@@apoorvadesaraju332 yes! And just that small snippet of black swan we saw recently imagine that full scale, jimin and jungkook be flying if they do that, rm and Jin be running up walls 😅
During J-Hope's part where it looks like he's talking to himself, an interesting thought is that yes he is talking to himself but he's talking to the part of himself that Suga represents. All 3 of the rappers have a song identified with the 3 representations in the mind per Carl Jung's map of the soul, RM represents the persona, Suga represents the shadow and J-Hope represents the ego. So you have the ego talking to the shadow or their darker self that they try to hide and it makes the scene in the MV even more intense. Then at the end of the MV you have Jungkook on the balcony and the shadow disappears or seems to merge into his other shadow kind of signifying them accepting that darker part of themselves.

As someone who isn't a dancer, it's so easy for me to look at Jimin's dancing and be like "he's amazing!". Because he is and I can see that. But I can't see all the technical aspects of his dance, I can just see that it is beautiful. One of my favourite things to watch is professional dancers react to Jimin's dancing, especially ballet or contemporary dancers because they have a lot of the same background training as Jimin. They are able to point out aspects of his dance that look so simple to the average viewer but are actually incredibly difficult to do as explained and demonstrated by the professional dancer. It makes me so proud of him and BTS in general, as well as being in even more awe of his dancing.
Black Swan is a total G I F T. The lyrics are some of the most raw and deep BTS did on that album, the Choreo is *chefs kiss*, the video is pure cinematographic gold, and we didn't even expect it. Will love this forever.
this is so exquisitely beautiful, artist being scared of losing their passion is compared as an artist's first death. *Everyone reading this make sure to check out the orchestral version that's epic asf too*
I love the subtlety that is used to show the Jung's Theory withing the visuals. Suga & RM have a moving shadow in their verses because they represent the Persona & the Shadow, both steps on the Map where the total of the person isn't accepted. J-Hope on the other hand doesn't have a seperate shadow because he represents the Ego, the final step in the Map of the Soul journey where acceptance of all the aspects of the Soul is the final outcome.
Of all of BTS's considerable discography I consider this song and mv to be their masterpiece. It's pure art on every level and masterfully done. The theater is real, it's the Los Angeles Theatre, no longer open to the public but can be rented for functions. A tiny bit of back story: in 2018 BTS considered disbanding. They were overwhelmed by the explosion of their popularity and felt weighed down by the responsibility that brings. As Suga said, they are just singers and dancers, and never wanted to become ambassadors for their country or be compared to the Beatles. RM said they felt they were on a rocket that just kept going up and up with no end until they found themselves in the stratosphere with no oxygen. For a period of time they debated whether this was really the life they wanted. Fortunately they decided to stay together, embrace their new roles and travel their road together. But that time period was really painful for all the members and this is the song that came out of that pain. It asks the question of what happens if you lose your passion for the one thing that defines you. It's heartbreaking and stunning. Jordan your knowledge is outstanding, better then anyone else I've seen on UA-cam. You really know your shit. Thank you for sharing.
No one in the K-pop industry can hold a candle to BTS's talents and brilliance. Hell, the entirety of todays music industry can't hold a candle to these men. That's why BTS is known as being their own genre. They shine too bright. Thank you for your reaction!

I actually found this even more interesting since you're covering a vid that was actually shot, instead of animated. Thanks for your perspective and info!
For the “I see myself” lyric I like the way you edited it also but with just the visual element the way they have it it feels like he’s saying he sees himself in the viewer who might be going through something as well. Whether that actually ties into the lyrics I’m not sure off the top of my head but that’s the feeling it gives me when watching that scene
I really love how you explain almost every single thing when it comes to the editing or camera movements! It really helps understanding the thoughts behind the video :) And it’s also really nice to listen to you talking because you seem to be so excited about editing that the viewer (aka me) also gets excited and wants to know what happened. Keep up the amazing work, I really love watching these reactions!

It’s so interesting to hear different peoples perspectives on this video from various people whether dancers, musicians, artists, editors, etc. You described things I hadn’t thought of. Thank you! P.S. Why do you remind me of Kirk from the Gilmore Girls a little in your profile (side of face) in video 🙃🥰
SO 6:00 when he is talking about the Match-Cuts, it reminds me of the Fan-Edits when fans will take performances from two or three different performances of the same song but Match-Cut them aligning the choreos and producing those amazing edits everyone knows and loves.
