    Bro you are the only person who was able to show me where the bracket nut was and you just saved me a lot of money and tears

    To make life easier I dismantle PCM from box & flop it over on wires toward engine. Once the plastic container for it is removed access is a lot better & alternator will come out without disturbing fan assembly. Still probably takes as long though. Just an alternative way. Thanks for posting video. Make sure that tin bracket goes back on securely as could be cause of fractured alternator.

    Very easy job, Do not remove cooling fan assembly or even the upper radiator hose. Remove the nuts holding the front harness on the drivers side valve cover, prop it up then remove the stud that was holding it with an E6 socket and that alternator will slide right out!

    • @jeffreymaxim3110

      Working on mine now can you elaborate @jdr1322

    • @jdr1322
      @jdr1322 4 роки тому +1

      Jeffrey Maxim it’s been awhile but if I remember correctly, you don’t have to remove the fan assembly or upper radiator hose, just take the harness loose from the bracket and the stud that was holding it all together is an e6 socket head. Remove the stud and the alternator will slide right out

    • @jdr1322
      @jdr1322 4 роки тому +1

      Jeffrey Maxim follow the video all the way to where he has the alternator loose, now take a look at the top of the valve cover there’s a black cover hanging over the front of it, held on by 10mm bolts/nuts, prop the harness back once it’s loose from the valve cover and take that stud that’s sticking out and the alternator will slide up and out

    you just needed to pull the ECU box to the right out of the way, no need to remove the radiator fan, hose etc

    This video was helpful, did not have to remove the fan….. but I promise that bracket bolt fought me for 2 hrs. A swivel helps a lot.

    Very good video, I did the same job a while ago on my brother in-laws is250. I learned something: I’ll never buy one of these cars for myself. I service all my own cars and if you can’t change the battery, oil/filter and alternator/starter motor easily then don’t consider buying the car.
    Anyway, like your style and subscribed. Stay safe.

    Wow!! Nice job, you have a lot of patience. Not sure whether to attempt it myself or not. I'll probably give it a go and hopefully your video will be a great help. I'm doing an IS 350, not sure how much difference that makes.

    Very good video, but tip, if you pull that plastic cover above the idler pulley that you took off, than pull the mounting stud for the cover on the corner of the cylinder head, the alternator will come out without draining the coolant and removing the fans. You remind me of how I started my shop, about 20 years ago. You have a good future ahead of you.

    Video was great help. One thing I did different was just move the ecu to the side took about 2 minutes didnt have to touch the fans or anything with the cooling. That 12mm bolt on the bracket was a complete bitch but with gods mercy I did it. 2am now should be done by 3. Lol I cant sit around with a broken down car.

      They really want you to come to the dealer and get it done. That's how stupid these manufactures are... they think there's no street mechanics or individuals with the skills to do it there self. That's how these rich folks think, there extremely stupid with no common sense. They just got lucky and they'll never get there hands dirty.

    please buy cars with the alternators that are directly on top or on the sides that can be changed in 4 minutes or less with simpleton tools and by simpletons if not your looking for major major labor bills at 200 per hour plus. this job would have been billed at 4 to 6 hours easy.
