This car must be an automatic with the 2:73 gears. Stop ripping on this guy ! Yeah, we all know he's not an experienced drag racer. Drag racing is very fun and anyone interested in showing up should be encouraged not shunned. I have 30+ years of street racing and track time under my belt.
The description says that it's a 6 speed with 3.42 gears ...Like you were saying...I think it's just a case of a newbie out having fun and getting used to drag racing. I mean you can clearly hear that its a 6 speed, in the very beginning when he went from reverse to 1st gear you can hear the shifter slap when he moved the shifter back and forth. Either way, I agree with you, there is no need to rip the guy apart, he is having fun...and we were all new to drag racing at some point or the other.
@@navy_vet493 Could just be hot weather... not like his trap speed is wayyy off from a stock ls1 c5. Hell my C5 has trapped 109-115 just on weather variables, traction, driving, etc.
13.5 at 104mph being an auto with the standard gear option. That's pretty accurate. As long as your having fun it's all good. Good looking C5. Make sure you have your stability/ trac control completely off.
There's no way this was a manual. It rolled off the line like an automatic and there was no bucking between gears once he got moving. It just stayed stationary with no rear end jump. Stock manual ls1 Camaro SS's run 12.9 stock so there's no way this is manual, unless it was at a high ass DA
105 mph is in the ballpark for a stock base C5 Corvette. With a good driver in ideal conditions (elevation, temp etc) I'd hope to see a little more but not much. 108 mph maybe.
@@TheBb6prelude I may have been slightly low in my estimate for a well-driven 6 speed car. At ~500' DA you might see 109-110. The Z06 is faster, if you are going for a C5 I see no reason to get a base model- get a Z06.
@robertlevy105 I mean, they do. My 4cyl Hyundai Kona went 13.39 @ 105 when it was still stock. 12.6 @ 113 with less than $1000 in mods that took 45 min to install in the driveway. I also had a LS1 Camaro at one point, so not like I'm not knowledgeable on both platforms.
Nathan Lopez nope the autos are slow as fk my friend had an auto it was so slow because it has to tall of gears in the auto he tracked it twice it went 14.00! He was sick.

Read the description 🤡

Not bad man, not bad
I’m over here dying at the RTs 😂
The is the et . Reaction is reaction . Trip the beam and the clock starts
The voice of reason ! Thanks
I ran 13.6 missing a gear at 96mph. While having a horrible launch. Gotta get that in the 12's. Yes I'm bone stock lol.
What year is the c5 bro???
Decent.
Just ran a 13:31 with my stock 01 automatic with 2:56 gears.
Whats with reaction time?
jesus i ran a 13.5 in my bone stock c4 l98 car
That’s what my stock automatic 3v runs
Asleep big time , driver mod much needed
Has no affect on ET.
You’ve never been on a strip before huh lol
his reaction times are horrid.
Jason Garner and that means absolutely nothing when you are just racing for times. Reaction times only matter when your racing in a competition.
Probably didn't learn how to subvert c5 electronic pedal before this. Maybe ran first with tc on....idk.
Means nothing
I don't think he cares who won. He just wanted to see his 1/4 time.
Guessing there’s an ol boomer driving it
Is it tuned?

Stock LS1 in the 12s? Sure I believe it 100% but it wouldn’t be the norm.
12.9 maybe with drag radials and a K&N drop in but to get a 12.9 out of a stock LS1 non Corvette you’d have to be one hell of a driver.
Yes, this clearly was an automatic.
Is this dude sleeping at the tree.
how much difference would a 3:15 rear end vs a 2:45 make in a 1/4 mile? That's in a C5 Corvette, auto trans.
It's a 2.73 not 2.45
@@AntonioLopez-bk7dq yup😝
@@cryptocarsandcoffee7854 i miss ny vette😢
No such thing as a 2.45 diff in a C5......Or ANY Vette I've ever heard of
They where to worried about correcting u to answer ur question lol

@Mason Elam $18k will get you a ~60k mile C5 Z06 in pretty good shape. Who buys a Corvette that is worried about 5 grand?
@Mason Elam Jesus. Thing must be beat lol
C5 wins
Y u not staging it 😑😑
And to think, people run faster times with bone stock FWD Hyundai crossovers now. Wild.
Sure they do. Enjoy the smell running behind those blown-out and yet never fast in any cars.

Horrible launching, with the right driver that cars going a 13.0
the car could run 12s stock an automatic equipped c5 should run 13s flat
Nathan Lopez nope the autos are slow as fk my friend had an auto it was so slow because it has to tall of gears in the auto he tracked it twice it went 14.00! He was sick.
craig howard bullshit. The auto F body with more weight and less power runs better then 14.0.
TIREKILLERZ I'd say average is low 14s high 13s depending on the DA
preludeF20Bking way off.
okcguy 427 you are a idiot they are not slow you are straight ignorant people who drag race have automatics for a reason
my 87 went 13.8 with bolt ons and a homeade Cai no headers either! This is not impressive.
Pretty sure you can launch much harder smh
Snoooooooooze!
Sorry but that launch is horrendous
Mine is more nasty!
Take off way to slow and I mean slow.
