Two reasons why you'd use ND on an FX6 - you want more than 7 stops of ND (EG: shooting F1.4 during midday sun because the client loves bokeh) - you are having issues with the internal ND (EG: polarisation issues shooting into water that wouldn't happen with a 'basic' ND) I've never personally experienced the second issue, but I do sometimes hit the first issue. Also, if you think you will need more than 5 stops you can put a 3 stop ND on there, then you get 5-10 stops from the internal system so it gives you wiggle room Aside from that 'ND on FX6', the other reasons I have filters on the sony lenses is - I sometimes use a diopter ("close up") filter to get closer focusing, especially since I sold my macro lens, or when using anamorphic which has generally horrific minimum focus distance - I often use a glow filter because I love the look of them - I use ND on these if I mount the lens to an FX3 instead of the FX6
This was really well done. Thanks for sharing with the community!
Thanks! Very helpful! Nice work! Wishing you continued success with everything!
Dude sweet rig
Thanks, really appreciate it 🔥
Why do you use magnetic ND filters when the FX6 has internal ND's?
I was wondering the same thing. Only example I can think of is if you need a stronger ND
