I've never owned a LandCruiser. Drove the old man's petrol 80 series from time to time, but that is it. We currently have a 2020 GXL Prado, which we absolutely love. It felt like a gigantic upgrade from our previous 4wd, a base-model D40 Navara. The Prado was just comfortable and I never wanted to sell it....that was until we test drove a VX 300 Series two weeks ago...and a week later put a deposit on a VX 300 haha! Beautiful car. Sure, you could buy something else with more tech for less money...but when you drive a car and you get the warm and fuzzy excitement...you know you've picked the right one!
Definitely once you test drive one you get hooked. we tossed up between the VX and GXL we might be in for an upgrade down the track 😆.. hopefully you don't have to wait long to get your new truck 👍
Congratulations on the brand new car, Troy & Laura! What an awesome accomplishment - I can only imagine the (Oh, What A Feeling) feeling. I certainly look forward to seeing more of the new beastie in future videos, and I hope this vehicle will inspire you both to get out more and make even more videos! Take it easy, and see you in the next one.
Thanks very much Andrew, it’s an amazing feeling and really wonderful to drive. We both had utes and they can only be so comfortable. There will definitely be more adventures and videos with the LC. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your LC300 purchase. Did you notice if your bonnet vibrates when driving? The one I tested vibrated quite a lot and I found it a bit disconcerting. The dealer agreed and said that the test vehicle was early-production and the vibration would be addressed before the one I ordered is delivered (12 months later). I'm looking forward to getting it.
Hi Paul, thanks for watching. yes l did notice it vibrating when we first started to drive it. to be honest l haven't taken much notice now. l will keep an eye out to see how it goes. What model did you order?
@@JourneyUnknown A plain white VX ordered last February. If the bonnet vibration isn't rectified as was suggested, I do hope it becomes less noticeable in time. It will be good to see how your travels progress in your new digs, dogs included. Maybe a silly question but can dogs be tethered inside a van when in transit, perhaps with cctv to keep an eye on them? We have english setters, one quite anxious. I'm not sure how they would go travelling in a box.
Nice you'll love the VX hopefully you won't have a long wait time. I've just noticed the bonnet doesn't move around town probably more so on bumpy roads. Yeah they will be able to be tethered plus we regularly check on the dogs. A camera's a great idea 💡
A very informative video!! Cannot wait to see this four wheeled beauty in action on your upcoming trip. Love the size and position of the LCD screen too. The Apple CarPlay in my car needs to be connected via the cable in order for it work
Thanks Trish! Can’t wait to take you for a drive. Oh that’s good to know about the Apple Car Play! It’s going to be such a comfort ride up to the top of Australia 🇦🇺
@@JourneyUnknown No, no I won’t 😂 there’s actually a longer story, I had a new 78 series Troopy on order. Had been waiting for about 12 months when I received some bad news regarding my health. After discussing it with my wife we decided to pass on the 78 order, my thought being to let someone else have a go to get theirs earlier, whereas most people would have just taken delivery of it & then flipped it online for a $30,000-$40,000 profit. I didn’t do that (more fool me). So anyway, luck not being my thing, this will take 3 years 😂
Congratulations mate... Enjoy... I am sure you are gonna make lots of memory in the car... Make more videos on all part of the cars - Such as Service, Maintenance, cost, Fuel range and ETC..
Thanks Leon, we sure will! Unfortunately we had to make the hard decision to leave our new car behind on this Aussie Outback Tour due to our caravan not being ready in time so in a couple months time we’ll be able to really test the car. Thanks for watching!
Hey Noah thanks for letting us know about that. I just had a look at their website and the adaptor still needs to be plugged into the usb port like now. Also Troy has a Samsung 🙄 and they don’t support Android phones. Good tip though! I do like their phone holders, we may get one of those each instead of the ones that go in the air vent. 🙏
Thanks Ben! We were going to bring it up with Toyota at our first service this week and why the app isn’t working. Also all the USB ports are USB-c’s so not for Apple iPhones 🤷♀️
@@JourneyUnknown USB-C is an industry standard. You can get USB-C to lightning (iPhone) cables pretty much anywhere. I believe you need to use the USB-A port however for apple car play / android auto.
Hi Dirk, yep confirmed that Apple Car Play only works off the USB-A port. We do have Samsung mobiles too so the USB-C’s are handy and have now got a converter to our iPhone. Thanks for watching.
It sure is! Yep it’ll eventually have a black pack on it with bull bar, snorkel, wheels etc but we’re off in 3 weeks so will have to wait until we get back.

You are now the owner of one of the best built vehicle in the world.
She is a BEAUTY ❤️
Thanks Levi, we love the 300 and can’t wait to take it on many more road trips! Thanks for watching!
Not sure what u mean...
Congratulations mate use it in good health.
Mad looking truck, hay.
Thanks Sam so far so good 👍 We'll know more once we're on our Kakadu trip 😀

Very nice car, it on my ‘when I win the Lotto’ list!
Thanks Wild Adventures, it definitely breaks the bank that's for sure.
Nice review guys
Thanks Mick 🍻
Congratulations my friend
Thank you 😊
I just bought one & was disappointed it doesn't come with a Weimaraner.. :) However we will make do with our Vizsla.
Classic 😄 . you won't be disappointed with either ☺️
Good for you mate, congratulations. I've just placed an order for a LC300, but I will probably die of old age before it arrive. Toyota, geeezus.
Cheers, hopefully you get your LC early fingers 🤞

Oh wow! That's not good to hear with your health and the 78 series. Which LC300 model are you getting?
What can you fit in the boot when you have all seats up?
The boot isn't huge when the rear seats are up, you could put a few bags or shopping in the back.

Quad Lock make a wireless car play adapter for $140, I’m also sure there are cheaper wireless adaptors.

@@JourneyUnknown Yeah all good, not sure if other brands would have ones for android. Cheers👍
Do you find the car has a rattling sound when you accelerate softly at the start but then disappears when it gets going??
We haven't noticed anything yet. Have you had issues with your car?
No wireless Apple car play. Apparently there are some after market solutions though. Good review, useful insights 👍🏻

Is that the silver pearl color? Damn its sexy, black out everything and that silver would be a show stopper.

Biggest mistake by Toyota not keeping the v8 diesel going here in Australia
V8 would be nice 😃
is it same as Lexus GX ?
Just the price difference 😂
@@JourneyUnknown thanks . that Toyota trim is not available in US .
Do you have the wood trim?
No it's not. The Lexus GX is based on the Prado, the Land Cruiser GX in Australia is the lowest spec.
Great review very informative, look out Kakadu here we come
Thanks Bill and bring it on!
