Why did you do that to the egg? o_O If boiled egg has been served in the egg stand you should just remove the top of the boiled egg with a knife (or break it with a teaspoon), salt an egg and eat it with a teaspoon directly from an eggshell. That would be definitely much more convenient and traditional. )))
the running eggs like that we eat in the cup that it was served with that little spoon that it comes with... we don't peel it of we just cut the tip to put the spoon in ;)
How do you eat a Semmel?!?!? The right way to eat a Semmel is: First, you cut it in half, horizontally! Then, you coat it with butter, and then with jam! The final step is, you put your Semmel back together. Now it's ready to eat
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos in the U.S., the Semmel is called a Kaiser roll and continental breakfasts are named after the typical Continental Europe breakfast (what you’re eating), as opposed to a breakfast in Britain/Ireland, which is very different.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos Traverse city, Michigan- home of the National Cherry Festival.. Our town is very beautiful, I live 10 miles from sleeping bear dunes. Voted one of the best vacation destinations in the U.S
Old school traditional would be a second breakfast before noon (or first breakfast after on of those hard and heavy nights), called "Gabelfrühstück". Usually consisting of a small warm dish, like Frankfurter sausages, Beuschel, Bruckfleisch or Wiener Gulasch. Best accompanied with a small beer.
"Wirr" means "confused" or "chaotic" The soft egg usally don´t leave the bucket at all, it will be headed or peeled on the top and eaten with a spoon , maybe with a little bit of salt. And a "Semmel" with ham and cheese tastes much better with butter. By the way, you should have tried local dishes like "Tafelspitz" (cap of the rump) with a Glas of local wine, or the local "beef-Goulash" with a Glas of local brewed beer. And there is a version of Schnitzel called "Cordon-Blue" , traditionally breaded like the "Wiener Schnitzel" but with ham and melted cheese as a filling inside. There are other Versions with different fillings as well. Tipps from a "local".
Thank you very much for these tips! Ah, fortunately we did get to do a goulash and beer combo in our next video :) The Cordon-Blue sounds delicious. Like a premium schnitzel.
Well, for the different kinds of fillings in the breaded cutlet, I suggest a place called "Schnitzelwirt" in the 7th district of Vienna at "Neubaugasse" (I don´t know the exact doornumber, but it´s somewhere between the crossing "Siebensterngasse" and the crossing "Burggasse" on the left side if you come from "Maria-Hilfer- Straße" turning into "Neubaugasse" They have a really tremendous choice to offer.
Well, in most of the private households in the meantime the "Cordon Bleu" detached the "breaded Pork - cutlet" as an "Sunday-meal" The stereotypical "Sunday -meal" was either "breaded pork-cutlet" or "breaded chicken" called "Backhendl" (legs + breast + wings -> the whole thing)" both with potatoe salad. Also "pork-roast" with Sauerkraut and dumplings (either bread- or potato-dumplings) and the good old "Zwiebelrostbraten" with potatoes and green salad. "Zwiebelrostbraten" is mostly a chop with a bit of bone on one side depending which part of the meat is used, a "filet"(no bones) would be also useful) of beef sharply roasted + onions (but gently roasted) + Potatoes (either roasted, too or boiled and served with parsley or rosemary) And last but not least the "Tafelspitz" which is a kind of a "feast" It´s the beef´s cap of the rump and the best kind of meat a cow has to offer, so it´s a bit expensive but sooo good. It´s boiled in a soup (beef broth) together with root-vegetables for hours to become as soft as possible, the piece of meat has to fall apart by entering your mouth without using your teeth. It´s traditionally served with a dip of applesauce mixed with fresh shredded Horseradish and a dip of a spicy creme mixed with chives. There are root-vegetables which were boiled together with the piece of meat in the first place and either creme spinach or creamy cabbage and half mashed but roasted potatoes. It´s a bit expensive, so like the "Original Wiener Schnitzel"(veal) because of the expensive meat, that´s why I spoke of "feast", but undisputed totally worth trying.
Nooo, as it comes in an egg cup, it's a soft boiled egg - typical for Viennese breakfast. Leave it in the cup and eat it with the spoon! Oh sorry, as I see now a couple of people have told you so already. :-) Really sorry guys!
