How to Make the Most Money Donating Plasma - READ DESCRIPTION

- No, I am not using the term "donating" incorrectly. Even though you can be compensated monetarily for plasma donations, it is still considered donating. The reason for this is because plasma centers cannot legally buy plasma from people (and if they could, you could sell it for a lot more), so the fee you get paid is to compensate you for the time and inconvenience involved in donating. ALL plasma centers refer to those who give plasma as DONORS. If you make a comment like this: "it's not donating if you're getting paid for it" I will be annoyed and delete your comment. All other comments are welcome!

Don't EVER go to CSL and say you're there to _sell_ plasma. I had a nurse snap at me saying, "We don't pay you for plasma. You *DONATE* plasma and we pay you for your time."
That’s exactly right! Thank you for your comment!
It's true. It's illegal to "sell" plasma; however they didn't need to snap at you about it. Not just a csl thing.
😏 They make millions from donated plasma!!
Except thats a outright lie.
Tomato/tomahto
Yes, CSL resets the new donor bonus after 6 months. I was recently pleasantly surprised.
That’s awesome! 😁👍
Immunotek changed their payout for your first 6 donations it's $100 each I wonder if I decide to switch from CSL to immunotek how long do I need to wait for
Ooh! First one. I just started donating last month. Thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your video. I have also subscribed. 1st time donor to CSL today
You’re welcome! Thanks for subscribing!
There are centers that specifically test for antibodies/allergies. Plasmalab is the one I know of. If your your blood has some weirder stuff, you can make a good deal more
Oh really? That’s really good to know! I’ve never heard of plasmalab.
Access Biologicals is one as well. They’re affiliated with Grifols
Thanks for the info. I'm doing Keto and carnivore diet lifestyle. One doctor suggested to donate blood sense we're eating good amount of red meat in our diet.
You're welcome! Yeah I think you can donate blood or plasma just fine, whichever you decide. 👍
although I am donating with CSL and they recommend NOT eating a lot of fatty stuff.. greasy things... meat is fine, protien YES.. but lots of fatty grease. ?? NO . Also drink LOTS OF WATER. Your donation will typically go faster I think. YOu need to be hydrated though too.
Go to the one that pays you the most on a regular basis and then when you can every six months switch over to the ones offering the most starting money.
Exactly!
Thanks Zach today's my first day donating
You’re welcome! Good luck!
I have O- blood so I’m going to look into the program you talked about, but I’ve never donated and I’m slightly terrified because sometimes I’m a hard stick.
Good luck! 😊
I just started donating and I’m a hard stick too. But they only stick you once. I gave on Monday so that arm was bruised and they couldn’t catch a vein on the other arm. So I got paid and go back today.
I was told no person was allowed to go from center to center they communicate so you can't get away with it
You can’t donate at multiple centers at once, but you can switch centers.
I'm so glad you share this
I’m happy to do it! Thanks for watching
I just want to thank you because I have spoke to my family doc that knows my medical history (I am aware that I will still be preceeded at the donation site as well) and this is something I've been thinking about doing to give back to the community. Only thing is I'm petrified of needles (starting to get better at dealing with it and not as bad as when I was a kid) either way, thank you because your videos are extremely helpful.
I appreciate your comment! I’m so glad my videos have been helpful. I don’t like needles much either so I just try not to look when they put it in or take it out. Good luck!
I'm a second year at Michigan state and I'm actually thinking about donating so maybe I can buy Christmas gifts 😹
That’s not a bad idea!
Here in Lansing as well. Csl is the best around here
I just finished doing Christmas shopping so to recover from it, I’ve started donating😂
@Wildlife Warrior Hey awesome! Midwest life🙌🏾
I went last week for the first time. It wasn’t too bad. Gotta go three more times to complete my new donor bonuses.
Very nice!
Would it be better to start at the beginning of a month to maximize earnings or can you start at the middle of the month? I guess the question is do they go by 30 days or a calendar month? Very informative videos - Thanks!
Good question! It depends on the structure of the plasma center’s new donor bonus. Usually the new donor bonus goes by a 30 day period. After that, it depends on the plasma center. In my area (Utah) CSL pays based on frequency, Grifols pays more the more times you go in a calendar month, and BioLife pays more on the second donation of each week. I hope this helps!
I've been going to CSL for a few years. They are getting really skimpy on payouts. There are no bonuses anymore. They changed to a really crappy ISP. They just just changed the payout from 52 for the first don and 60 for the second to 47 for the first don 65 for the second... they are making it so you have to do the second don to get that 5 bucks... what slime balls!! There have been no bonuses for about 6 months. I'm going to check out bio life. I get emails from CSL saying, oh you're a hero, this is how many lives you've saved, this is how many patients you've helped...it's a bunch of BS lol...they don't EVEN make you feel special when you go in.... bio life is a longer drive but, CSL is really getting bad!! I donate 9 times a month if the month allows for it...
