To make life easier I dismantle PCM from box & flop it over on wires toward engine. Once the plastic container for it is removed access is a lot better & alternator will come out without disturbing fan assembly. Still probably takes as long though. Just an alternative way. Thanks for posting video. Make sure that tin bracket goes back on securely as could be cause of fractured alternator.
i guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Jonah Brian Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Very easy job, Do not remove cooling fan assembly or even the upper radiator hose. Remove the nuts holding the front harness on the drivers side valve cover, prop it up then remove the stud that was holding it with an E6 socket and that alternator will slide right out!
Jeffrey Maxim it’s been awhile but if I remember correctly, you don’t have to remove the fan assembly or upper radiator hose, just take the harness loose from the bracket and the stud that was holding it all together is an e6 socket head. Remove the stud and the alternator will slide right out
Jeffrey Maxim follow the video all the way to where he has the alternator loose, now take a look at the top of the valve cover there’s a black cover hanging over the front of it, held on by 10mm bolts/nuts, prop the harness back once it’s loose from the valve cover and take that stud that’s sticking out and the alternator will slide up and out
Really appreciate you making this. About to install a Singer high output alternator in my 2018 IS300 and this video undoubtably saved some skin on my knuckles 🤣
Very good video, I did the same job a while ago on my brother in-laws is250. I learned something: I’ll never buy one of these cars for myself. I service all my own cars and if you can’t change the battery, oil/filter and alternator/starter motor easily then don’t consider buying the car. Anyway, like your style and subscribed. Stay safe.
Wow!! Nice job, you have a lot of patience. Not sure whether to attempt it myself or not. I'll probably give it a go and hopefully your video will be a great help. I'm doing an IS 350, not sure how much difference that makes.
Very good video, but tip, if you pull that plastic cover above the idler pulley that you took off, than pull the mounting stud for the cover on the corner of the cylinder head, the alternator will come out without draining the coolant and removing the fans. You remind me of how I started my shop, about 20 years ago. You have a good future ahead of you.
Video was great help. One thing I did different was just move the ecu to the side took about 2 minutes didnt have to touch the fans or anything with the cooling. That 12mm bolt on the bracket was a complete bitch but with gods mercy I did it. 2am now should be done by 3. Lol I cant sit around with a broken down car.
Excellent job; to bad that everyone makes videos of alternators, but not many videos of he to change starters on 2009lexus gs350 v6 only on is250 Lexus; I guess nobody has gs350 lexus.👌🏽
I’m not gonna lie, this was an awesome video, except the part where you had to go to the store after you finish removing it that was too funny, AnyWho I’m gonna need you to replace my alternator also. PS look out for my call
Don't need to remove coolant hose or fan. Remove the harness mount stud with E6 torx.. pull alternator out and angle it.. just need to push fan towards of car a little..
They really want you to come to the dealer and get it done. That's how stupid these manufactures are... they think there's no street mechanics or individuals with the skills to do it there self. That's how these rich folks think, there extremely stupid with no common sense. They just got lucky and they'll never get there hands dirty.
please buy cars with the alternators that are directly on top or on the sides that can be changed in 4 minutes or less with simpleton tools and by simpletons if not your looking for major major labor bills at 200 per hour plus. this job would have been billed at 4 to 6 hours easy.
Yes man no joke I posted this because I looked up how it is done and no one actually shows you it is just tips. So hopefully this actually gets some views lol
Not bad video But Bro watching you struggle around front beauty plastic my good why didn’t you take that off it wold make your job so much easier from beginning
This was a lousy and overworked job! There was no need to remove the radiator hose and fans to get to the alternator 🤦🏻 Bad tutoring video for people that have no experience and want to save money by replacing their own alternator. This guy didn’t even showed how did he end up removing and installed the alternator 🙄
Bro you are the only person who was able to show me where the bracket nut was and you just saved me a lot of money and tears

Same here. It's not nearly as messy.
i guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account??

@Reece Hector Instablaster =)

@Jonah Brian it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D

Working on mine now can you elaborate @jdr1322

Hahaha, nice to see someone else struggling as much as I did. Alternator bracket was “broken”😂
you just needed to pull the ECU box to the right out of the way, no need to remove the radiator fan, hose etc
This video was helpful, did not have to remove the fan….. but I promise that bracket bolt fought me for 2 hrs. A swivel helps a lot.
Yup I fought same bolt couple hrs but its on and running wish was as easy as my 350 chevy

I appreciate you feedback! And they have the same motor. Produce is the same
@@chooseyourlife9894 not the same motor, but similar layout that makes it identical to replace.

