Sidenote on the torso articulation, you've always missed the fact the torso can unhinge kinda like the RG Nu Gundam. You actually get a hell of an ab crunch out of it, better than most kits I've seen.

It's not even piloted by the same character and shares no parts with the Blue Frame....where did you get your information? Because a 15 second search proved you completely wrong.
@@TrevorXStrydeR technically you are correct, but in terms of model kits, an MG Astray is an MG Astray. The parts are fully interchangeable/swappable. So in my head at least it still counts.

Im no Mecha but here's my review. It was my very first kit cause it literally was (and probably still is) the most bada$$ motherf!cking g!ddamn collection of plastic i had ever seen in my life and the 60 odd bucks it costs felt like pennies after i built that gunpla' head and chest. And it got only more and more beautiful as the pieces came together. It cannot hold up either sword on its own and the hip joint broke and is impossible to replace w/o buying a whole seperate kit. I was so enraptured by the sheer awesomeness of that model kit and the amazing engineering that went into its design (my god, its f!cking knee articulation is divine design in plastic) that I literally could not stop from touching and posing it for weeks. I eventually wore out a joint that I could not easily see and repair before it fully broke. Buy it, build it, and handle with care. Or have a repair method and/or spare parts handy. I bought the Astray Hi Resolution model since it had a far more sturdy figure for an inner frame and it is even more beautiful. I of course lost the thumb to one of the hands from handling it so much and it now stands in a place of honor above my drafting table. Now if you will excuse me, I have to buy the Astray Noir and fill my life with even more Astray happiness.
This is the next one in my backlog. P-Bandai announced just a few days after I built the PG Red Frame and didn't think I needed another one but I love the look of it with the flight unit and the BuCue head just made it a must get. Such a great little reference.

Mecha I don’t know if you will ever see this comment but the MG astray gundams have a mechanism in the torso where you pull out the torso joints (like the RG NU) and it gives it a huge ab crunch
i got mg astray red frame last year 2020.its so awesome.its my favorite kit so far.i dont have any issue or problem for holding all the weapons specially doing the posing the kit..so great.
II hate that the MG Sangoku Astray's frame is the same bland generic red as the Red Frame EVEN THOUGH THE FRAME OF THE SANGOKU ASTRAY IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DARK METALLIC GLOSSY WINE RED
@@JTruong3rd the problem is that you have to paint the whole inner frame as well as being mindful of where the armor parts plug in. I hand paint my kits, which makes it a lot harder.

If the BuCue head seems of High Grade quality, it's probably just a scaled up mold of the High Grade Red Frame Astray Flight Pack, I have the HG and the BuCue head has just about the same amount of detail
Greetings. I've been watching some of your videos over the last year or so, and I absolutely love the Astray designs. Since you're channel is dedicated to this stuff, I thought maybe you could help me out. My wife and I both love the Astray, and we wanted to build our own kits side by side with our favorite colors in place of the red for our anniversary, but we mainly want the Gundam with the rifle and iconic shield. We don't care about all the extra added stuff like the huge swords and stuff, so is there any other way we can get the MG Astray with the rifle and shield without having to spend a couple hundred on P-Bandai kits? Any help or just pointing us in the right direction would really be appreciated.
Would this work with the HiRM as well? There's a hole in the back if you move a part underneath the backpack but I can't tell if the shape of the peg on the flight unit would still fit in
I have trouble with the RG. The white-red belly armor is too loose, making the building process very frustrating. And the red V frame on its head is fragile.
do any of you guys have a gunpla to reccomend me? I really want a cheap gunpla under $50 but also I want one that is master grade. I heard that 1/144 is really small but it is the cheapest one i could find.
Unfortunately, backpack incompatibility is literally one of the setting features of Cosmic Era. There is an adaptor but it's for strikers to wizards/silhouettes (not the astray backpacks) and it belongs to the Astray Out Frame (Testament's brother suit). And yeah the only actual change between the red frame and the kai is the removal of the base astray backpack on the kai since the fancy new tactical arms backpack takes up more space than the original flight pack. EDIT: Huh, my mistake, I guess Blue Frame had a Striker Adapter at some point?
funny how the high grade astray red frame flight unit is a standard release with the same stuff in the box minus decals and extra katana

They only save those glossy metallic for special occasions, can't get it retail so best option for that is to paint.

The flight unit isn't a striker pack it's a modified M1 Astray flight pack hence why it doesn't use the adapter
If it came with adapters for a few things you'd be upset it didn't make adapters for more things. The kit being by itself for itself is all it can be
