I don't wanna brag, but I've always thought Thor hersirs + armory upgrades was good. I just don't have the skill to put this into practice 😂
Suppe the #1 innovator in the game today it seems. Love this strat, but you can see how a safe goldmine in classical would have saved him some trouble. Pretty sure i've seen him do the double temple advance with Loki nearly as fast, so maybe he could have saved dwarven goldmine. Also pair of golden lions very convenient for this strat.
Personally, I save the goldmine for later if I can share an ox-cart on resources at the start
Mass armory Thor is my favorite!!! I’ve been waiting so long to see a pro try this!! I’m in love. Imo if Zeus sees the armory coming out he just needs to age up heroic. The mistake was going town center / trying to be aggressive and losing units in the middle of the map. It didn’t pay off. If Zeus just runs and hides under his towers he doesn’t have to fight until heroic age. Thor doesn’t have a siege weapon here until heroic age. So then both players go heroic and it should be even with Zeus getting heroic and hypaspist, but thor gets actually good myth units and has an army of hersir and armory upgrades which is tons of favor for myth units. :) (no offense to trolls, but theyre no like battle boar or frost giant)
I actually have a whole build order for 1 tc Thor strat. You can get pick axe out the gate, send dwarves to wood at the gold mine to share cart. Get wood until enough for ox cart for food + hunting dogs. Then put them on gold. Meanwhile train 2 dwarves to gold. Then train 2 villagers food (if you can shoot the hunt towards town center or ox to delay a cart). Then ox cart and another vill. Get up to 5 or 6 vill on food, depending on starting food count. You’ll have to maybe get another dwarf while doing this. At some point I usually have 5 dwarves on gold, just getting me to pig sticker. Once you have pig sticker, leave 3-4 dwarf in gold (depending on if you want some tower - wall chips). Rest on wood, train dwarves to wood until advance. Should get around 4:15-4:45with force drops to get food villagers out earlier + age up earlier / depends on ox cart timings. Will age up with a bunch of dwarves on wood. I like this with 1tc armory because I can basically eat hunt slowly and keep it walled off, while training villagers to farms when I go up classical. Maybe it’s dumb to go farms that early but when I gather the wood with dwarves that have hand axe it feels pretty good to me. I think with a smaller hunting group they also spend less of their time walking, which partially offsets the inefficiency of the early farms. You can surround a town center with 12 farms somewhat fast and then throw the dwarves back to gold to do whatever. Maybe a dumb build order lol but just something I’ve tried for Thor after looking at the Econ spreadsheet for em and seeing that pickaxe helps dwarves a ton, and that dwarves gather wood at the same rate as vills before bow saw. Idea is also to have a ton of dwarves for heroic age when you want battle boar / frost giant.
Villagers also hunt so crazy fast with hunting dogs and pig sticker and husbandry that I feel you don’t want large hunting groups. But you want more food, and I dunno if more ox carts and more vulnerability by going to multiple hunt spots at once is good

CVC should cut the production and rush heroic after seeing these mass hersirs, he had safe economy... Lack of hypashists and heroic age delay finished him... 😀 Oh ofc, Husk is too OP too, well played!
the sides make the map feel smaller than others, but that one map with fish pond behind each players tc looks fun

That second TC from cvc was legit a mistake, if he hit apollo 2min faster he would still have been in the game, still props to suppe, crazy how he absolutely smashed the zeus here.
