Nice video Bo! I am going to make an attempt to breed them for the first time. What size aquarium did you use and how did you make the breeding box? Also, what temperature is the water and PH (does this matter?) Thanks!
Hi Ken,thanks for your comment! I used a breeding tank that was around 35 x 26 x 26 cm in size. If you're interested in making a breeding box, you can check out this video, ua-cam.com/video/qMTLnA-bUh0/v-deo.html As for water temperature and pH, you can generally use the parameters in your community tank. When breeding ember tetras, I usually keep the pH between 7-7.5 and the water temperature between 25-28 degrees Celsius.Let me know if you have any other questions.
Great idea with the security camera footage! I imagine it would have been great if it was HD! I finally managed to get my ember tetra to spawn... I got 1 baby fry ha! Still trying hard but no way near as much success as you! What temp are you spawning them in the tank?
Hi Oakhart, Thank you for your watching!Yes I plan to get a HD camera for my future video. Congrats on your success of getting an ember tetra fry! You will definitely get much more in your next attempt.I also only got one for my first time😂 the temp in the spawning tank was about 24-25 I guess.
Dear Bo: When referring to multiple fish, of the same species, the plural of “tetra” is “tetra.” If you say “tetras,” you are referring to more than one species of fish. You wrote, “They didn’t lay eggs when I checked them the next day afternoon.” In English, we never say “day afternoon.” It is redundant, as an afternoon always occurs, during a day. You can simply say “the next afternoon." I thought you might get a better yield, if you added plants, to the breeding tank. White clouds (Tanichthys albonubes) tend to dart into thick foliage, such as Java moss, to spawn. Apparently, this isn’t the case, with egg scatterers, such as Hyphessobrycon amandae. Thank you for sharing this, fascinating footage, of your, terrific success, breeding this species. All my best, Sincerely, Brinegar
Dear Brinegar, Thank you for your corrections on my grammar mistakes! I really appreciate it! I think I got a pretty good yeild this time, better than my previous times. The only problem is that I failed to get a better spawning footage. Thanks for your support!
Wow didn’t know it was that easy, nice video! Subscribed!
