    My aussie had always thrown up dog food since day one that I got him. I went to many vets and nobody could figure it out and I felt so bad for him. He's 8 now and about 4-5 months ago I found your video and decided to try to make my own just to see if my boy can keep food down. And it works! As well as he's lost weight and I feel like he's gotten his energy back and he loves this food so much he dances and jumps up and down for it everyday!! I do add a daily vitamin as well. Thank you so much for sharing!!

    We've been using your recipe for four months now. The dogs love it; they look healthier and have more energy. Mixing the food was a chore so I now use my paddle mixer (I was a tiler) and a food-grade 5-gallon bucket. All the ingredients mix effortlessly together in no time. Thanks for sharing this nutritious alternative to kibble.

    I love your videos, thanks for doing them! Good job on having such a healthy older dog and I hope she is with you for a long while yet... what a great diet she is getting. I have the 3qt and 6qt IPs and now you make me want the 8qt lol. Currently feeding a prepared raw diet for my dogs but I used to do my own meal prep for them like you're doing (both raw and cooked). I think I will try it again, just to give them some variety.

    here's my comment from you past video on dog food, LOL....."i got a great 'open box/used like new' deal for my IP last year. after talking with a rep, they ended up crediting and discounting it down to $25!! when it arrived, it was BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED!! i am thrilled. and i love using it so much, i have since bought two older electric pressure cookers at yard sales.....i can run all three machines at once, and seriously cut down on my time making 'bulk' recipes. great ideas here too, and thank you! now my quest next level is freeze drying the cooked dog food to have shelf stable. hmmmm maybe dehydrate too? canning sounds like a lot of work....if i had freezer room tho......."

    Have you thought about Freeze Drying the dog food that you make, so that it is shelf stable? IF you want to rehydrate it, you just add water to it. Or you can leave it dried and let them drink water as they will regardless.

    I hope your baby is recovering🥰🥰 I make my dog food also and use everything that you put in yours I also add pumpkin apples turkey or chicken hearts gizzards and liver and I also make dog treats. Ever since I started doing this my dogs have more energy and seem to be healthier, they're senior dogs and one was overweight She's lost 18 pounds now and looks and feels much better

      @@TheBuckStop I'm so glad to hear that.She looks like a sweet girl. I have 3 rescues and one got hit by a car last year and almost lost his leg.$2000 later he's recovered well. It's heartbreaking when they need surgeries so I'm happy Shelby is ok💞💞💞

    ❓ Can you please share the resource for the vet you mentioned concerning homemade dog food meals? I'm not able to find it in the description box. 😊 Thank you for taking the time to share these recipes.

    She’s not spoiled at all! 🥰 I too have a lumpy dog who’s had several surgeries.
    I have a few questions. How many ounces is 1/3 c chopped beef liver? Also you used 3 eggs in your video which you said was a double batch. How many for a single batch with 6 lbs of turkey?
    Thanks for sharing!

    • @TheBuckStop
      @TheBuckStop  Місяць тому +1

      admittedly I am very loose with measurements but the beef liver I use one liver steak per batch - as for the eggs I use 3 double or single batch

    I am so glad that I found you and this recipe! I have been doing my own research and once I found yours it seemed to be the easiest and healthy for our fur baby. I have One question, do we need to wean from kibble to homemade food?

    • @TheBuckStop
      @TheBuckStop  11 днів тому

      yes wean off dry kibble - we still feed Sable dry in emergencies or if running low - thank you so much for sharing

  • @LDFine

    Thank you for the video on how you cook Sable’s food. I have recently started cooking for my Miniature Schnauzer, Marlee. She loves the homemade food. Just curious…do you feed Sable any dry food (kibble) occasionally or is she strictly on what you prepare?

    • @TheBuckStop
      @TheBuckStop  2 місяці тому +1

      yes we do keep some dry kibble on hand in case of emergencies. Purina One is what we have in pantry.

    I would love to start doing this for my dogs. My bernedoodle is 60 pounds and my English goldendoodle is 30. They could both stand to lose a few pounds.
    How do you figure out how much they should each get a day?

    • @TheBuckStop

      for me I figured it out when I tried Farmers Dog and I also spoke with may Vet

    Excellent recipie. Let us know how Sadie is doing with regard to her operation. I pray it's not cancer. My Melody , 10 yr old black lab has a whole side of what seems like a flat long layer of fat on the length of her side. i pray it's just fat . She's otherwise okay.

    Question: I have been doing some research on making homemade dog food for my 98lb American Boxer. I have seen where people are adding a "nutrient dox mix" powder to their dog food. Also Farmers Dog sells this! Do you need this mix? Isn't all the nutrients needed in their recipe? Thanks

    • @TheBuckStop
      @TheBuckStop  Місяць тому

      I think so. this is a well balanced diet and we do give her a broad array of supplement and medications for her age. The vitamin pack is something I would discuss with your vet.

    Do I feed the same amount of fresh homemade dog food as dry kibble? Ex: 15lb dog gets 1 cup per day and the 65 lb dog gets 3 cups dry dog food per day.

    • @latrese24
      @latrese24 25 днів тому

      Yes. It's usually 1 cup per 20lbs of dog weight. So you are on the right track

    Hey I’m just curious I’m not good at matching portions out, I know Sable is bigger than both my dogs , I was just wondering if you know off hand the portion sizes for a 23ish pound dog, and 55-60 pound dog? 😅 I don’t want to under or over feed them.

      Sable is 70 lbs (3 cups a day) - so for 60 lbs I say 2 Cups a day - half in AM half in PM - and for 23 lbs again cut that in half - it also is based on activity - Sable is an old girl so she needs less at here age
