i dont think so, i bought secondhand daban Strike and white plastic still as white as white paper.... hell most of my white-ish gundam (bootleg or Bandai) all still in great condition, you just store it where the sun doesnt shine... but i am on your side about the stability tho....
maybe use a top coat or something? mr color's top coat is quite good so far. Had an MG Daban strike freedom and it was still white.. my only hardship during the build process is sometimes the pegs just won't fit as easily as bandai..
it depends on which brand you are buying, daban is one of the best knockoff brand when it comes to plastic quality, you might be talking about the now defunct ones

I always build Bandai kits, I really want Unicorn Perfectibility, but Bandai Perfectibility price are too brutal for me. I already found both MG and RG Daban, here I am, asking for final question before buying it.
daban many weaknesses . as in joining it's easy to lose. snafit a bit hard . and there are some parts that are prone to breakage. but when it comes to appearance, sometimes it's better than Bandai. actually both of these kits are not recommended to buy. but for just display this kit is beautiful enough to look at
