Maybe you have a zone that does not exist anymore, or a broken sensor.
Don't let those zone active to avoid false alarm.

Hello, thank you for the video - we bought a house with a broken sensor that we don't care to replace - but everytime we arm the system we have to bypass that door contact.
I would like to delete the sensor, BUT I do not know the "ZONE NUMBER" (so I don't know which zone to deactivate)
I am afraid of deleting a zone i want to keep by accident (then I can't get it back easily?), but I still do want to delete that broken sensor (deactivate that zone so I dont have to keep bypassing the sensor to arm the system).
Is there a way to figure out what ZONE NUMBER is my broken sensor? Right now it just gives the description of the sensor (like "_____ door", " ______ window" etc - it is not listing a zone number that I can see)

Hi there really informative video - thank you very much. I tried this approach with my DSC Power832 with a DSC LED keypad. Using your approach on that keypad does not work. Are there different steps available? Thanks for your help !
As far as I know the only thing that can be different is that in some case you need to input master code before bypass.

I have a zone that is not working (the entire zone doesn't work...the sensors are not bad). Using the procedure in your video - i.e. Section 202 - shows zone is enabled. Other zones work as they are supposed to. What can I check/troubleshoot next to get this zone to operate? Is there a way to use the keypad to check for error codes for a particular zone?
If it was working before, that must be a physical issue.
Check the wiring and connections.
My DSC panel looks the same but all the menu codes are completely different. This is outdated info or for a different revision which you may want to clarify.
Hum. This is a DSC Power Series... You might be confuse if you have a power series NEO.

One of my door sensors is no longer working, so I want to replace with a newer sensor model. How would I actually delete that from Zone 12 to enroll a new device in that Zone 12 spot, instead of just disabling the zone? When I disable zone 12, it still says my faulty sensor is open.
I am also getting a Zone Fault error that says Fire Zone. Is that a standard error or is Fire Zone something the previous owner created? I just moved in and am trying to understand this legacy system. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi Drodrek! To replace the sensor, you can go in 804, then the number of the zone, and input the new ID number of the sensor. Howerver about the fire zone, it's hard to say what is your trouble.

Hi Great videos, thanks for you taking the time to help. I was wondering if you could help with a problem. I have a DSC1832 system with TR5164 2 way wireless. My keypad is WT5500.
I am getting a general system trouble message. It shows zone bypass msg in Zone 1 (motion detector). I removed zone 1 but the msg is still there. I reinstated Zone 1 and same msg. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi John. Thank you for your comment. That is a complicated question by message. I did get a lot of trouble with power series wireless. At the end I fully stop to install wireless stuff on power series at costumer places. The new NEO wireless work really well howerver.
I stop using it because it always get me in some trouble like that.
There is the test at section 904 in istaller menu (*8) that you can do for every wireless zone to see if position is good.
1 beep is got
3 is bad.
You must have maximum 1 - 3 beep out of 20.
Other than that maybe just power cycle your alarm system.

I'm pretty sure you can yes. But I don't remember by heart what is the kind of zone number it is.
That must be assign in section 001 of installer menu.

This video says how to delete a zone, however you are showing how to dissable a zone. These are two different steps.
Well once it's disable the zone is delete. It's the very same thing. You can also bypass a zone with *1. This I would call disable.

1. am doing wireless zones from 17 to 24
2. I went into 212 turn on 1 for 17
3. I went to 002 and and set the 1st one to 03 the rest to 00
4. I went to 117 and turn on 8.
adding wireless
1. I went to 804
2. I select one 17
3 . I enter in the sn#
then exit
***I repeat this for zone 18 on partition 2 like going into 212 turning on 1, 2 for 17 and 18, 002 setting the 1st two 03, 03 for 17 and 18 and going into 118 and turning on 8 to say its wireless.
however, ony zone 17 is working,
why is it only zone 17 is working on partition 2 and I why cannot get any other wireless zone to work. I have 5 wireless contacts to setup
also, is there an order I have to put them in?

Hi Bobby. Quickly like that everything seam fine. What I am planning to do in the following mode is a complete programming video of the DSC Power series system. We will for sure see wireless programing as well.
But, actually are you trying to program a motion detector?
Know that they take pause after the sense a motion. Maybe you don't have any trouble. You can test your device in section 904.
@@HowToPM l am trying to install wireless CONTACTS "not motions" on zones 17 to 21 on partition 2. I activated 03 in 002.
I activated the zones in 212 by turning on 12345 to say am using partition 2.
3. I went into each zone example zone 17, l turn on 8 in 117, 118, 119, 120, and 121.
For some reason am only getting zone 17 to work.
What I'm doing wrong?