Dang! I totally get where you’re coming from. BioLife in my area does a similar thing where it’s $40 for your first donation of the week and $75 for your second…
Good video...background music distracting though. 🙂
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback 🙏
Are you required to claim your payments on taxes as income?
Yes 👍
I'm a rh negative but there's no CSL here in Sacramento area 😔
Dang! There may be other centers near you that have programs for rh negative donors.
There is 1 in Citrus Heights, on Birdcage across the street from Target. (Used to be Tower Records)
What about those of us with AB+? I understand our plasma is like gold.
How do you find out what Blood Type you have. Do they test for your blood type?🤔
I believe they do, and they may be able to tell you after your first donation or two when your blood test results are back. Generally they don’t share your blood test results, but you could always ask!
You have to prod and twist their arm to get them to tell you.
Any idea how much the compensation is for Anti-D program?
It depends on your plasma center, and not many centers have the program. Based on my research, it is likely something like $100 per donation, but there are other unique steps for that process that may make it so you donate less frequently. If I were you, I would see if one of your local centers have the anti-D program and see what they say about it.
I have a question, im planing on going tomorrow for my very first donation how do i make the most out of my first donation because im not sure on how much i would get on my first donation, any help?
@@unknowngamer8736 make sure you eat a high protein meal before and hydrate well! As far as how much the pay you it just depends on your local center. There’s not much you can do to affect how much you get paid besides donating as frequently as possible, so twice a week.
@@zach_in_black okay thank I hope I make the most of it I'm hoping I earn atleast 30 dollars for my first donation
Any Updates on the Anti D program?
I haven’t been able to participate in it yet unfortunately. If you have negative blood you could call around to see if any plasma centers near you have the program. It seems like it just depends on the center, and most don’t seem to have it for some reason.
@@zach_in_black I was able to find some info for Grifols and CSL under their Specialty Plasma programs however for the Anti-D program if you are female you must be post menopausal or surgically sterile in order to participate
@@liveforit86 interesting! Good to know!
Wow great info
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful.
Immunotek told me if im going to switch I have to wait 2 weeks but since I went today to CSL would immunotek check the database when i go next week to donate
That’s a good question! I’m not sure if they would actually check… I’ve been able to switch centers right away without a waiting period before, but I’ve never donated with immunotek.
Great info 💖
Thank you!
How bad is it ACTUALLY to donate at two places in one week knowing they both let you do 2 visits a week. So I’m going 4 times a week, but space then out the best I can.
You have been actually going 4 times a week? It takes the body up to 48 hours to replenish your plasma, so going that often means your body is probably not fully recovering between donations. I don’t know what the consequences of that are for your health, but at the very least I would expect that you would have a weakened immune system.
I have A- is that in demand?
Negative blood types are definitely a lot more uncommon. If you have a plasma center nearby that has an anti-D plasma program they usually pay a bit more. That program is exclusive to donors with negative blood types.
What do you mean that they give you immunizations? I haven't heard of that before. I donate blood and this was suggested to me. I have blood that can go to kids.
In the past they’ve had a program for donors that recently received a tetanus shot. They also paid donors that previously had COVID extra for a while too. It’s about the antibodies in your system. Depending on the situation it can make your plasma more valuable.
@@zach_in_black thanks for your quick reply.
How much do you get for each donation do they pay you when you're done or what?
It depends on your plasma center and the current promotions, but I would say the average is $40-$50 per donation. They give you a prepaid card and generally load the funds within an hour of finishing your donation.
If I just moved to south Carolina to a domestic violence shelter here can't get proof of address so I can't sc id can I use my ga information
I’m not sure! I would just call your local center and ask them all of your questions. They could probably work something out for you!
is the amount received taxable
Yes it is.
If someone have o negative they can make more money?
There are plasma centers that have special programs for negative blood types, but you’d have to see if your local center is offering it.
@@zach_in_black can you guide me what kind of a special program please so I can ask them
@@azizrizvi2234 I’ve heard that they’re called Anti-D programs. I would just say that you know that some plasma centers pay extra for negative blood types and see if they have a program for negative blood type donors.
Hey I went to grif and I showed them my social security and i.d. with the same first name and last name and they declined because my i.d. had middle name
That’s crazy! I’m sorry I have never heard of that happening before…
@@zach_in_black yes was nuts I had proof of my existence and they say nope🤣
@@twitchstreamersclips2988 what the heck that’s so weird!
@@zach_in_black yes everything match except that my middle name is not on my social security only on my i.d.
You get paid monthly?
No I just like to track how much I can make in a month. I get paid every donation.
