Awesome training video!!! I've been a auto tech for 30 years. You taught me things I didn't know for years until I watched this (Clocking an alternator could have saved me a lot of waiting for right parts time). Nice!!!! TY!!!

36:20 you didn't disconnect the positive connector, is it still safe because there is current passing through the redwire, no?

    Hey man awesome video.
I've tried the AC current test on the alternator with two different cars that work perfectly but I see 30 volts AC.
I'm not getting that low reading you showed us

Had a 1982 Ford Falcon XD. At time it was unknown but it had a cracked circuit board and the connection between battery light on dash and alternator rarely gapped and give a accurate reading. So sometimes the car would start and alternator would put out 10 volts with lights very dim (dash had a volt meter). Other times it would start and give me 18 volts though I admit low beam was so much freaking brighter than high beam on 14 volts. Took it to sparky and he correctly guesed before he examined it that it was the circuit board behind the instument cluster (or inside) the cluster as the old boards would crack after so many years. The board was brown in colour with I think silver lines ? This was diagnosed in 2008 or thereabouts. If battery was flat, could remove leads, pull out battery and put in donor battery, start my car and then take it out and put original back in while it was still running. My current car (a 2004 model) will hold overnight at 12.2 volts, and run at 14.4 volts. The headlights low beam will take 0.2v (14.2) off reading, brake lights will take 0.1v (14.3) off reading and air conditioner will take 0.2v / 0.3v volts (14.2 / 14.1) off reading when being used while car running at highway speed.

you leave YT alone and you end up here , interestingly you never end up on some lonesome channel , its always some organised channel like this . Do they pay YT for views or what ?