Yeah maybe it's no the cheapest city in the world. But you're paying for the best quality and good portions of food. And of course the city with the best quality of life. My Vienna ♥️ 🇦🇹
Sam, I really agree with you about the combination of savory and sweet. Viennese breakfast are my absolute favorite. Filling, tasty, great breads, meats and a great atmosphere.
lol tourist trap, we don´t eat eggs for breakfeast here in austria. The restaurants in the city make their menus mainly to make tourist happy and give them something they are familiar with, not what austrians would normally eat. Even the main dishes like you had at Prater when you nloticed the goulash meat was tener haha goulash meat is always fatty and not tender. Prosciutto is also not eaten at an austrian breakfeast.- It seems like th place you ate is mixing up a british, italian, austrian and american foods and calling it an austrian breakfeast ;)
Great video, watched this in the morning for a change ,enjoyed having my coffee with you guys , food looked delicious..I love nice bread and buns.Yum!!
Hi there, is it nice over there? Me and my husband will have a Europe trip on July the 24th and Austria is one of it. Your video made me excited thanks.
I think Vienna will appear as expensive to you probably because you were visitin some very touristic places, like Hotel Sacher and Schweizerhaus are really way too expensive. You'd need to have some insiders like where to get cheap viennese breakfast but you're probably aware of that. Love your videos :)
oh man that farmer breakfast is just like the breakfast i get at my uncle's farm when i visit Austria in the summer! (he is a wine farmer), the only difference is that we don't get tomatos and we have those breadrolls (known as a semmel) and a thicc sausage named extrawurst!
One tipp for everybody traveling to europe. Ask how the egg is boiled. We dont kill you for a question. 😉🙂 But if it is served in a cup with a small spoon it is soft boiled 90% 😉
"Wirr" means "nuts, crazy, weird, tangled, confused". - And: to eat soft boild eggs, you just peal of only the topic egg shell, but leave the whole egg in the round iron shell dish ("egg holder") served with, and use a little spoon to empty and eat the egg with the warmd yolk inside out of the egg shell!
I look at your breakfast and it looks healthy and yummy... And look at the next table, those ladies are drinking wine & beer that early. Did you know you order the wrong breakfast? 😂😂😂
Nicely done video and good camera stability I wonder what rig you used of course was not just an iPhone! 😂 like other channels. nice video!!! I love vienna I’m going for the second time next month.
Audrey boiled eggs served in an "egg cup" you chop the top off then take the teaspoon and eat the egg right out of its shell, don't forget salt and pepper.
Love your vids! My sister lives in Wien (haha I know I'm pretentious) and I love visiting. The prices are high, but since I live in Seattle I hate to say that some things are actually cheaper over there. Best Regards :)
The egg is a soft boiled egg, typical in austria, you dont peel it all the way, you just peel off the top and then scoop it out with a spoon and dip bread into it, hence it's in this lil egg holder
Also can I add that Where ever you GI the last page are Cakes or Ice Cream just of you want to get Cakes Or Ice Cream everywhere which is Helpful cuz Vienna has all the sorts of *C A K E S* And they are really Delicious to eat if you had a Tough Job when you come at 20:12 PM Not the fun I know
That cafe looks like it could be very dangerous if a truck rolled by with high side mirrors ... across the road from "Herter's Workshop" ... btw Sam , with on the eggs .... boiled never , easy over at times , but prefer scrambled or better still a great omelette ... enjoy you two
Really like Your videos. Allway enjoy. Many regards from Czech Republic again. If U´ll visit our country next time, just let me know. Offering homemade goulash (guláš)=) (only if U promise me, that U don´t touch dumpling with hands, allways use knife and fork, touching dumplings in CZ is something like U stole a statue from church=), just kidding, czech proverb) . Really. Keep it going. By the way, subscribed...
Sam, your breakfast looks really. After a few days in Germany and Austria the brot, shinken and eier get a bit repetitive. Your's looked a bit different.

