I will not be buying my bf anything like a car or rental property while we are dating. But after the breakup, he decided to do a "shout out announcement" that he was single, ready to mingle. Biggest lesson learn for me is to never post any bf on my social media unless he is my husband. Yeah, mines does not like gifts. I got him something out of appreciation for how much he's done for me. It was something simple, a journal and cool business planner for the new year. Wish I knew all this before I got involved with a Narcissist who played the victim from day one. I tried to help him get back on his feet and ended up in 6 figure debt taking care of his every need and he’s still broke, homeless, without a job (he’s happy calling himself an entrepreneur but makes no money) and has kids. He seems to be allergic to getting a regular job. Working with an attorney to try and get some of it back through a promissory note that he signed but I’m probably screwed since he’s has no assets! Forget gifts, never loan a man money period! I never thought I would ever be caught up in something like this in my life.

Good question. How do we love boyfriends? We know what NOT to do. From my understanding, we just respond to what the man is doing and be there for them. And on special occasions do a little something more. It seem like men just want a companion? Who supports them, is loyal, does activities with them, encourages them, inspires them, tell the truth but talks sweet and treats them nice. I don think we need to actually DO something other than just BE. And on holidays and birthdays, promotions etc, make them feel special. ....
Give the guy LOTS of praise and "strokes"! It doesn't have to be expensive gifts or sex. I make a man feel good about HIMSELF when he is with me. I give every man that comes in contact with me PURPOSE (giving to me, helping me, guiding me, etc.) and a "masculine energy" man loves this! You may every now and again bake him something that he loves or little tokens of your affection. I will give a man a back rub (physical touch is BIG among men!) or cook him his favorite meal. This is a word i been trying to tell my female friends for the longest. Back in HS i made the mistake of trying to buy love and that was a disaster. I will not be buying my bf anything like a car or rental property while we are dating. I already turn my nose up when men get giddy when i tell them on a date that i enjoy cooking, as if they’re abt to get three square meals a day out of me lol. I’m honestly so tired of ppl treating relationships like marriage and turning around and looking down on those that are truly courting. Yeah, mines does not like gifts. I got him something out of appreciation for how much he's done for me. It was something simple, a journal and cool business planner for the new year. He gives me gifts. Now I just give him a card and he likes it. His love language is quality time. So if it's a special day, like birthday, I'll do like an experience, nothing big but something he likes to do. This year is paint and sip. I'm not spending a lot of money and he would not want me to. Better for me :)

Wish I knew all this before I got involved with a Narcissist who played the victim from day one. I tried to help him get back on his feet and ended up in 6 figure debt taking care of his every need and he’s still broke, homeless, without a job (he’s happy calling himself an entrepreneur but makes no money) and has kids. He seems to be allergic to getting a regular job. Working with an attorney to try and get some of it back through a promissory note that he signed but I’m probably screwed since he’s has no assets! Forget gifts, never loan a man money period! I never thought I would ever be caught up in something like this in my life.

Good question. How do we love boyfriends? We know what NOT to do. From my understanding, we just respond to what the man is doing and be there for them. And on special occasions do a little something more. It seem like men just want a companion? Who supports them, is loyal, does activities with them, encourages them, inspires them, tell the truth but talks sweet and treats them nice. I don think we need to actually DO something other than just BE. And on holidays and birthdays, promotions etc, make them feel special. ....
Give the guy LOTS of praise and "strokes"! It doesn't have to be expensive gifts or sex. I make a man feel good about HIMSELF when he is with me. I give every man that comes in contact with me PURPOSE (giving to me, helping me, guiding me, etc.) and a "masculine energy" man loves this! You may every now and again bake him something that he loves or little tokens of your affection. I will give a man a back rub (physical touch is BIG among men!) or cook him his favorite meal. I NEVER out give a man though! My gifts are NEVER more expensive than something that he has purchased for me. Men need to "win" and when you "spoil them" as Tony stated, they really don't feel good about themselves as men. They will accept these lavish gifts, but in the end, a masculine energy man will resent it.