Black Swan is the best. I love your reaction and you showed behind the scenes too ! You put a lot of good work in your reaction. Love BTS and yeah they are so good
I came looking for this reaction and was not disappointed. The backlighting added so much to the emotional impact of Jimin’s dance. I also loved shadow play theme throughout. A slight homage to classic theatre tropes. Wide angled shots are always amazing when done this well. Thanks for the great reaction.
The way his mouth immediately drops immediately he actually starts to pay attention...hands down one of the best, most artistic songs/MV's by BTS. Music, lyrics, dance moves, concept...everything is *chef's kiss*
5:45 that is my favourite cut too ... I don't know anything about video editing at all but that cut right there felt and looked amazing... Your video editing skills and you are great 💜
The location, costume, hair/makeup, camera work, editing, choreography, music,... everything is absolutely flawless. Their did and Bts really did something here I mean this deserves Grammy for best music video but sure... we know Grammy would never acknowledge that
My 5 cents about the Suga's shadow scene, I actually prefer how they made it. Because, even tho your version makes a lot of sense, personally, I feel like it would have been too much "pointing out". Like he is singing "I saw myself" and touching his shadow and I would be like "ye, ye, I get it, he saw himself". But this way he saw himself (his shadow) and THEN told the line so it's not too obvious, and once you make the connection, that makes it more powerful, at least that's how I felt. Like it's more powerful that it's not so "pointed out" since the whole song is so metaphoric and layered. :D Keep being awesome! ❤️
Agree. I felt like it would be too much on the nose him singing it and showing it. They show it, you get the idea and then you see his face as he's singing "I saw myself". There's a different connection with the audience there. I think Jordan is too matchy-matchy in his ideas, like you have to match the lyrics exactly to the image but the effect you can create when that doesn't happen is also very powerful.
I really appreciate these reaction/breakdown videos because they’re not just full of hype screaming and fanboying (which is obviously OK) because youtube is already full of them, but Jordan actually brings interesting information about the MV and is very sharp to catch small details which people who lack the knowledge in shooting and directing videos (like me) miss. Like in this one, I never noticed the Jin’s reflections not turning around. Very informative and interesting content indeed! +1 subscriber.
Fact: Jimin of BTS, Kai of EXO and Taemin of shinEE are good friends and the best dancers in the industry. Clarification: Kai said this statement himself, of course there are many talented dancers, I am merely quoting his saying. I LOVE how you point out things I didn't even catch or notice (like the shadow on ceiling above RM) - and also explain the technical side of what we are seeing, esp cuts from one scene to a different & you explained the Jin Mirror scene! . One thing I absolutley love about this video is the cinemetography, the play on dark and light.
The reason I love professional people do a reaction to BTS MV is they know what they do, they explain how hard it is to make such scene, such move, such sound. They make us realized how hard BTS and their staff work to make the MV as good as they could for us to watch and enjoy
Thank you for doing Black Swan! I loved it and had a lot of fun watching you! I hope you do the Dance Company version as well. About Suga's line "I saw myself, myself" and how he was looking into the camera. I think it could be how they see Army as BTS, being one and the same. So looking into the camera could be seen as looking at themselves as well. I hope that makes sense lol
Everything about this video, song, performances, the entire freaking concept itself it's fucking art, but honestly, the more i see it, the more i think Jimin is the main star of this masterpiece. The way he delivers those moves are just something else, he fits perfectly into this concept it was literally made for him.
OMG...you did it!! You are the only one out of a dozen or more reaction video I have seen that noticed Jin's mirror images. Woo and a Hooo. Great job!!!!
Black Swan is one of the most beautiful songs and MVs of BTS. And honestly speaking, the sets are really beautiful but they're no match for the beauty of our boys'. MASTERPIECE!!!
Great reaction, intelligent and educational with just enough emotion. In response to your observation re Suga using the pause to reach out to the shadow...JMT in reaching out to touch the shadow without seeing Suga's face he becomes a more a universal figure allowing the viewer to internalize the sensation of embracing the shadow. If you haven't already reviewed the Art Film of Black Swan I believe you would enjoy it. Stay well
I've seen so many contemporary dancers but no one is like jimin for me atleast and when I saw him dancing in serendipity I was so lost in his dancing...he looks like an angel while Dancing...pure God!
And what I love about BTS MVs is that, every detail is intentional, from the set design, costumes, camera angle, lighting, etc. They don't just shove anything in just for the sake of it. These details always have to be in cohesion with what they're trying to express in their song and MV. They don't release a half assed output, and as a fan, I feel the respect they're giving cos they're practically saying that this high quality is what we deserve.
