I feel like the AD’s pick to give the watches to genuine nice people with genuine interest in watches or as a celebration.. birthdays, retirements, family bereavement purchase etc etc. be nice, be genuine and prove you’re serious and you’ll be just fine. 👌🏽
Well they haven’t called me. I registered my interest in a GMT Batman in 2021 and no call. How I wish that Ernest Jones were still Rolex AD’s as I bought 4 watches from them a long time ago
@@Madeinlondon67 is it your first Rolex from that AD? Have you shown your serious? Or did you enquire and just go away and wait like 99.9% people that go through the doors of an AD?
It’s the first from the AD as I registered my interest before the hype really started in 2021. I bought 3 Daytonas and a Deepsea Dweller between 2007 and 2009. Kept one Daytona and let a mate buy another at Cost and also sold the Deepsea Dweller at list price to a friend. Only sold one Daytona for a reasonably good profit. I’m not a flipper.
Agree with your assessment of what is needed to be considered for a grail watch.. I have been on the same path as you with my AD.. They are an amazing bunch of people and truly a family owned jeweler store.. I have obtained 4 Rolex models over the last 5 years. As you I am 100% dedicated to my AD for the kindness they have shown a humble collector
Amazing! I’m so glad to hear that other people have had a similar experience. I think some people just don’t want to face reality, or lack enough experience to understand it’s just business
Everyone, give your AD's a chance. I live in Tulsa and the AD here on 15th Street is FANTASTIC. My first visit was exactly two weeks prior to receiving my Sub LV. On my first visit I registered my 3 models of interest (Sub LV was #2). Two weeks later, I went in to ask if they could fix a broken ring mount (my second visit), and the AD said he had something to show me. 2 hours later I was wearing the Sub LV. What I did: Be sincere. Show interest in the store. Be honest. Let them know you will be giving them your business in other areas. Know exactly what models you want and why. Dress respectfully. Wear a Rolex.
@@ericp1139 forgive me.. my AD experience was so opposite from all the negative stories, and I was still so excited that I had to get the word out that a positive AD experience is still possible ha
Fantastic explanation of your journey to building your collection so far! I have recently started building my own collection of watches including tudor, Rolex, omega, breitling and I’m a regular guy too who’s lucky enough to have a great AD. Patience and honesty with loyalty seem to be the key as they should be with any kind of business and hobby! Also… who are you kidding, you wouldn’t pass up that Daytona! 😂❤️
Quite simply. You have a good purchase history with the AD, thus making it easier for you to get offered and purchase watches. Thats it. But for the general public, it isn't like this
Yeah I really enjoyed hearing the whole story even if I’ve watched all the episodes. I did kinda laugh when you forgot the mint DJ for a minute. Totally agree on the grey guys to be avoided. I’ve been lucky to have a great relationship with a family owned AD in my town and even though I’m still waiting for my BLBR from him, he’s been a true gent , has gotten me several watches including my first Rolex ( an Explorer) after only buying a Tudor earlier that year , 2020. To be honest the best ones are just folk like us who love watches and love talking watches with real fans. They know who the flippers are… let’s face it. And I know there are shady ADs, but it’s great to have a good one. Good advice about buying even the little gifts there. They appreciate it. Enjoy your Sprite mate. There’s nothing like the days you get to go in and pick up a special watch. 🍻

Keep up the great work Adam and we look forward to seeing more videos from you in future Thanks
Sorry, but I don't mean to be rude. I'm not sure why you are so surprised to have been allocated those pieces. You did exactly what people despise doing at an authorized dealer. You bought jewelry for your girlfriend and family members and then you bought a 41 mm date just, not an in demand watch, and then you were allocated the bat girl. You then bought more jewelry for your girlfriend and then was allocated the sub. Did you notice the pattern? You buy things they give you a prize. You buy more things they give you another prize. So all you did was play the game, that's all.. if you stop buying jewelry or any not in demand time pieces your call from your authorized dealer will be few and far between. But you played the game and got the pieces. Congrats.
Thanks mate! Very true! Agree with everything in your comment! I just wanted to show people that normal people can get these watches without going crazy buying stuff you don’t want
Lmao this comment is gold! Buying things you originally did not want in order to get the chance to buy something you do want. Though I will disagree that the 41mm DJ is undesirable. One of the most beautiful and versatile watches out there.
@@IamnotJokic I beg to differ. How do you know he didn't want those jewelries? How do you know he didn't want the date just 41?