I've just heard that the Austrian coffee is served with a cup of water and wondered if that's true. And then I found your video and it seems like it's true lol 2:224:25

Thanks! Yeah, that was awfully silly of us. More like a comedy skit than a meal ;)
OMG no maneuver with egg...
I've never seen somebody trying to spread a soft boiled egg onto a slice of bread! Haha! You really made my day! :D
Its true
As an Austrian, i saw that disaster coming from a mile :D That egg was so perfectly cooked too...
the running eggs like that we eat in the cup that it was served with that little spoon that it comes with... we don't peel it of we just cut the tip to put the spoon in ;)
Hehehe...oh my gosh we were clumsy ;)
+Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos the server should have shown you

Eggs for breakfast are always soft!!!! We eat it not on the bread, we "spoon out the egg".
Thanks for the tip.
I am German I grew up eating those breakfasts. The bread roll is even more fantastic with poppy seeds. Yum yum
Oh, that is cool to hear! Poppy seeds would definitely be an upgrade.
The best eggkilling ive ever seen! We do`nt that this way! It was funny!
LOL, we really messed up a lot in this one ;)
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos it’s all in good fun!
Been watching your videos all evening,,I'm absolutely loving them. subbed:)
Thank you very much! Where are you watching from?

isnt a traditional austrian breakfast a cup of coffee and a cigarette on am empty stomach?
Hahaha...that is definitely a thing in Europe. I actually saw more of that in Croatia and Greece though.
i will just ask my friend Herr Giesinger......Mr Bregenz 1983 champ ! lol

As long as no one was hurt... ;-)))
Yeah maybe it's no the cheapest city in the world. But you're paying for the best quality and good portions of food. And of course the city with the best quality of life. My Vienna ♥️ 🇦🇹
It is a great city George.
wow, lots of egg experts in this world. stunning streets and wonderful breakfast :-)
lol, indeed. We definitely weren't the experts on this one ;)
You guys filmed right in the street I used to live. And in one of my favourite cafes!
That is really cool lto hear! We loved that place. Any other favorite spots?
I must catch up with all your vlogs but both so busy with work in London , so we have not stopped following you just busy lol thanks guys 😀
Thank you! Hope things are going well for you in London. We miss being there!
Sam, I really agree with you about the combination of savory and sweet. Viennese breakfast are my absolute favorite. Filling, tasty, great breads, meats and a great atmosphere.
Thank you! It is a wonderful way to start the day. Breakfast can be so boring elsewhere but not in Vienna :)
I like that the old ladies in the Background are drinking beer around 10 oclock 😁 Prost!
Thanks!
btw. Wirr is not a typical viennese cafe.
Our mistake with that. What would be a typical one?
Cafe Sperl in the 6th district www.cafesperl.at/
Thanks for the recommendation!
When i saw how your lady handled the egg i knew you are from overseas. Never have seen something like this :-)
Hahaha...oh, that was pretty embarrassing but we decided to keep it
of course, it´s more authentic. maybe i will try this while having breakfast with my parents and watching their reaction ;-)
Hahaha...that would be interesting
thank you guys you are awesome
Thank you!

Hi there, is it nice over there? Me and my husband will have a Europe trip on July the 24th and Austria is one of it. Your video made me excited thanks.
Thank you! Yes, I think you'll really enjoy Austria.
Thank you for removing that appalling comment and again love watching the vids you guys upload. :)
Thank you! We really enjoyed that meal. Yeah, we're not the type to censor comments (we'll take criticism) but disgusting stuff like that = a ban ;)
What comment?
It was just someone being very inappropriate and immature.
WHAT? WHAT?

Oh, that sounds delicious! Nothing like a good homemade breakfast to start the day.
In Scotland we cut the bread on strips and dip in the soft yolk
Sounds tasty Carol!

Thanks for letting us know! :)
Oh the food!!! So delicious
Thanks for sharing this.
Going to Vienna next week thanks for the tip on how to eat the roll, i would have expected for the egg to be hard boiled too😊
Hope you have a great time Patricia!

