PHIL PLEASEEE do season 2, Im first gen and Mexican, my boyfriend is Chinese ( and grew up in the 626 area0 , Rosemead, Alhambra, Monterey Park) and I grew up in a lot of other cities, and first gen. So after watching the first two Yappie episodes, I related so much with the female characters, I've been having discussions with my boyfriend and asking him on why doesn't he care about certain issues like immigration and racism in America, especially being Latina, I would have moments whee I would go to places with my parents and not be served because of our race, and he would just focus on work work work money money. I wanted him to care about issues and the history of immigrants in this country and he wouldn't really care. After sending him the first episode of Yappie, I realized he didn't watch it. So after a few weeks, thankfully the series was complete, I sat his butt down and made him watch it and watching his reaction was worth everything, he cringed at seeing himself in andrew, he was shocke that all the places he & his friends would hang out were mentioned and he also empathized a lot with Andrew when he was dating kaleena. This show opened is eyes to things outside of his bubble, but it also helped me understand why it was that he was so focused on work and money and not about other things. This video series really helped out the both of us. THANK YOU - Cindy

“Do research on their culture” is really good advice! It makes a huge difference! Then again.. in a case like ours that hard to do.. we have a looooot of mixture in our family like Dutch, German, French, Jewish, Chinese, amor Indian, Portuguese and a few more ;) the best way around it? Find love with a close friend that’s been around a long time and that gets along well with ur family and knows their craziness and still loves you for who you are. Impossible? Nope, my husband did just that ;)

One of my ex-girlfriends had a single mom as well. I adore Lunch Breaks, it's like having older siblings give you life advice- but I do wish that Wong Fu had like an Asian LGBT perspective on the advice that they give, because I feel like the dynamic and the perspective is totally totally different on that end.
