      😊Thank you so much. This helps me believe, once and for all, that film really can look amazing on a low budget with minimal gear. It just takes a good eye for creativity and planning. Many thanks! Any tips on how you're shooting your ISO, aperture, shutter speed, exposure, etc. for the dark scenes on the Sony FX3?

      When I bought the Phantom Luts by Joel Famularo, his guide to using the luts mentioned this. He said that Sony fixed the issue with needing to over expose and that is was not necessary anymore. And I think the overexpose things only applies to the A7III and older sensors. Not sure if that's true but he has done a lot of work with those luts and understands what's required to use them. I think Danny mentioned at some point that he only sticks with the Native ISOs of SLOG3 and only adds lighting or ND to keep the cleanest image possible. This is just my understanding with things I've read and watched.

  • @HuntmanC68
    @HuntmanC68 3 роки тому +4

    I love this breakdown and I love how beautifully this was shot. The only thing I disagree with is the "little kids don't do things that make sense" line, I feel like they really do. While reactions to things may be exaggerated in a child, their actions do serve purpose and this allows us as adults to be invested in their development in the story. Having them do things that really don't make sense disconnects us from the story. Thinking back to childhood I think that we can all find justifications for our actions no matter how arbitrary they may seem to us now, from simple curiosity to immature anger and I think that is a far more interesting rabbit hole to delve into.

    • @greggh
      @greggh Рік тому

      But it did make sense. Pro players are always sitting on the bench eating and spitting sunflower seeds. Buying the seeds and trying to spit them showed he wanted to be like them. To one day be a pro. Maybe Danny knew this on a subconscious level. Or maybe his intern came up with the idea and didn't explain the reason clearly to him.

  • @bryancavellier8957
    @bryancavellier8957 3 роки тому +4

    Nice lovely story again, Danny. Thanks.
    You mentioned 4 days shooting. Could you please be more specific, what means 4 days /8 hours a day, more, less/ ? And how much time/days took the rest of the production: Planning, shooting, postproduction and time between those steps to settle all ideas down - roughly in procentage. I would say preproduction could take more than 4 days, post maybe also...
    Last question concerns Preproduction phase. Do you first do Blue Sky notes, than scene mood list and further build shot to shot list? Is your preproduction workflow more or less similar on all such storytelling projects or allways different? Greetings

    Good to see you're using Premiere Pro. I see many UA-camrs start using DaVinci Resolve. A great program. Obviously also amazing for coloring, but PP is still working well for me. The price not so much though. 😉
    Also love the light of the tubes. Too much for my budget right now but they produce amazing soft light.

    Hi Danny! Big fan of your channel. Can you please explain how you make a song sound like it is coming from a speaker in the scene? @11:48
