Please enjoy this Toontrack EZdrummer 3 tutorial where I discuss multitrack drum recording and how to program drums with EZdrummer 3. So, how to do multi-track output in EZ Drummer 3? I’ll go over it in detail today.
With EZdrummer 3, how do you multitrack your drums? The role a piece of drum production software can play in a songwriting context is reinvented by EZdrummer 3, drum production software designed for quick and simple songwriting. It gives you full creative control over a vast array of simple-to-use features that enable you to construct finished drum tracks without ever leaving the program. Toontrack's EZdrummer 3 is most likely the virtual drummer with the greatest global appeal. Although its second iteration was introduced in 2014, it has continued to be a fan favorite ever since. How does EZdrummer 3 differ from EZdrummer 2 then, and is it still simple to use?
Using EZdrummer multitracks, you can separate a whole song into its constituent parts. Describe a multitrack. All of the various audio production components, such as the kick drum, snare, hats, toms, shaker, etc., are included in EZdrummer multitracks. While some might be mono, others might be stereo. They could have been sampled, programmed in a sequencer, or recorded directly from microphones or other sources.
Three essential components have served as the foundation for EZdrummer's success. First, it provides high-quality, sample-based drum sounds, primarily made up of different acoustic drums, however, expansion packs also include electronic sounds. Second, it offers the user a fantastic (and expandable) collection of genre-based MIDI grooves that can be simply organized into a song structure, even if you can clearly compose your own drum patterns using your host sequencer. Thirdly, it gives you the tools you need to swiftly adjust those preset grooves by adjusting their dynamics, intensity, and timing to match the structure of your song and to dial in just the right amount of "real drummer" for the performance.

Finding a kit in the Drums tab of EZdrummer 3 is really simple, and you can then pick up beats, rhythms, and fills in the Grooves tab. The song can then be put together in sections by dragging these into the constant Song Track at the bottom of the window. Parts may be used in their current state, altered using the new Grid Editor, or dragged into the DAW for workstation-based surgery.
The brand-new Bandmate feature is a great creative tool that simply listens and recommends parts if you don't really sure what the drums should be doing. Listening to individual portions or even entire mixes won't faze its bulletproof operation, and using its complexity controls is a breeze. Adding a produced, musically conscious drum part to your composition is quite easy with EZdrummer 3 in combination with a few mixer presets in top right.

I am a former user of Superior Drummer. After I bought EZD3, I never thought about upgrading SD 2. This plugin is versatile, has good midi grooves (most of them are useful) and requires little mixing to sound amazing.

Thanks a lot for the tutorial ! really made my drums better, and quite quickly :D the only thing that I have is that the Virtual Tape Machine on the Drum Bus brings A LOT of power to the kick, to such a point that it's a bit uncomfortable to listen... Do you have a solution for this ? Keep up the good work man, from a new french subscriber :)

hit the tape machine a little less hard and that should do it, or take it off all together

Cool video, I’ve learned this lesson recently: midi drums do not need much and if you’re going to add processing, best to stick with saturation and minor EQ tweaks/gentle compression

@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Many thanks. I’ve since tried it and it works. Recorded a song a couple of years ago in Logic using midi drum tracks I want to import into Studio One via EZ Drummer 3 to do a remake in Studio One. Great to see I’ll be able to do that. Thanks for confirming.
