Lyrics:
Hey
Well, did I tell you before when I was up?
Anxiety was bringing me down
I'm tired of listening to you talking in rhymes
Twisting 'round to make me think you're straight down the line
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
If every sign that I see is complete
Then I'm a fool in your game
And all you want to do is tell me your lies
Won't show the other side, you're just wasting my time
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
When every choice that I make is yours
Keep telling me what's right and what's wrong
Don't you ever stop to think about me?
I'm not that blind to see that you've been cheating on me
You're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me when I'm down
I see you when you're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk

Think of it. The 80s will never come back(cry cry cry).

The 80s were awesome. Mark Hollis was a great musician and songwriter. He was the 80s. RIP Mark Hollis 😢
This band is one of the reasons why the 80s were a extraordinary decade.

Piano's melody was a wonderful song!
So so intelligent and vibrant. I will always love the them. Totally ahead of their time
.I still love them. And always will. Even when I'm 90. Can you just imagine me in the retirement home.Never.
One of the best hard driving pop tunes of the 80's.
My favorite Talk Talk song..................greetings of Peru..
I am building a time machine right now and when it is done, I will bring you all back with me to this time.
This song pumps adrenalin in to my veins. And a freedome feeling into my mind. It saaayssss...hmmm, break your chains.
Absolutely amongst my top tunes of 'ALL TIME ' - just awesome! 😎
Great band. Great new wave song from that era.

What an amazing and extraordinary and beautiful haunted song ever made..
Sadly I was born in the 80s
Never had the Chace to really appreciate and enjoy this masterpiece...
Until now, there's a lot of bands from the the 80s I'm now listening to...
This is one of my favorites 😢
RIP MARK HOLLIS

Amazing song! Pure masterpiece ❤
I like how a band with the name Talk Talk could have a song with the same name . Talk Talk by Talk Talk . Great song .
This is amazing! A genuinely great song. Weird that I’ve never heard of the band. Well better late than never 🎉
I'm so happy you've discovered them!!! Have you heard the gorgeous "Life's What You Make It" yet? Absolutely incredible song, will put you in the most magical headspace. So powerful, so good. Seriously you need to hear it. And "It's My Life" and "Such A Shame" are amazing tracks as well. Also all of the Talk Talk deep cuts and B-sides. All of it. So good! Yay!!!!
Wspaniały utwór
Dokladnie.Swietne brzmienie,nie powtarzalne.
Never heard this song until last year. Now I can't hear it enough!
Thank you Mark!
Still a great song in 2022.
The piano part is my favourite!
The Smiths is another band no one talks about anymore. This Charming Man or how soon is now are the most played and recognizable songs. Morrissey and Marr, pure genius.
RIP Andy Rourke.
The smiths are still talked about 🤔

Talk Talk were an English band formed in 1981, led by #Mark Hollis (vocals, guitar, piano), #Lee Harris (drums), and #Paul Webb (bass). The group achieved early chart success with the synth-pop singles "Talk Talk" (1982), "It's My Life", and "Such a Shame" (both 1984) before moving towards a more experimental approach informed by jazz and free improvisation in the mid-1980s,[5] pioneering what became known as post-rock.[3] Talk Talk achieved widespread critical success in Europe and the UK with the singles "Life's What You Make It" (1985) and "Living in Another World" (1986); in 1988, they released their fourth album Spirit of Eden, which was critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful.

I wasn't a fan when this came out but compared to groups of today that aren't even a band cause don't play a music instrument
R.I.P Mark Hollis
The other version is the original video. This is the re-make.
I saw this on MTV when I was just a girl of 12. I couldn't get the song out of my head. I'm 53 now and still love them. They did some truly remarkable music. I was heartbroken when we lost Mark Hollis. That unique voice, his mischievous twinkle, lol. He is missed.
55 here, same... x
I’m 51, I remember seeing this on MTV too! ❤ Great song from a great band.
I've been listening to this band a lot lately and I have to agree with you, they were really great! Kind of overlooked!
He had the cutest smile. Loved Talk Talk then and still do now.
100% ditto!
This amazing singer is Mark Hollis. Born in the UK in 1955, he died in 2019, only 64 years old. What a pity this talent is no more among us. I became a huge fan of Talk-Talk in 1982. Great melodies compounded by super-cool beat was mesmerizing. I will forever cherish Mark's beautiful smile and the music he created. This band was not underrated by me.
Damn good shit...still listening at 69 years. Energy first, embraced by vocals...that's all.
is it just me that thinks blur, oasis and the verve were all copies?, but this guy was the best of all..............great music from the ultimate music decade
I am 62, love it.. also New Musik, OMD, AFOS..
the electronic meeting analog instruments was a great time
Amen to that- a unique voice
Those 80's drums are the best .
reverb was king in the 80's
Gated reverb for the freaking WIN
80's Bass Players too!
Yeah that part towards the end was great
Rest in Paradise Mark Mark Hollis!😢
My family got cable in June of 82. This song, along with bands like Ultravox, Haircut 100, Split Enz, Duran Duran, were in constant rotation. It was a wonderful time to be alive and it served up a lot of music that I would never have been exposed to.
omg split enz and ultravox - highly underrated
This song is such a hurricane of passion and intensity.
Probably one of the most underrated bands of the 80s …. It’s my life my all time fave talk talk track have put it’s my life in place to be played at my funeral when I pass hopefully lots of years away yet R.I.P Mark Hollis 🙏🇬🇧🏴
Me too I just want 80’s songs akin to this
They were not underated imo
@@verily360 they weren’t underrated to me just in general they were the best band to come out of the 80s 👍👋😀🕺😎🍺🇬🇧🏴🎵
Probably one of the most underrated comments of 2022.😉
They were an outstanding band. Great tunes.
Talk Talk is beyond the 80s trend. Is a contribution to mankind
Man do I miss the 80’s
Yep! You and me a few million more people out here wondering where did the time go? Too fast that's for sure.

