipoto and actually standing behind Servais.
I hope they don’t give up on Healy. I think he’s solid. They seem to win more when he was in the lineup vs other guys they played in his spot. They could platoon him at DH because Vogey can’t hit lefties (and his second half of last season was under .200).
If and when the Mariners finally make it to the world series, there will be tons of pent-up excitement. They'll also pick up support from people like me who enjoy seeing a new team win their first championship.
Breaking Down the Marlins would be a great video... ...especially since the national consensus is the Marlins traded a Word Series roster (with the small hindering fact that the core actually averaged 75 wins over their time together and never sniffed the playoffs)
Please do a video on the Angels free agent curse. Career year the season prior to a non-factor with the Angels. Recent examples: Zack Cozart, Matt Joyce, David Freese, Gary Matthews Jr., Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler and Shea Hillenbrand. Exceptions are Vlad Guerrero Sr. and Torii Hunter. Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson can go either way.
Please do a video about the trades the Yankees made when they realized they weren’t going to make the playoffs in 2015 that turned into people like gleyber and is the reason they are in the situation they are in today
No, he’s healthy now, just regaining muscle strength lost over time. Supposed to be 10 week recovery to be ready.... so probably mid-June? But if no need to rush, then who knows 🤷♂️ maybe just shut him down for the season... be interesting to see tho
what's with the music? I've never seen this good of young talent like we have, and I've been a fan since early 90s. Our best players aren't even in the majors yet (Kellenic, Gilbert)
Any chance you could look into Detroit's rebuild? Definitely not looking as promising as Seattle and CWS. Also don't know if it will work out like KC or Houston. But you put things down well
Noelvi Marte is promising too! And I don't wanna hear too much Crawford hate yet. In their first 650 at-bats, the following shortstops had a lower fWAR than him: Javier Baez, Marcus Semien, Yoan Moncada, Tim Anderson, and Jorge Polanco. Crawford has only had 621, fwiw. Crawford's troubles are due to his swing mechanics, and when those were right for a couple months last year, he had a .396 BABIP vs .161 when he returned to old habits. There is definitely reason to believe he has a 4 or 5-win ceiling and could consistently hit around .270/.350/.450.
Do you think you could make a video explaining the new two-way player rules? Like how Michael Lorenzen and Brendan McKay will have to earn the title of two-way players and how Ohtani is the only true two-way player right now?

Please do a video about the trades the Yankees made when they realized they weren’t going to make the playoffs in 2015 that turned into people like gleyber and is the reason they are in the situation they are in today
Can you do a video on the Orioles and Adley Rutschman?
I'll add it to my list!
2:18 isn't he supposed to be out for most of the season, or at least most of the pre-covid season?
No, he’s healthy now, just regaining muscle strength lost over time. Supposed to be 10 week recovery to be ready.... so probably mid-June? But if no need to rush, then who knows 🤷♂️ maybe just shut him down for the season... be interesting to see tho
what's with the music? I've never seen this good of young talent like we have, and I've been a fan since early 90s. Our best players aren't even in the majors yet (Kellenic, Gilbert)
Matt Olson has the title of best 1B defender sewn up for the next decade
You should break down the White Sox rebuild next please I need to keep my sanity lol
You should make one of these for the tigers!
As a Mariners fan, you learn quickly to not get hyped....
can you do the same vid but w the padres
What happened to Brian Dozier?
Any chance you could look into Detroit's rebuild? Definitely not looking as promising as Seattle and CWS. Also don't know if it will work out like KC or Houston. But you put things down well
No promises on Detroit but it could happen!
How did Kevin Pillar get an mvp vote? I know he’s a great fielder but how did he sneak into getting a vote
could you do a video about the cards?
I haven't done them yet so I'll definitely cover them at some point!
@@outtaherebaseball3205 cool! you could do something about bob Gibson or the 2011 cards or something else entirely.
There are so many possibilities with the cardinals. Both of those are good topics and down the road I wanna cover the gashouse gang!
Cal Raleigh is on the team and a hella catcher !
Can you do a video about Gio Urshela’s breakout?
I've had multiple people request that so yes it will happen!
Outta Here Baseball awesome I can’t wait for it!
I was disappointed the Reds traded Shed Long. I think he has a ton of potential and was hoping he was the future at 2B in Cincinnati.
Do you think you could make a video explaining the new two-way player rules? Like how Michael Lorenzen and Brendan McKay will have to earn the title of two-way players and how Ohtani is the only true two-way player right now?
I hadn't even considered that but yes that would be good!
