"Do you ever get to the end of a notebook?" I feel so attacked right now. LOL I'm saying this while contemplating buying another notebook when I'm still trying to finish my current one. ^_^
I went to design school to become a designer. I feel like I took very little from it and actually taught myself everything. So I don't think you need to graduate from a design school to be considered a "designer" at all.
I agree with this! Also went to design school but honestly taught myself most of what I know. If you design you're a designer. You don't have to go to school for it.
Definitely relate to Jen with notebook and pens 😂 And my friends know me well enough to give me notebooks as well 😂 but I also relate to Benson about losing motivation when you realize that your idea isn’t really new or unique because someone else has already done it before and probably even better ☹️ Excited to see what Chris’ clothing line is going to look like!!!! Congrats, Wes, on your eyewear line!!!! ❤️
I think for me it's having too many passion projects. I like a lot of different things and i want to do them all, but because there's too many i tend to do then halfway and abandon them. 😅😂 But i have realised the problem and an now focusing on one thing at a time. Good luck and have fun to everyone pursuing their passion projects!
@@_jennle that's actually what I do, and now I work at Irvine Spectrum Typo....I think I'm pretty similar to you, I draw, like painting, word art, everything. I stored up so many journals, stationary stuff and art and crafts materials. I have a box of cards I saved up since 6 or more years ago. and then boxes for planner stuff, stickers, stamps, journals and sketchbooks. I love your art work!
Design is just a label to describe your craft. As long as you create things with passion and genuinity, it doesn't matter what you call your craft, or have it define who you are. Don't let labels or titles validate your work. Let your work stand on its own artistic merit. :) Just food for thought.
I relate with Jenn. I'm going to have a whole shelf of unused notebooks/sketchbooks one day i swear D: Also relate with wanting to do all these creative things~ you're living my dream!
Ahhhh yes, I relate to you Benson. I'm such a hands on, visual learner and I can't just sit in front of a computer all day to really thrive. Figuring out the logistics of how a project comes to life is great for me, from Excel sheets to physical product :)
I'm actually struggling with this right now, where I sew, do graphic design, and put my artistic... talents(?🥴) to use on my own but have trouble getting it into a real thing. Thanks for this perspective, I needed to hear this cuz its comforting☺️
Y'ALL ARE SO CREATIVE. It'd be such a dream to work with you all, must be amazing to work together. :) I love this lunch break, and helpful for other creatives like myself. (I'm also a designer, mostly web and UX.) More of these pleaseeeee.
I loved this episode!! It was really helpful and useful to hear you guys discuss your creative energies, especially as professionals in the industry! I'm in the 9 to 5 boat and don't have as much time or energy for my creative projects as I would like.
i just started bullet journaling for the first time this school year! hopefully it keeps me on top of things. i’ve also been thinking about getting new glasses! wes & i both like simple and neutral haha so i’ll definitely have to check out his glasses
I am totally a notebook connoiseur, I have so many notebooks that I haven't began to touch. When i finish a notebook, i treat it like i'm "moving" into a new space when i get ready to pick another one to write i
It's interesting to hear you guys talking about a separate life outside of Wong Fu. I think so many of your viewers see yourselves living your dream careers doing what you are passionate about but at the same time, because you are in it, it's still a job too. I'm a designer by trade as well but worked my way into a very non-design niche of the industry, and would love to get more visually creative again.
Can I make a request, to you guys? I really want you guys to ask the followers where they are from. I am pretty sure you guys have not just the Asian American following. I am from Pakistan and following you guys for a year now the very first video I watched was on Adulting. It motivated me a lot. wes had made quite a spectacle out of his passion :o
EYE SEE what you did there. What I did there?
you're actually famous liz

I relate to Jenn and her notebooks and journaling. And Wes designing those glasses frames is very cool.

For some reason, I noticed that Jenn ate all of her food way faster than Wes, Chris, and Benson. Lol.

relatable.
What are some of your passion projects?
i'm so guilty of spending all of my money on cute ass notebooks and planners and pens too.. LOL. *-*
No shame. As long as you put them to use!

This was a great episode about creative process and management
I would love a longer video about this topic!! It was super nice and refreshing!

An idea for a lunch break: Your travelplans. I know you guys have traveled a lot, are there new places you would like to visit? I recommend Suriname!

Those frames made by Wesley Chan.. Hope to have it available here in the Philippines 🙈

We all need variety. It's what makes us human! Or highly developed robot?
Is Jenn the only woman left at Wong Fu? You really need to get Jenn some support on Lunch Break!
That was a talk I needed thanks guys
Thanks for watching Calvin. Glad it helped!
Congratulations Wes!!!
Thanks for the inspiration! :-) :-)
Likewise!
Please have more talks like this!
Is it me or is the editing too choppy? Love the content though!!
How come you guys aren’t advertising the ISA charity basketball game in the Bay Area anywhere?? 😞

how do the sun glasses attachment stay on? magnetic?
The sunglass plate connects magnetically as well as physically with a hook that secures to the metal frame
@@thewesleychan Thanks for the reply. Will these be available in thr UK?
Are the add on lenses polarized? They are so much darker then they can transition lenses.
They plates are do not come polarized but I believe you can request that addition. You should ask @jinseyewear on IG for details!
For Benson it's too hot to want to do something outside, for me living in the Netherlands it's too cold to want to do something outside
