Whatever happened to Brandon Webb? Brad Penny? Chris Carpenter? Tim Lincecum? Grady Sizemore? Carlos Quentin? Ryan Howard? Just throwing out some ideas :-)
I was wondering what happened to Tim Lincecum? He hasn't officially retired yet. You'd think with all the pitching woes teams have, they'd take a chance on a former ace. Or at least invite him to spring training to see what he has left in the tank. He was lights out with the Giants.
I know his velocity was dropping off for awhile. The channel stark raving sports made actually made a video on what happened to him if you're interested
@@zacharybinx8642 Last year was his first season without pitching for an MLB organization in any capacity. TEX signed him in 2018 but he sustained a finger injury that prevented him from ever getting on the field.
I don’t know any organizations-or fanbases-that love their pitchers, as much as us Rays do. Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, James Shields, David Price, Jeremy Hellickson, Chris Archer, Matt Moore, Jake Odorizzi all have had somewhat notable careers *with* and *beyond* the Rays, and I didn’t even mention Matt Garza who is the only Rays pitcher to throw a no-hitter. Somehow tho, Kazmir has always been my favorite. Even through that 2008-2010 span where the Rays pitching was nearly bulletproof. When I saw him pitch in that Athletics uniform, I was both heartbroken and relieved that he had found somewhere else to make an impact. Great video on a really underrated story in my opinion.
As a fellow Rays fan in his mid 20s, growing up Kaz was always my favorite pitcher, especially during our WS run when I was just a kid in middle school. I always felt like I could say "yeah but we have Scott Kazmir!" as a kid when defending the Rays.
This is actually cool to see, I workout with Scotty and the guy has the hunger for the game. Wants it more than most people you meet and I really hope he gets a shot with San Fran at some point, if not elsewhere
As a Long Island Ducks season ticket holder, I saw Kazmir pitch for the Sugarland Skeeters a few times. I also saw both Roger Clemens and Tracey McGrady pitch for the Skeeters as well! Imagine paying ten bucks for a ticket on the first base line of a baseball game featuring Roger Clemens. Wild right?! Baseball is fun like that.
Kaz spent half of his career almost on rivals of my hometown Mariners, but I always kept tabs on him, all the way back to his Tampa days. Dictionary definition on "serviceable". Was always a little sad Seattle never got their hands on him.
Appreciate it! Most other sports channels have videos 10+ minutes long so I'm looking to keep mine shorter to be different. But i may make them longer one day
You should do a series on highly touted prospects who never lived up to the hype. Man...the Mets alone would keep you busy!!! But with your knowledge and insight...we can get a better grasp as to what happened to these kids who flamed out
I would love to see one of these on Mark Mulder, I'm a Yankees fan and I remember watching him as a kid in the 2001 ALDS and thought he was one of the most amazing pitchers I had ever seen, the whole A's Big 3 just enchanted me. Kerry Wood and Mark Prior would be great too
What happened to Matt Kemp? He was Mike Trout before Mike Trout and no one talks about him even though he kept producing for a while. Or what happened to Brian Wilson the man that was “The Beard”
I remember the Kazmir-Zambrano deal. At the time....I understand the thinking behind it....but I was still upset. I knew Kazmir had excellent stuff....and once he honed it...could have been an Ace....solid #2. Zambrano did have good stuff...but not quite Kazmir-esqe. Def a deal I look back on and wish it didn't happen
The problem is that Scott fell into the muddle in the middle-not really overpowering people with his fastball, not a true junk ball pitcher, not really a strikeout pitcher, and not pitching to soft contact. This created a lack of efficiency that adversely affected his staying power. Sadly, injuries did him in. I would definitely root for a guy like him to make a comeback.
As a Red Sox fan, I hated Scott Kazmir. Playing against him was so frustrating. Only Manny Ramirez could ever make contact, everyone else struckout or walked.
Can we get a what happened to jason heyward? it seemed like he was supposed to be the next big thing and now he's really only known for his defense and speed
Whatever happened to that Asian pitcher with the dreaded "gyroball"? The. Red Sox gave him all kinds of money just to have a look at him or something like that. Then I don't recall hearing much more about him.
When the Mets traded him.. I thought it was the dumbest thing they did since trading Tom Seaver. Looking back.. it was a bad trade.. but it ended up being a wash
1.cutch has declined slightly but its called age. 2.pedro was all or nothing once the power left so did he. Jason bay or neil walker or gregory polanco are better options (not a bucs fan but love everything baseball)
@@outtaherebaseball3205 And then Astros gave him a chance and he flourished. I was leaning to a Morton specific video mostly but there r definitely other players who made comebacks that I might have forgotten.

