For context: I was one of the 5000 dms who by that tag on ODJ caption wanted to let him know how excited I was to see a filmmaker get the tag under a video! From there he responded and over time I've even been able to ask a few questions that's he's answered! I've been subscribed since he put out his first videos.. and one day randomly watching and I saw a large YT like Cody blue tell him he would make on here .. ✨ then was able to actually watch it happen and still see how he continued to show the upmost humility and love for creating and helping others! You deserve it DG ✅

I think besides all the points he made, the biggest thing to take out of this is video is who you know (networking). A lot of creatives think that just cause you’re talented you’ll get far, but it’s really when you put yourself out there that you can really achieve your goals. That’s why sometimes you’ll see people not as creative as you or skilled get jobs you might not get, sometimes it’s just who you know.
Lets take that a step further. The real success comes from who knows you. People name drop all the time about who they've met or who they know, The snowball effect to his success came when all those people knew of him and his work.

This is an amazing story dude! As a filmmaker myself, I know it seems impossible to get where you want to be. The fact is, that there are probably a lot of ways to get where you want to be. It’s not going to be easy. Some ways will take longer than others. Just get started and if you work hard enough, eventually you’ll get there
needed this reminder today. my mental health has been at a weird point lately which has caused me to be more withdrawn than usual. this gave me the push to step outside my comfort zone and slowly build up current and new relationships. thank you.
