I love how humble you are. You say you're by far not the most experienced or professional person but you've gotten to the point where you're inspiring people from not just at a beginning standpoint but also a professional one. For the record I think you're at the professional one.

Your calm, serious “I’m a 27 year old man and I almost pooped myself earlier this year” comment killed me 😂

Thank for sharing Danny, really interesting approach.
Starting to shoot on C200 (and BMPCC 6k) made me to start story board almost everything I film these days - mainly because the raw files are so huge that you can’t afford to run around shooting anything you wish (like I did with EOS R for example), but as a result it just shifts focus on a pre-production giving more structure and consistency and just in general making me a better filmmaker.

Incredible breakdown. I've come to a point in my career where I'm transitioning from commercial work to short films/documentaries like I did when I was a kid. The creative burnout I've experienced has been challenging, as I've been documenting the journey, but I'll be sure to try this process out to see what sticks.

Showing how the budget looked really helped me a lot. I'm in the middle of shooting a spec myself, but, because it's my first one, I don't have the money to hire actors or crew, so it's all free work. Hard thing with that is scheduling. If money isn't involved people can't drop what they're doing, especially since I'm doing this for free. Might have bit off more than I can chew with this first project but I'm learning! :D

    - Do you record externally for prores raw or internally with log?
    - Which do you prefer to shoot in, prores raw or log?
    - What do you color grade in?
