Extremely underrated player and performer. Can't believe I missed this show. I live right around the corner from this joint. Phil carries on the legacy of SRV and Hendrix with such, power, grace, style and dignity. He is one bad ass man on that axe. Also, his live tone is pristine and the envy of any guitar slinger.

Yes hendrix on steroids at last .I think hes the best blues guitarist in the world. And who knows what other style he can play i cant go past this this guy.
Holy sh moly man!,,,,,you can't teach this to a guitarist it's super natural channeling . He has other worldly intensity . No amount of music theory or education can produce that . It's 4th dimension kinda contact. I am a huge fan of the blues but this is next level. His cascading pentatonic runs are like match to fire and gasoline.the vibrato and bends are just so good man and he is using low gain and high volume .that reveals the truth and this dude is the truth with a strat .true voodoo blues dark magic.Absolute greatness
That’s @niksevigny who lent him the amps for the gig. Go check out his channel for some awesome content and interviews with both Philip and others. He’s a tone meister, and at this gig he’s having a close ear to how his amps are sounding in Philip’s hands. You can actually see him banging on the corner of one of the amps at some point during the concert, and nodding with his head like; “Yeah like that”. So cool and “tone-knowing” 😎💪🏾🤘🏽🤘🏽.
Ok Now I see Nick at your gig. That’s his shit. He was talking about that on his video. Nick got to play on stage. Very cool. Did the.video person know Nick. This is hilarious and awesome cool and fun for me. Thank you for recording 🙏🏻
the vintage Strat guy in the crowd was looking up the schematics on his phone so he could solve the amp issue, I think the prob was actually the bass rig was going out of phase somehow. the intonation can be wield if the strings are low gauge or just the amp sound making the string vibration move to a sympathetic resonance that it finds more comfortable. I had to change string brands to get rid of it on one of my rigs, it is pretty rare to ever see it happen. part from that I loved the sound of it ALL.
Nik Sevigny was teching that night keeping the amp alive. He was the most humble nicest guy. Nik and Philip was both amazing people and chatted for a while after the show. Cheers.
This guy Philip is a extremely talented guitarist. He sure knows his way around a buck. Definitely a SRV touch. Similar to my buddy, Dan Patlansky. But this guy is special. Trust he get given the credit he deserves.
The music is OUTSTANDING and I'd love to watch the whole thing. There are way too many ads popping in here to make it enjoyable, though. Ads are a necessary evil in this field, but when ads pop in here at the rate they are, they become a nuisance. It's a shame to ruin this music like that.
love the sound of the bass as well, although it went weird for a while when the amp or the bass was going out of resonance. I have had this happen on bass when I tried some new strings once, it just would phase to a close buy sympathetic resonance that it just wanted to resonate at, normally just a semitone above the note it was meant to be making. it is really weird when it happens and very rare thank god.
Thank god for Hendrix and Srv. Without them as inspiration, many of these modern fantastic young blokes could be spearing of into god knows what direction .....no thanks. I like it just the way it is
He's the best there is! I want to know more about his right hand technique. Looks like he's using acrylic nails. Man, that's where some of his speed comes in......hybrid picking.
Rumors say that little baby guitars are born after every performance of this great master!!! To my eyes and ears (I know this will bother many-sorry) he is at least equal to SRV and Hendrix...

Best gig I was never at. All hail UA-cam!
I was there as well. I was sitting on the floor up front to the right.
Without a doubt he is a very gifted player and singer. Wow right up there with the likes of srv . The man is no joke
The one person who gave this a thumbs down is a ignorant troll. This was awesome . Philip Sayce is awesome. Right up there w SRV. No doubt.
There is one guy who hates my audio, he wants to remaster everything i record
..must be the owner of the amp, that Philip blew up!
He's a fair bit better than Stevie, no question.
What a beast of a guitar player.
The dude rockin' out on the left side of the stage knows what's up.
You can tell hes a huge fan! Even knows his lyrics!
That's Philips elder brother. Can't you see the resemblance?!! 😂

@@mathiasheibllstlund7791 yeah I spotted Nik!! But everyone is referring to the guy fanboying it out to the left of the screen.
I love it! Robin Trower comes to mind as far as tone. I love Trowers vibrato! He's not fast like Phil but he's got the TONE!
I was there. Cool to be able to see it again!
Theres The Riff w Nik Sevigny over there with the best support
ia hayn I was just about to ask if that was him in the back corner lol.

Totally phenomenal, wtf
mikey piscopo at 1:26:03 ! that kid shreds!!
I love lots of guitarists, but when I need the full exorcism I go for some Sayce.
"Full exorcism" 🤣
He's the best there is! I want to know more about his right hand technique. Looks like he's using acrylic nails. Man, that's where some of his speed comes in......hybrid picking.
Its probably cos he uses his ring finger to speed pick and cos it will destroy his nail he might as well use acrylics so he doesn't shred his nail
YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dayum! Dat boy can play!
Very energetic blues player nothing new here, still great !keep it alive excellent voice to go with great guitar playing
..if the Flowerpot Men could play guitar, this is what it would look like! Digging in.
Philip sauce is channeling SRV. He’s da man.
what camera/mic did you shoot this on?
Your boy Nik Sevigny in the back making sure he wasn't setting the amp on fire (tough job) eheh
perfect
That's not the wind blowing on the drummer... it's the decibels coming from Philips amps...