The process is not uncomfortable
Is there an age limit?
I believe you have to be at least 18, but I don’t think there’s an upper age limit as long as you can pass the physical and blood pressure screening
Hey I thought if you went to a plasma center ( in my case I also go to csl ) you can only go to one plasma center at a time? Meaning if I got to csl this week I can't go to BioLife next week?
Thanks for clarification
Right, you can only go to one at a time, but you can switch whenever you want. So I would go to one center until I got the full new donor bonus and then switch which centers I attend. They keep track of your donations with your SSN so if you tried to go to more than one center at once and exceed 2 donations a week they would know. I hope this makes sense!
@@zach_in_black Silly question, but also assume it's taxable income that you have to keep track of & then.. must be claimed end of year? Am also A- , btw... Interested in & will look for that info you mentioned. When I was pregnant many moons ago, I had to get an injection during pregnancy & one right after delivery because of my Rh factor.
@@mmanda515 yes it is taxable. I believe I did make the video mentioning RH- AntiD donors… let me see.
When plasma centers test your blood beforehand is there a way that they can check to see what blood type I am because I have no idea what mine is
That’s a good question! I’m honestly not sure. They may if you were specifically interested in the anti-D program? I would just ask your local center. It makes sense that they could do that for you since they are testing your blood anyway!
They will be able to tell you when you go in. When they pull your blood to test.
Thanks!
@@zach_in_black Do you have to go through an actual physical or just a finger stick leading up to?
@@mmanda515 there is a physical before your first donation, each donation after there is just a brief screening involving a finger prick.
BioLife reset after 6 months?
That’s what they had told me a few years ago, but I don’t know for sure if that’s still true today.
I wouldn't do this for less than $100 each donation or without long breaks in between.
Same completing my new donor bonus and once it’s over I’m done
@@pedromata3931 it ain’t worth it if it’s less then 100 lol
How come?
Maybe you should try to refer people through your channel CSL pays good money to both
Yeah I had that thought! I don’t think I can without making some of my personal information public. Maybe I should look more closely at how referrals work though because that is a really good idea.
@@zach_in_black Facebook messenger might be the way to go if their serious
Yeah that’s true. Thanks for your suggestions!
The people you are referring make money too, I would love to get someone’s referral before I go
@@ashleymclellan2806 Yes you both make extra money plus there is a coupon on the web site for a extra 10$ so hopefully he hooks you up
I’m 40 how many i can donate per month
You can donate just as frequently as everyone else as long as you’re cleared to donate! Up to twice a week.
@@zach_in_black but Google says I eight week a once?
@@azizrizvi2234 you can only donate whole blood every 8 weeks because your body needs that long to recover, but donating plasma is different. Instead of donating whole blood, your plasma is separated from the red blood cells during the process and the red blood cells are returned to you. So you’re able to recover much quicker from a plasma donation because your body only has to replace the plasma, which can be done quickly through hydration and high protein meals.
$30 per visit is not it they need fix it
@@716JoshTG I completely agree!
Has anyone donated to bio life?
Yeah I’ve gone there a lot!
❤❤❤
And csl Is the same you have to be gone 6 months
That's where I just gave for the 1st time today. So I could skip 6 months and get the 1k again?
If they offer it yes but you must complete the new donor bonus I'm currently donating at octapharma and their center pays more or atleast where I'm at but csl is my favorite center by far. Just don't jump to much they don't really like that lol
Keep in mind if you have a 6 mo gap in donations at CSL then they make you go through most of the onboarding process again (instructional video, physical examination, etc) so expect to be there for as long as 3 hrs.
Your finger 👉 says it all.
😂
I need sir
Anyone know about anti d program what they give you my blood group is negative what to dooo please help i want to get more money by antibody
I would Google anti d programs in your area to see which plasma centers do it. You could also call local plasma centers to ask if they have an anti d program. If they do, just tell them you want to do it and they will help you get started!
@@zach_in_black i don't want to waste time i just want that antibody in me injected and my body will start making antibody
The basic question was that what they inject you ur blood group is A- I KNOW u didn't go for this program
@@yusrahabib5232 they would give you whole blood infusions so your body starts making the antibodies. I don’t know more than that, sorry.
@@zach_in_black thank you so much you are giving so much information and helping alot
@@yusrahabib5232 you’re welcome
You seem so tired
Yeah donating plasma is really draining…
Bio life only pays $20.00 to $40.00 per donation...... Beware its very misleading!!1
Biolife pays more with Promotions.
One advice. Do Not donate your blood for money, for Any money. Only donate, if needed, to your loved ones!❣️
Bad advice but thanks
Do you have any idea how many people would die every single day if that's what we all did!?🙄🤦🏽♀️
