I'm not sure if you would be able to read this but here it goes haha. Thank you for this video, Wong Fu! It means a lot. I was about to take an admissions test for college and this made me realize that even though there are far more stable careers out there, doing what you really want to do will make you achieve your dreams in life. I needed this video. Thank you so much again! I love you all!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
That's really a good way to put it in the career field: do you live day-to-day or end-goal? That question alone would really help to establish your path and what it is that fuels your enthusiasm and passion, and make your daily attitude more positive rather than just "waiting for the weekend"
I really needed to watch this. It resonates with my current perspective on how solid decisions that correlate to what I want are far more important than being indecisive due to fear, lack of control, or perhaps my personal expectations and expectations from others.
Thank You for this video. This video came at the perfect timing. It was very enlightening because I really needed something to reassure me that my own passions and interests trump everything else and this was it. It made me realize that I need to do something that will make me happy despite the risks and challenges that come with it, rather than pursing something to make others happy but not myself. Don't know where I'd be without you Wong Fu.
Man, can I relate. Went through highschool thinking I'd be an auto mechanic, changed course around grade 12 to focus on accounting. Ended up majoring in economics and finance in Uni and beginning a masters of Economics before losing interest in it, dropping out and falling in love with international affairs and geo-politics in Asia. Now I just finished my first job out of University after completing a Masters in International Policy and am currently funemployed... not quite the end product I was hoping for... XD
I work to fund what I love to do, as I don’t think my random interests are something I can piece together as a viable job. A large chunk of me also enjoys the structure of a normal, steady-ish job as an engineer.
The last few videos have been very helpful for me. I've been going through a career crisis. I've been working in the public accounting field for 4 years and I want to leave the field but I don't know where to start or what I should be doing instead.
So timely. I'm actually at the point of going back to school and take MBA after working in the corporate world for almost 7 years. I really gotta try it.
where can I get help with career guidance? I feel weird asking acquaintances in my network (what would that email even look like?), and don't want to burden friends dealing with their own problems. but I'm feeling pretty lost right now, unemployed, losing funds in what seems like a cycle of despair. I worked in the creative industry but I'm at a crossroads in my career deciding whether or not I should just throw in the towel at this point and work towards something completely different, i.e. more "safe" and stable. I don't have all the time in the word to experiment and try things at this point but want to savor the time I do have, and just really need a morale boost and some mentorship to keep me from giving up altogether
nimbu I would recommend taking up a part time job to accumulate savings while spending your free time on building a portfolio of things you want to create - that could be anything from content on a youtube channel, podcasting, etc. Think of a job like an anchor to keep you grounded while you're venturing out into the unknown in search of a better fit (:
I’m so glad this is a topic of discussion. I studied fashion design for four years and have now worked almost two years in the industry but I’m looking to make a huge career change in my life.
I was very infatuated with Julie Zhan many years ago (as many hundreds of thousands of other men were/still are) and can see she is truly the perfect wife material, on screen she makes it look realistic because I feel it is a direct reflection of her true personality off screen. Sadly, nothing ever panned out between Juju and I as we are world's apart. She doesn't even know who I am so I moved on :_(
So Constance Wu has the lead on a A-list movie. Help AAJA members understand all of the whining coming from MWF regarding not seeing enough asians in hollywood.
Marty D Not a standstill, just waiting to open the door that you have not found yet. Never give up. Keep looking for that door. I speak from experience.
Fun fact: Julia is still to this date the icon on the Photo Booth application on every MacOS device lol

best advice here : "would i regret it if i don't take the leap at my dream" and if the answer is yes, go for it!

Welcome Jessica! Great to see you back on lunch break 😬😬😬
some people don't know what they want to do and that's hard, I know exactly what I want to do but am too afraid to chase it, that's devastating.
Really needed this video today
I'm gonna save this in my Favorites. So inspiring and motivational. 👏

Everything takes time. Always find ways to try new things big or small and you'll quickly discover things you like vs don't.