Black swan is sooooo good. The MV, the song, the lyrics, aesthetics, the choreo, all screaming ART to me. Sometimes we're soooo used to BTS being so good (and some had the audacity to say they're overrated), but when we think of it, especially with songs like this, they're really the definition of PASSION AND EXCELLENCE.
I just want to say that I love that you put in the effort of researching about the video and the behind the scenes and the concept before reacting, makes it complete.
I think you are right and wrong. Yes, the idea that Yoongi reaching towards his own shadow works with the "I saw myself" lyric. However, the lyric is in past tense. He "saw" himself, not "see". So, it makes sense that the line would be delivered to camera right after the shot where he reaches out to his own shadow.
This is honestly cool. I like how you throw informations about editing the video and about the lyrics. How lyrics affect the camera shots and transition.
i really recommend TXT Magic Island!! i think it'd be cool to hear your thoughts on the MV, as well as the little theories you come up with in story lines!
I love watching your reactions because not only are you a fan of the groups but you fanboy over the editing skills. Also, the break downs of how the edits are done are really cool. I love BTS and Jimin is my Bias
Ok..I am now obsessed with your videos, I have been watching them for the past 3hours 😂😂 It’s actually so interesting and fun the way you notice small details I’ve never did and how you explain it as well as the way you understand the message of the song/video.
The shot with the mirror effect is really interesting, I didn’t notice that it was in fake love too, thanks for pointing it out!
Thank you Jordan for reacting Black swan that I've requested so many times T~T Because this MV is ART~~
Black Swan deserves more views and streams. Sooo underrated.
Man! I watched this video so many times and never noticed that Jin's reflections on the mirror don't turn around with him. I loving your videos!
Stay well
OMG! WAITING FOR THIS! 🙏😎💙
YAY!
Exactly. Btw This is my favourite song Army besties 💜 💜 : ua-cam.com/video/PznMpRASjAg/v-deo.html
YAAASS FINALLY A BLACK SWAN REACTION!! i've been waiting for this ngl
I've seen so many contemporary dancers but no one is like jimin for me atleast and when I saw him dancing in serendipity I was so lost in his dancing...he looks like an angel while Dancing...pure God!
Ok, you are officially my fav reactor out there 🥺. I luv how you notice every single detail, unlike most others.
The dance therapy is gonna be lit!! Can't wait to watch your reaction!🔥🔥
Omg, hadn't noticed the mirrors when Jin turns around! So cool and ty!
If any ARMY's wanted to know the theater where the music video was filmed is Called the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood
Thank you so much Jordan for reacting to this mv I was really looking forward 💗
Fun fact: black swan and fake love are siblings
And what I love about BTS MVs is that, every detail is intentional, from the set design, costumes, camera angle, lighting, etc. They don't just shove anything in just for the sake of it. These details always have to be in cohesion with what they're trying to express in their song and MV. They don't release a half assed output, and as a fan, I feel the respect they're giving cos they're practically saying that this high quality is what we deserve.
The elegance and darkness are taking over Jordan by the looks of the thumbnail! 😂😂
Ive been waiting for your reaction Jordan! This is unarguably one of my fav songs from bts 😭 thank youuu 💕
Finally u did a reaction on blackswan it's my favorite mv . Seriously this is a masterpiece which is very underrated
Finally !!!! I've been requesting this for a long time !!!! Thank you so much 💜
Black swan is sooooo good.
The fact that every youtuber is in love with JIMIN 😂🤚🏻✨
omg yess BLACK SWAN IS A QUEEN 👑 i was waiting for thiss
"I DON'T WANT A PS5, I WANNA WIN BTS"
Jordan's on the same page as the rest of us
Black Swan MV is the reason why i stan bts :')
Yesss!!! Jordan please watch it in the order Nap of a Star- Magic Island- Eternally and tell us your thoughts
I love watching your reactions because not only are you a fan of the groups but you fanboy over the editing skills. Also, the break downs of how the edits are done are really cool. I love BTS and Jimin is my Bias
This is not a mv this is an art
Yes,i was waiting for your Black Swan
reaction..😌🖤
Black Swan is a masterpiece.
Ok..I am now obsessed with your videos, I have been watching them for the past 3hours 😂😂 It’s actually so interesting and fun the way you notice small details I’ve never did and how you explain it as well as the way you understand the message of the song/video. Brilliant job, definitely subscribing 🥰🥰 Also, dance therapy is the best part 🤭🤭
