They'd only take the damage at the Start of the Next turn when the vortex moves***
Windblast causes a unit to give ground. Pg 134 "When a unit Gives Ground, it moves 2" directly away from the enemy unit or units that caused it to Give Ground, without turning, pivoting or otherwise changing its facing in any way, stopping immediately should it come into contact with another unit or TERRAIN, or if continuing to move would bring it within 1" of an enemy unit." the vortex counts as dangerous terrain while on the board per the spell. So they would stop at the edge of the template before entering it.
Fun fact: the vortex only deals damage when it moves. So if you wind blast a unit into a vortex it doesn't do anything unit the next player turn when it moves
Do vortex spells say that they do damage at any time other than when they move? Specifically Summon Elemental Spirits only seems to do damage when it moves, which means the damage would happen in the next start of turn phase (not a big difference like I originally thought).
I’m also wondering about movement trays. It seems like, in this edition, you’re going to have to be more flexible in how you deploy/rank your units. Shifting from lines to blocks depending on the terrain and combat situation.
Ever thought about putting up the events on new recruit? Just curious. With TOW out now and massive amounts of groups popping back up might be a good idea to have a set place for many events to help register gamers.
Can you cast two spells from a wizard in the same phase? Thought it was one spell per phase stopping that sort of combo, and not using army dispels? Not sure how he would have won there , but that was. Drubbing.
Oh yeah haha, he was teleporting dudes everywhere, draining magic, and some magic missiles here and there. I got in combat when one of them bottom of 2 and he didn't escape so he couldn't cast with one
I don't understand why people are saying linehammer. It seems like a knee jerk reaction from hearing some of the rules online and not understanding what's actually effective lol
@@idiotproofdalek soo you're calling it linehammer because some people will be fielding their elite infantry units 10 wide? People have always brought 10 wide elite infantry units lol unless it was a tarpit unit like 5x10 which was dumb and makes no sense from a realistic standpoint. Really wide units are also difficult to maneuver in standard size games due to the bases being larger now.

@@andrewlittleton4690 well son of a... Thanks for pointing that out!
Was there spots left open for the Richmond open?
Where can you find those High Elf stl files? Good looking miniatures!
Really nice one! can you share with us the lists? (particulary curious about the wood elves one)
I imagine the wood elves best matchup might be other elves. Elite (expensive) T3 models are what makes wood elf archers get out of bed in the morning
Very true, let's us just dance around. Vs fast moving, horde, or high T armies it's a problem
lots of expensive T3 infantry against WE, well someone's feeling confident

Correct! We discovered (and posted it) right after. Still a nice little tactic though
Glad to see Austin coming to the dark side. Be seeing yall in a few weeks!
Ive played HE into WE. Its definitely a good matchup for WE.
Paint your minis!
You guys were way ahead of the game here much appreciated:)
He just got them last week 👍
Gladly
@@squarehammer9349 I'm just teasing.
Love the channel
As a high elf player, this was just brutal to watch 😅

Nope just when they move (unless dangerous and you go through them)
I’m also wondering about movement trays. It seems like, in this edition, you’re going to have to be more flexible in how you deploy/rank your units. Shifting from lines to blocks depending on the terrain and combat situation.
Yeah it will be a hassle if you want to take full advantage of tactics within the rules to rebase models onto movement trays

BB is using recruit but might stick to BCP
@@squarehammer9349 not familiar with BCP?
@@franksczypta1378Best Coast Pairings. Great app for tournament play

Yeup! You can cast all relevant spells
Two of my favorite dudes;
Andrew! You playing the old world?! (Curt if you couldn't tell)
Wood elves getting work done.
Did the High Elvis ever cast anything? I thought they had 2 lvl 4s?
Oh yeah haha, he was teleporting dudes everywhere, draining magic, and some magic missiles here and there. I got in combat when one of them bottom of 2 and he didn't escape so he couldn't cast with one
Like to format GG
Freakin wood elves
Hey dudes, unfortunately only 0-1 unit of Scouts are allowed per 1000 points. Great short n sweet report though!
Is that a general rule, or an army specific rule?
1 unit per 1000pts can be core. You can take as many unit as u want in the special section.
Correct Harvey!!
Waystalker shots still get Look Out Sir.
Agreed which is awful, but his first wizard was outside of a unit so he got hit
paint your minis :P (great video thank you)

2 level 4s is kind of lame
