  • Construction Pine and Plywood Bowl. This bowl is set at a diagonal, which has created a chunky, unique edge.
    I am really pleased with this project, as it was all from scraps of wood.
    Thank you very much for watching.

    That is really different with the jagged edge. Makes an unusual and unique bowl. I will have to try that, thanks. Love the end of your videos with the before and after shots, few people do that👍.

    My boys (12 and 9) said "That's cool" and I agree 👍🏿. I think it was a great choice to keep the irregular lip/ edge and the end grain + plywood pattern is superb.

    Just found your channel...you have inspired me. Why is the bowl sander any beter than just using sandpaper by hand in the different grits?

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  2 роки тому

      The rotation of the bowl sander avoids any streaks and uneven patches, plus your hand does not suffer from friction burns. Honestly the difference in finish is like night and day. I would be totally lost without it. Thank you so much for watching and good luck with your projects! 😎👍

    Upgrading my lathe and went charnwood after watching your review went with the 1420v. Was just wondering how long you leave the glue to dry before turning. Great vids keep them coming🤘

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  2 роки тому

      Great to hear. I generally give the glue 2 days to dry fully, often longer in winter. Thanks for watching 👍

    Very cool! Would you mind helping me understand the what sanding sealer does, and it’s value for a turning project? Only been turning about two years and sure would appreciate your thoughts on using sanding sealer. Thank you very much!

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  2 роки тому +2

      Sanding sealer improves the finish 100%! It binds together and loose fibres, allowing a significantly better foundation to add a finish on. I think of it like my wife putting makeup on, build up from a foundation, then apply a finish. Honestly once you start using a decent sealer, you’ll never look back. Thanks 😊

      @@RDMWoodturning Decent sealer? Have a suggestion or two for a good sealer as a place to start at a reasonable price? Thank you!

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  2 роки тому +1

      I like Chestnut and Mylands cellulose sealers. There are others out there, but I’ve used those brands the most over the last couple of years. Best of luck.

    Well done that man!! What were the dimensions of the pine and ply please?

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  2 роки тому

      The Pine was 38mm x 89mm about 200mm in length (1.5 inch x 3.5 inch x 8 inch). I think that the ply was 5.5 mm thick. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