Thank you very much!
I hoped that the prices in US dollars would have shown with each menu selection. Audrey periodically interrupted Sam when he was speaking.
Hey guys! Why don’t you come and visit a restaurant on ladypool road, birmingham (u.k)? :D :D
Sounds great! Which one would you recommend?
Do they take credit cards? I’m assuming they do but do they prefer cash or is it ok either way?
Audrey needs to learn how to eat a soft-boiled egg...
We messed up bad here
What are you doing to the egg?! use ur knife to chop off the top, put some butter and salt inn and eat whit the spoon.. Sorry for my English..
Thanks for the tips!
Good video. Nice
Sam, your breakfast looks really. After a few days in Germany and Austria the brot, shinken and eier get a bit repetitive. Your's looked a bit different.
Thanks! We ate really well in Vienna.
:)))))) you guys sooo cold :))))) and yes you are realy cool !!!!!!
Hehehe...thanks!
The cats on the menu are called Sphynx
Thanks for letting us know.
That truck was soooo close to you!
It was!
Oh my Lord. 4:40 ... don't let an Austrian see you eating that Semmel like that. I'm Austrian btw haha
Ooops! Our bad.
you must came to Brasil to taste our food and visit the country
Thank you! We'd love to do that soon.
Peeling soft boiled egg?
That bread roll is called „Semmel“
Thanks for letting us know.
In which district did you eat the breakfast? Greetings from Germany :)
7.
Lots Italian influences
Indeed
I thought Sam was going to go jogging to the beergarden. :)
Pretty much! 🍻🏃♂️
Wirr means Crazy or more like mentaly weird in austria.
Greetings from a local Austrian.
Thanks for explaining that! :)
Living a fun life, you guys make me jealous!:)
Thanks! Hope you can travel to places you want to visit.
Guys, you are cool!!! What is carrot salad? Carrots ... what else?
Wirr can be a name or literally means confused, insane....
Ah, it is an interesting name for a restaurant.
Did you visit Sacher?
Normally You Open the egg on The top and eat it with a spoon ahahahaha
That was really bad of us.
Wirr means "Confused"
Thanks for letting us know!
minute 1:06 in the grey house with the tower i grew up, my parents still lives there. this house was built by the jewish architect max fleischer.
Wow! That is so cool. We really loved this neighborhood. It must have been a great place to grow up.
Yes, i really enjoyed growing up in the 7th district.
Vienna is like Lviv. The little difference is the language ...
Ah, never thought of that comparison.
Austro-Hungarian monarchy ... a big family :)
I am sorry guys, but you were eating this breakfast like barbarians ;) First of all, you should always cut your "Semmel" with a knife into two pieces, so you have 2 slices of bread. And the egg: PLEASE do not remove it. Just talk a small piece of the eggshell and then take a spoon to eat the egg. But thanks for visiting my hometown
Thank you! Appreciate the tips and suggestions. We had a great time in Vienna. We'll try to improve our table manners.
Ohh...you have to cut the top of the egg and scoop the running york with a spoon. That is European way to eat boild eggs.
I've just heard that the Austrian coffee is served with a cup of water and wondered if that's true. And then I found your video and it seems like it's true lol 2:22 4:25
Hehehe...yeah, very common to have that and sometimes it is soda water :)
Very cool!
AHHHHH....What did you just do to that egg?!?!?! You just ruined the best way to eat a slightly boiled egg @Silver Blade, as you said
Haha, I was convinced it was a hard boiled egg until it was too late... 😅
If you hate Egg Yolks then remove it and then. You have the white good Layer of it
That's a good tip!
You're great guys as usually. Cappuccino in Vienna, what can be more typical for Vienna? :-)
More typical would be Wiener Melange :)
Obviously you are not familiar how to eat a soft boiled egg in an egg cup.
?
4:25 this is what a bread roll is supposed to look like, not like that weird American plastic wrapped BS
The portions was the size of Austria,,very small
Not the cheapest? You have never been to Zurich then in Switzerland
Hahaha
6.43 that’s the money shot
lol
the cats are called Sphynx cats :-)
Oh, thanks for letting us know!
@@samuelandaudrey btw, for your next travel to vienna, try "Fiaker Gulasch" fine stuff :-)
Sounds delicious!
i think u can have a better breakfast at wirr..
Where do you suggest next time?
@4:50. The breakfast items on that plate probably don't belong in the stomach at the same time. And I'm not even Jewish!
Awesome 👏📸❤️❤️❤️❤️📸
Thank you!