All great suggestions! Carlos Quentin is someone I havent though about in years 😂
@@outtaherebaseball3205 I think of him at least once a year, sadly. Travis Hafner, Jason Bay, Josh Johnson & Matt Cain too.

A rays fan recently asked me that trivia question about the no hitter. I failed until he gave me the initials

great content! wish you had longer vids

I'd like to see a breakdown of Francisco Liriano's career. Oh what could have been...
That would be a good one to cover! Pretty sure he's the only player to win comeback player of the year twice
As a Twins fan, I like to think being teammates with Johan Santana helped him in the beginning - good mentorship
@@outtaherebaseball3205 Damn. I didn't know that. Crazy fact.

And he did it!
Stat stories neftali Feliz, I’m a rangers fan and that just popped in my head so, PLEASE MAKE THIS VID
Excellent use of the Super Mario Bros star. Well done!
Sick vid brehhhhh
What happened to Matt Kemp? He was Mike Trout before Mike Trout and no one talks about him even though he kept producing for a while.
Or what happened to Brian Wilson the man that was “The Beard”
Both are great topics! I remember Kemp being at the top of the MLB network top 100 players list for a year
Kemp injured his back. Wilson, his elbow
This is a really good vid, I’m subbed now

David Wright would be a great one, hall of fame potential
I'd love to see one of these on Rich Hill
I feel like there's a lot of interesting stories to be found by looking at former Rays
Can you make a Brian Wilson video?
You should do one on Jered Weaver. Dude’s velocity declined faster than I’ve ever seen
Great vid as always. Just curious, do you watch Tifo Football? Your style has always reminded me of that channel.
Haha yeah they are one of my favorite channels. We use the same software (videoscribe) 👍

Really one of the only things I know about Scott Kazmir is he gave up Eddie Rosario's first major League Homer.

Can we get a what happened to jason heyward? it seemed like he was supposed to be the next big thing and now he's really only known for his defense and speed
There are so many players I'd like to cover in a "what happened to" video and Heyward is one of them!
He cant hit high and inside and got exposed... Plus he took a fastball to the face and was never the same
Why do so many players fail as soon as they hit Anaheim?
Whatever happened to that Asian pitcher with the dreaded "gyroball"? The. Red Sox gave him all kinds of money just to have a look at him or something like that. Then I don't recall hearing much more about him.
Now he is back with the giants
I’d love Adam wainwright or rich hill
Whatever happened to David Nied and Nigel Wilson? Those who can tell what the theme is here definitely know their baseball
Yasmany Tomas???
68 million dollar contract and he's played less than 200 games in the majors
I always hoped the Mets would pick him up as a salute to the fans who still have PTSD over his trade back in the day. It's still possible...
When the Mets traded him.. I thought it was the dumbest thing they did since trading Tom Seaver. Looking back.. it was a bad trade.. but it ended up being a wash
What happened to Cespedes?
injuries??
Nitin Ik but I was just naming another player for another video
Do one on Andrew mccutchen Pedro Alvarez I’m a Bucs fan lol

You should do one on what happened to neftali feliz
Do Adam Lowen
Do a video on comebacks of players who seemed good as gone until they hit a second wind, like Charlie Morton
Morton is worthy of his own video. I remember when he barely pitched for the phillies and I thought he was done
@@outtaherebaseball3205 And then Astros gave him a chance and he flourished. I was leaning to a Morton specific video mostly but there r definitely other players who made comebacks that I might have forgotten.
I like the vid!
Do Chien Ming Wang
Injuries:-(
You should do erik bedard he was above average with the O's + was traded for adam jones (eventual face of the O's)
Someone cue the Poltergeist Girl.
What happened to jermey helickson
Whatever happened to Daniel Bard?
matt harvey
Kazmir is on the Giants now lol
Whatever Happened to Adam Dunn? Jason Giambi?
In 2013 the Indians used chief wahoo as their primary logo...so use chief in your video. Foolish baseball, (A much better Channel) does it.
I remember him from RBI baseball 2016🤣
Willie McGee!
you should do a what happened on matt moore
I know the answer :
He had a very successful career and made millions of dollars
What happened to Hector Olivera
Do Cj Wilson