Dude your a mobile savage and this is an awesome informative video. Good content
Thank you 🙏🏾 🙏🏾 I appreciate that man! Your gratitude is greatly appreciated

How did you get the bolt on the bracket?
Nice .I'm getting ready to do the same thing .great tutorial
Thanks for your video, helped me out a lot.
Just removed the alternator on my Lexus is250 and i didnt remove the coolant, just remove three 10mm nuts on the harness and just slide it out.
Great job man, hope your keeping busy .
125 SM yes it’s been like almost two weeks since I uploaded. Tired of just posting brake jobs lol
Wat a b.daym i got 09.good atitude 4 shure.i don't want to do this.but u did make it look easy 💯
Love the way you tackle problems without getting stressed. Assess/solve/ conquer/move on....
Excellent job; to bad that everyone makes videos of alternators, but not many videos of he to change starters on 2009lexus gs350 v6 only on is250 Lexus; I guess nobody has gs350 lexus.👌🏽
Thank you my young Brutha! God Bless you😉
You need a differnt tool for those hose clamps the video helped much thanks
Bless your heart and all your parts! This was a doosey!
About how long did the entire process take?
Very good job bro 🤜🏼
Great job bro. I did one of those today
Legit clean work good job!!
Thank you!
Great Work!!! Could you have gone through the fender well????
Do u have to bleed the radiator because u unplug the hose
excellent video. I'm over the pond in the UK. i'll be attempting to change the alternator on my is250 this week.
I wish you the best of luck man! I know you got it! Save some extra cash if you are doing it your self! Glad I can help out the UK!
You don't need a compressor or air tools for this job. 14mm 12mm 10mm ratchet extention a wobbly and aflat head. Come on now. Lol
then you strip your bolts cuz there’s no wiggle room to get good leverage on your ratchet
tackled that like a boss ! good stuff
Amigo excelente video te felicito
I ran into a problem getting it out going to have to remove one on the ac lines directly under the alternator
That compressor though
Where are you located? Your links for your website doesn’t work
I’m not gonna lie, this was an awesome video, except the part where you had to go to the store after you finish removing it that was too funny, AnyWho I’m gonna need you to replace my alternator also. PS look out for my call
Is there a bolt holding that bracket on?
Just had the same problem and same car how much you charge for that job
Don't need to remove coolant hose or fan. Remove the harness mount stud with E6 torx.. pull alternator out and angle it.. just need to push fan towards of car a little..
excellent video sir! thank you for making it
great job bro ..you have the patience of a saint..you have done my brakes before and did an awesome job!
Nice job! Very helpful, but the laying of tools/hoses/etc all over the fenders/bumper/etc will give me nightmares for a month!
What size are the bolts on the alternator
Why do you choose air tools over electric
This takes a lot of patience
Is it easier to do from the underside of the car?
Jay Kundalini no
Do I have to put that bracket bolt back???
Did you not put it back was there any problems?
Where are you located
Good stuff!
Looks like Philly... you still a mobile mechanic?
I replaced my alternator on my lexis. IS250 but i didn't not remove the radiator cooling fun. Bro that was too much work.
How did you do it?
Why Lexus engineer gotta make that alternator hard to pull!!! My 4runner is cake
They really want you to come to the dealer and get it done. That's how stupid these manufactures are... they think there's no street mechanics or individuals with the skills to do it there self. Show us how you take out the back screw you said it wasn’t on there but that’s the hardest part of the job and you just skip it
Seriously bro just skipped right over it
When is that damn air compressor is gonna quite down? Kept running for the minutes straight.
Yea there’s probably a leak somewhere
It's his generator I would assume.
Annoying as hell!!!!
That's ALOTTA work for something that fails often !
Sorry, this looks so easy on video, but really cant get that back screw or bracket loose.
1965 Beto Same here
He skipped showing how to remove the back screw.

tide spot
Yes man no joke I posted this because I looked up how it is done and no one actually shows you it is just tips. So hopefully this actually gets some views lol
That hidden bolt in the back is a #$%^*. Using your left arm is the easiest way to reach under there and unbolt it
Not bad video
But Bro watching you struggle around front beauty plastic my good why didn’t you take that off it wold make your job so much easier from beginning
Wow bro hope u do not get extra parts
Turn off that 2 stroke in the background 🙄

before fix alternator you need take off plastic cover first that is bad show
I watch this in hopes of seeing how to remove that bolt on the bracket in the the rear but I was disappointed 😞
