Excellent work. I used some 40mm oak worktop and it turned out great. Tried again a month later but the wood had started to unglue itself. Used a piece that looked ok but it ended up throwing a large chunk at me. Seriously impressive bruise on the ribs 😬

Nice bowl.

I love it!!! I did something similar a few months ago when I miraculously found an offcut from my birch workshop bench. I cut it down and reglued it up to make a bowl blank and then, added a bit of decoration on the outside (two parallel lines), staining the area between and burning the lines to make them stand out. Reclaiming leftovers from home projects...ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!

It’s a nice bowl and I thank you for sharing. Four days and three coats of oil is why I use wax 🙂🌞

Such a nice bowl containing heartwood and sapwood. One reason I seldom use oil is the drying time and I acquired a wheelie bin to hold shavings prior to transporting them to my compost bins 🌞

Awesome save! I had the same thing happen to me with ash also, except while I waited a couple weeks for the resin to cure, the bowl warped so bad it couldn’t be turned.
