- Probably the hardest hitless I have ever done despite this boss having relatively low hp. I think this might be my favorite dragon fight just over Midir, although Midir can be really lame and the aftershock mechanic of the ancient dragons is as well. Still don't think they've absolutely nailed a dragon fight yet.

This is from my infamous "Suck it Anderson" Elden Ring challenge run. I always nickname runs so they aren't such a mouthful, but basically it's a Zweihander only, RL1+0 build. The point of this run is for me to have fun mastering the bosses while showing that anyone with two eyeballs and a heartbeat can learn the bosses, and to show that colossal weapons are better now than they have ever been. The posture system is a better incentive to playing aggressive than the rally system ever was tbh.

Unlocking the camera really made me love this fight. You can see what he's doing and positioning in his paws really helps. Sure, some hitboxes are jank, but for the most part is an enjoyable fight. Wish he had more health, he's too easy IMO.
I think they lowered his hp to balance out the constant lightning so you could eat a bunch of bolts and still win, but yes with how high the damage cap is I could see a half optimal build absolutely rolling this guy
@@loopine Yeah, even with a +12 Greathammer, he stood no chance against the UNGA BUNGA. I'm planning to do a rl50 of this game, since I already did the hole endgame with a rl100 +18 Greathammer and found it pretty easy.
Incredible to see the fortissax stagger in phase 1 and the massive damage it does even at +0. Sucks that i could never really get it in phase 2 even when trying to be aggressive
It's is pretty hard to stagger him tbf, probably the hardest
tell me about it especially trying to do it on ng+7 ive only managed to do it in phase 1. phase 2 he wastes so much time with his lightning glave that you can't really keep up
at least the riposte is worth it. in ng+7 with a +0 misericorde with rfbs, dancer and sorsceal at RL1 deals like 2.2k damage lmao

amazing fight, good stuff lupine. love this boss. last time i was co oping with a buddy i had to let my buddy solo the boss because on my screen he bugged out and the death lightning he summoned would never disappear or stop striking. by the end of the fight i had to stand in the corner and pop a bolus because literally the entire screen was covered in death lightning and my frames were tanking lol. i wish i clipped it

The Grimm music is very fitting for this fight, best dragon boss in elden ring, top 3 in the series imo, up there with Midir and Sinh (Yes I like Sinh more than Kalameet dont judge me)

GG well played. Ngl Fortissax is probably my favourite dragon in the series. I never tried to jump the dive move before, but i guess it makes some sense since it's a ground slam.

Fanrastic kill, so rare to see people play for headshots like that. Incidentally, a CR2 on the double bite is pretty straightforward to learn.

When it comes to Hitless running, I probably can learn how to consistently dodge a bosses' attacks (as can basically everyone), but I couldn't do it anyway because my nerves would fail me and I'd mess up midway through. Well, unless I were running some high damage build, but that would defeat the purpose of hitlessing, wouldn't it?
Depends on you tbh, iblike a long perfect fight and I never do restrictions that allow buffs and what not because I'd actually have to go and theorycraft and find all the buffs in the game like getting the mushroom crown and poisoning myself etc. And I'm just too lazy lol

I actually did as well, but it took so much effort just to achieve that.
Trying to make sure his posture doesn't deplete is such a pain in the ass.

4:38 Did you just jump the dragon flying at you? Does he not have a hitbox where his entire body is or do you miss it that way?
You can just jump it, I have never once been hit for doing that and I do it many times in this video. No clue why tho lol
i need your help. Im doing my zwei only run and the deathrite bird is gatekeeping my ass. The only move that is giving me problems is his ghostflame move. Do you know of any consistent ways of dodging it or is it 100% luck? Great LIchdragon fight tho
If you mean the AOE then it’s random. Technically the ghost flame goes in the cardinal directions (so one will always go directly north) but you’re never going to be able to tell that on demand so quickly so effectively it’s random. Most consistent way I’ve found is to hop on torrent as soon as you see him start it and ride away as far as you can. Once the blast comes out react quickly to the direction of the ghost flame and use torrent to dodge it if it is coming towards you. This does require pretty good reaction time to be consist though, both to react to the telegraph itself in time to get far enough to be able to react to the ghost flame and being able to react to the ghost flame.
The other ghost flame attack also spreads randomly I think. Best bet is to just run away and move the fight away from that area.
I’m not an expert though so take all I said with a grain of salt.
@@anonymous01201 Thats interesting, I guess it would help then to have landmarks of the area picked out so you can be aware of which way you are facing during the fight
Honestly the snowfield DeathRite Bird was the only boss I never killed until my 15th or so playthrough because I was making a necromage build. The reason was I never figured out how that damn flame moves, it would just appear under me and kill me in 3 tics. Can't help you until I test it out unfortunately

HE BEAT THE JANK LESSGO most cinematic fight in the game fr however he ain't really all that fun with deathblight and those hitboxes it can be a lil janksouls.
The lightning aftershock is a weird concept to wrap your head around, this boss is the king of good positioning. The constant tracking lightning ensures you are constantly on the move all around him experiencing his entire moveset and the death blightnijg keeps you from running away too far like with Midir.

These dragon fights do not look fun at all, got the game a little over a month ago I’ve beaten every boss and plaxico burress multiple times with no ashes of war…. Haven’t attempted them a single time either tho 😂
