Viking say all throughout their Application Guide -------- "CrusaderTM series shocks are for COMPETITION USE ONLY and NOT designed for street use. Failure to follow the off-track shock settings could result in damage to the shock and/or to you and/or your vehicle and will void the warranty" Have you had any issues running the Crusaders on the street? Amazing Car Andrew, congrats!!!!!! I have a doubt about what considerations do I have to take under advice if I were to do a struts and shocks upgrade to my 2014 GT500 that came from factory with the performance package from SVT which has the Bilstein electronic selectable dumpers. Just like your Shelby. There are things in the electronics of the car which may be affected if I change this Bilsteins and the front struts?...such as launch control and other electronic features of the car, driving modes in the steering wheel, etc. That is what I would very much appreciate you could take some time to explain and clarify to me the implications and considerations to have in mind if such a change was to be made to my car. I hope I’m explaining myself and that you can provide valuable feedback on this.
I have an 03 Cobra and just can’t see myself letting her go for a GT500. Yes, absolutely beautiful car but something about a Terminator will always have my heart. Thoughts on why or why not i should make the switch sometime in the future ?
I love both cars alot...they both are built off the same architecture engine wise so they both sound bad ass gt500 just has larger engine and better heads and stuff. Its like a newer upgraded terminator. These cars are very much alike gt500 is just a newer version both sound alot better than the coyote (imo) both have transmissions that are better than the mt82 i do like that the gt500 is much easier to get huge dual fan heat exchangers into and it comes with a solid rear stock im more of a dragstrip kinda guy so handling dont matter a whole lot to me i got a fiesta st daily if i wanna go carve curves. I really do love both cars the gt500 learned from the few mistakes cobras had when out and they just upgraded it and made it better over the years. The trans is super bad ass (tr6060) theyre just bad ass. They are heavier but they have the larger engine capable of more power and torque to offset that. I dont get the back and forth between the two cars...you got gt500 guys who diss cobras and cobra guys who diss gt500s theyre both the same car essentially the gt500 is just a newer model year of the same exact thing just upgraded over the years. Cobra has better stock rods but gt500s have better stock heads, larger engine, ability to have a much better heat exchanger, and basically everything except the rods is better on the gt500 and the rods arent far behind either theyre pretty stout and its not that expensive to upgrade to better rods and pistons and you can up compression ratio when you do that and make killer power. I love both cars im going with a gt500 because it fits what im wanting to do more plus ive never owned any stang newer than a new edge ive had a mach 1 and 97 cobra along with a couple 94-95s and three fox bodies i want to try a different platform instead of getting the same platform i had before (although the terminator to me is the end all be all new edge hands downl) both cars are great and very similar in many ways...if you like one you should like the other also no reason not to. Some people dont like gt500s because they feel that they kicked their cobras off the top of the mountain and feel somehow offended by that its just a natural evolution. The made an s197 cobra and upgraded most everything on it to be better they just happen to call it a gt500...in my eyes its still an svt cobra, albiet a newer and better version which is why i want one lol. Both are amazing cars
@@karlhopkins713 yea i have been in love with cobras since i was 19 when they came out summer 02...its always been a dream car of mine....always said back then whenever prices go down im gonna get one...well prices never went down lol...these days you can get 5.4 gt500s for what cobras go for and the gt500 fits what im trying to do better plus like i said i wanna try a different platform ive owned a new edge and multiple sns and ill always love em and i still may get a terminator one day but i want suburb shape and low miles and they are 25-30k in many cases i understand why but at the same time i cant help but think i can get a gt500 for that (older gt500 aka svt cobra lol). Love both cars maybe someday ill get a chance to own a terminator too
Karl Hopkins i think ultimately I’d regret it seeing as they aren’t seen a whole lot. I remember being with my old man as a teen and say the 03/04 Mach 1s. Then we went into a Ford dealer and i saw both the Mach and Cobras. I always said i wanted one of each as i get older. I owned a 04 Azure Blue Mach 1 and modified the suspension with Maximum Motorsports. Then my buddy sold me 03 Cobra and loved having them both. When i found out i was going to be a father i sold my Mach 1. I finished paying off my Cobra and just wonder if i can ever see myself in a GT500. Absolutely stunning car but i just can’t see myself selling my Cobra. I remember seeing the movie Gone in 60 Seconds wondering if they’d release one i can afford one day seeing as the 67 Shelby is out of my price range. Years later sure enough here go to the 13/14 as my favorites and just wonder lol.
Sweet. But, honestly everyone has racestars or sve wheels that are similar but what would look alot better on the Shelby would be the Forgestar F14 Drag Pack Matte Black Wheels.
I definitely want a killer looking drag setup. But right now I’m not going to spend a lot of money on a drag setup when I piece together something that works for much less. Especially with the built engine coming soon that bill is pretty expensive lol
The rear brakes will actually be getting a downgrade for 15” wheels. The front does most of the work anyways with the 6 piston brembos. I can’t go bigger because of the intended purpose of the car: drag racing
Thats about the same price it is here in virginia sometimes its below 2 bucks. And it is super good quality ive tested it at 90% ethanol several different times its always very good worst ive seen it was 85% during winter.
@@alexischavez7953 it is very nice unfortunately there is just 2 stations within 50-100 miles or more in any direction and both are between 30-40 miles away but both stations are very good quality like that both are sheetz stores
Jiff Conman the rear does have stock brakes. They have very large rotors but still used a normal caliper. I am actually going to be downgrading the rear brakes to fit 15s.

Did you decide on the viking shocks on your own or did bmr recommend that you run them with the bmr equipment?
Bmr suggested it but I have used Viking in the past with the bullitt with great success