@@LionheartNh reach out to Jesus! He loves you and your wife is in the best of hands. ✝️🙏🏽❤️🔥
I was born in 1960, so the 80's were definitely MY GENERATION.... Dancing to these incredible hits in the clubs in San Diego, L.A., Hollywood, NYC.... Now I'm 61, and all I have left are some really great memories.....
lucky you got to grow up in those era's
Same age ,same comment, big tick.
Could be priceless memory's
Yeah, you're more of a geezer than me, I was in high school when this dropped.
That's all we all have.
My god. So good. 2024 and remarkable music.

@@JoeMengele I know, it was a joke.
I feel sorry for anyone who didn't live through the 80s. It was like living on Mars.
God Bless the 1980s
would gladly go back just for the music
The vibe of this song is pure energy, I love it, as well as good old Mark's superb vocals I also really appreciate Paul Webb's bass tone and distinctive style. This music instantly takes me to a better place.
Hi I Recommend an indie rock song called 'The Bond Villain' By Robert Nix
I fully agree, the manic energy in this video just adds to the performance!
dito
I bet I listen to this song at least once a week if not more. I was fortunate enough to have been in my prime during the 80's. The greatest decade of music, friends and everything else. Let's keep playing the music and continue to let others experience the best era of music. The 90's were not to bad considering today's garbage being released.
Mark Hollis genius ❤
We are so missing you
WOW. This is what the 80's was ALL ABOUT. I've seen many 80's alternative bands. This particular song is up there with most. What A Decade .
Preach!
Yes, this was the 80's in its glory and I was there dude👍🏴😎
This is a wonderful upgrade of this amazing song. I love Talk Talk. RIP Mark Hollis ❤️
Ypu got great taste in music darling iam in Cheshire England and iam a chaos magican. .do you like julian h cope ?
Massively underrated band. Their last album, Laughing Stock, is a masterpiece.
underrated?
They were not underrated, are you kidding me, they were highly rated back in the 80's.
R.I.P. Mark Hollis We'll never forget you
Omg is Mark Hollis the singer? Hé is the best
That bass, those drums, those keyboards, those vocals. Incredible! This song sends chills down my spine each time I hear it
This is what EVERYBODY should do is TALK TALK. Instead of being on your phones all day.

The beginning would always make me want to dance! No decade will ever be better than the '80s! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Me too!
Got that right!
seriously you guys are right!!!!! how can anyone dance to the crap today!!????

Gildedbutterfly1976 I am a baby boomer and I agree with you. No decade of music will ever be better than the 1980's.
back in the day .. this was a dance floor filler
Still is! 🥳
I recall in the 80s I had the album with all of their best songs, "Its my life" I think it was called and this one was on there, as well as all the amazing Talk Talk songs. Loved it so much, listened to it all the time and still enjoy it now. Great music is absolutely timeless. I just turned 57 a few month ago and still love this sound and this music.
Great musicians! Great voice! Miss you Mark 💔
Hey, Hey, Hey all you do to me is Talk, Talk!!!!!!! How I love listening to Talk Talk there is no way to describe what great music this is and the band is absolutely fantastic and the words are genius it all makes sense. That being said "NO BAND" these days can even come close to this music of the 80's even if they try. "THAT'S RIGHT THE 80'S ROCK'S ON" TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK
♥♥♥
Love them always!
Today is March 11th 2023 and I'm still listening to this great New Wave song. 41 years ago is when I first heard it. My first New Wave song. Thanks to WLIR and MTV for introducing it to me. It still ROCKS.
I couldn't agree more Tony!! 😁👍🤘
Where in the Tri-state did you listen to WLIR? I grew up in CT and that station was my LIFE!
Lee Harris ❤❤
I am a qualified lesbian too
RIP Mark Hollis - and thanks for leaving us with brilliant recordings like this.
Talk Talk did some pretty great songs. Mark Hollis was a master composer and singer. Hope you will like our cover of their hit song “Such A Shame”.

Hi I Recommend an indie rock song called 'The Bond Villain' By Robert Nix
Oh to go back to the 80s. Closing my eyes and listening to this is as near as I'm going to get.😢
No lead guitar...just bass, drums, keyboard...classic 💯
Such a well put together song. The drums and piano are off the chart, not to mention Marks Vocals
Besides TALK TALK, the only other group I am aware of to have a debut single that had the same name as the group and their debut album was LIVING IN A BOX. Does anyone know of any others?
Lucky to have seen them promoting this album at The Dominion Theatre in London
Lucky bastard ! 🙏🏼🇵🇹
Another British legend. Sing your songs in heaven ❤️🙏😊🎉 We 💕 love you Mark.
Wish we had more bands like this. RIP Mark Hollis.🙏🏻❤
I’m only 26 and I’m absolutely obsessed with this band! 👀
yeah? I haven't even been born yet and so am I - checkmate.
You're not special lol im 26 too and I grew up on and love 80s music 👀
Don't listen to these silly teasers, you are super cool! Makes my 50 year old heart full to know there are young Talk Talk fans out there. Sending you a big high five!
I grew up in the 80s with MTV music. Such a great time. Glad to hear you're a fan as well.
20 and same 😄
I've always loved that piano solo!
Iam 72...this came out in my prime..still sounds and feels the same as then
This song is perfect. Every note, every nuance exactly where it should be. You listen to it one time and the bass line grooves out at you, another time its the melodic yet powerful keyboards, then the unconventional intense drumming, and always with Mark Hollis' indescribable vocals. The you just give in and listen to it all meld together into the best song of an era. Unreal.
