Sadly, that's the best thing to do, no worth to risk the match developing into a 2 or three hour game. Arena is nice in team games tho

In Arena team game, watch out for pre made cheese strats:
Team with Cuman/Gurjara/Celts: feudal ram push/castle elephant ram push/imperial siege ram spam. You’ll need to go up faster and create melee units to defend this. For imp you need lots of your own mangonels.
Team with Goth/Italians: beware of the “pizza delivery” strat! Team mates sling goths who goes fast imp and spam tons of condottieri for almost free. You need to recognize this soon and kill slinger players fast while they’re defenseless. Or you die to the spam.
Other civs to watch out for:
Spanish, Conqs
Turk, Janis or fast imp
Bohemia, surprise castle age HC, early imp bbc, monks
Monk civs like: Burmese, Aztec, Bengalis, Portuguese and more.
Ye this goth thing is annoying I can tell you that.
For me it comes close to "srsly you want to win like that? Ok you got ur wish I'll just go next and have fun instead" 😂😂
I usually go Queen Amidala style: Engage in a big battle in the center or in front of your base. With this distraction I blow a whole in the opponent walls with two/three pedards and run in with Gbetos.
And how don't you get crushed in the middle when you invest in the flank? 😀

Nice guide. Also venting after Masters of Arena final I'm disapointed in T90 for not mentioning BF players using flaming camels against elephants and ocasionaly paladins already. That setting with players using costly units so much in team games (even going for mass war elephants sometimes) and natural chokepoints of the battlefields in BF make for such a good oportunity to use those boys.

Bro waited to drop this vid after the MoA ended so that the participants didnt have literal Hera hacks. How noble Mr.Hera, thank you for not showing this to the pros before the tourney, because their play would be perfect and we would still be on the first game of first series in a stalemate situation, T90 now weeks without sleep...You saved us!

I think just apply critical thinking. Whenever you are playing a team game you should automatically be ready to do things that make sense. Good market placement, military to back them up, willingness to understand you don't have to resign because of one tiny mistake.

On 1200 elo, 60-70% of the arena games i am facing a castle drop. Maybe one pro tip for this would be good. Thank you for your videos :)
Defend from the castle and keep your economy going. The castle dropper has the disadvantage of having to pull villages and spend resources in a siege. All you Gotta do is defend long enough to inevitably hit imp before he does. I personally like building 5 or 10 scorpions to keep the shenanigan's far enough away from my walls for castle drops to really matter. I go to imp as fast as I can with scorpions in castle and love seeing people try and drop a castle on me. Its pretty much insta win if you defend it properly.
Low key just take some palisade and scatter it around the outside of your wall
Not a pro but value advice nevertheless:
There are some civs that will most likely go for the castledrop and/or allin.
First goal is to deny the castle on your wall and force him to castle at home. You do that by scouting, maybe invest in 2 more scouts for map control and be ready to villfight or towerdrop with 5-10 vills. If you succeed here it's a 90 % win already.
If the castle is at home and he comes with Jannis / conqs or stuff you have several options :
Castle at home, 2-3 tower with upgrades, skirm siege monk defense. If you don't go for the castle instant you should aim for it at the next step because your opponent will likely drop the second castle in ur face in an allin situation go imp and destroy you.
Finally you want to go up to imp equally fast as your opponent. That means to idel ur TCS and lack efficiency but you can be 100% sure your opponents eco is worse.
So in short :
1) don't let your opponent drop the castle in your face
2) prepare to defend against unique units, petards.
3) drop your own castle at home
4) go imp, better sooner then later.
That should already help alot 🙂✌️
1. You can make your own castle to defend you. Make the castle and try to go imp and win the trebs war.
2. Open scouts or/and spearmen. You win map control and then your opponent will be forced to do it at his base. Sometimes they make spearmen to avoid that and wall the villagers, in that case you can try to go out with your villagers to fight and put a tower in front of their unbuilt castle.
3. Boom and defense. You usually have a better economy than the guy who puts a castle in your face (he mined stone instead of farming and walked the entire map with 10 villagers). You can wall, boom and defend yourself with some siege and monks, while you take stone, put a castle, up to imp and letting the economy do its job.

I played arena vs Turks as Hindustanis. I did not race them to Imp, instead committed to a 5 TC, 100 vil, 10 stable 10 range boom, camel/skirm combo. It was soooo satisfying to crush my opponent. Finally I beat Turks in arena, thanks to your strategy, Hera :)

pizza = relic
As a 1500 arena player imho the easiest way to play is invest nothing in relics, let the opponent overinvest, go straight for boom and you will have the timin and momentun on your side. Take map control while imping and gg.
Of course be aware of castledrop allins. It should not be a unscouted blind boom. More like not invest in monk, relics and take a big eco lead instead.
For sure on higher rating it's a mistake but up until mid elo maniacs I believe that's the most chill and stable tactic. 😊

One year late but there's 1 cheese strat I haven't seen. Unless it's been patched, Building a tower in the corner of the bases can let you drop out units garrisoned inside one by one with a rally point on the other side.

In my experience around 800 elo 1v1 EVERYONE builds a forward castle. Almost without fail.
i just do your turks fast imp rush and have likea 90% win rate in arena (low elo)
Deleting all your walls is also a really good strategy.

I just go Turks fast imp in 20-22 ingame mins to bombards and hand canoneers. Cba to play those long ass arena games and this strat is pretty powerfull
I recently got badly beaten in team game, 3 cuman rams+12 goths men at arms, came in at about 12-13 minutes, it was not a good experience.
As much as everyone hates arena 1:1, arena tgs are actually the bomb if you like a more peaceful start.

Hey sure. Generally speaking you want to do something that synergies well with your team. If you go for a push on flank, pocket should definitely try to help with some knights, so u can try to defeat an opponent. If you stay defensive pocket should boom and just react to aggression. Thats the simple game plan
When should you go to straight boom instead of fighting for relics? Sometimes the pros do that.

u can go to stone and counter castle if sb ddops u, and u can counter tower/wall against most early rushes

@@kenostrife8423 in general they are always going to be pretty similar but the game just operates better. They even fixed the text problems. The villager seem to do less but still sometimes do annoying pointless things.

step 2: if you failed step 1 and found yourself in a game of arena, press esc and resign
These days, fuedal and even early castle attacks aren't a good strategy for arena

Pick a civ with a powerful imp/end game. All my fuedal units are for defending relic/futile rushes. I castle the gold/stone in the middle of the map and push from there. Castling their wall early is just kamakaze style since arena gives the opponent a massive benefit in being already walled and having resources to rewall/boom before you can get to their vils

Love your videos, just one tip: Say 'them' instead of 'him', not just for woke reasons, but also because there are many women who play the game. I myself have been caught off-guard saying 'bro' in chat and the other player telling me "I'm a girl" :D
Thats grammatically incorrect, if its a singular person and i dont know the gender I shud use the masculine version. Using they for a singular person is never correct, no matter what people are saying these days
