Between SA and CB I have so much depth in Sunbreak that it’s hard to find time to play anything else. But ever since sunbreak came out, I truly feel all the weapons are the most fun they’ve ever been. But what do I know, I only played world before this lol 😅

My friend asked me if I would ever switch off SA for some variety the other day. It was a consideration, but I love how deep SA goes. I'm far from being a master, but stuff like your videos keep me excited to keep going.
You’re right! It’s a surprisingly deep weapon on many fronts. So much to talk about!
It also helps that there are so many ways to boost element damage in the true endgame - (Element) Attack, Kushala/Teostra Blessing (for Water, Ice and Fire), Dragonheart + Valstrax Soul (for Dragon), Critical Element, Element Exploit, Bloodlust, Strife, Dereliction, Mail of Hellfire, Burst, Furious + Dragon Conversion, and Blood Awakening all boost element in some easy to do way.
For raw, your options are much more limited and/or conditional, and the existence of Buildup Boost pretty much ruins any reason to use pure raw Switch Axe, and Power Phial with element is only good on matchups where Element Exploit doesn't kick in.
Great Video. For those who are interested in Showing Elemental Damage as Damage Number ingame there is a mod called "Hard or Soft".
Very satisfiying, Sometimes the Elemental Damage is up to 80%. In this Case the mod shows eg. 50(40) as damage number

Honestly, glad I found you. I've been using every weapon through Rise and Sunbreak, because the switch skills give me something with each one. I've been focusing on swaxe recently because I love how fluid the swap attacks feel in this game. And you've been a gold mine for info on this weapon we all love. Started using elemental swaxe after seeing your dragon conversion set, and I'm clearing afflicted rajang like he's a chimp. Keep up the great work

Eh i still use my blast or exhaust SA , too lazy to make all elem builds. Especially with the new weapon upgrades needing so much more grind. But yea damage difference is insane! I am a casual player killing everything(afflicted ) around 9-10 minutes so i am fine with that

I've had this asked quite a few times now. It's been a struggle formulating it into something I'm happy with but I think I may prioritize planning this out!

Is console sunbreak still on TU1? Or on par with current game.
One of the things I wish I knew was how to look at a monster's element HZV on the hunter's notes and be able to tell when element isn't worth it over running raw. Like, is there a set number (like 10 or below, or 15 or below) where the element becomes not worth running over raw, like how Garangolm is weakest to Thunder with only 10 HZV anywhere on his body?
For most of sunbreak it was reasonably to say 15 or less was the threshold. The final builds with the best weapon and armor augments element is just passed raw at 15 but the difference isn’t very significant.
Funny enough garengolm is actually one of few examples where it’s a little misleading what is in the hunters notes. The values listed are garengolms base state. The fire arm takes 25 water and 25 ice. The water arm 25 fire and 25 thunder. And lastly when the face is half and half it is 30 ice and 30 thunder. As a result it’s actually better to bring thunder and go for water arm then close on the face in the last quarter of the fight.
@@AifritGaming Thank you for the informative and detailed answer! I know that sometimes hunter's notes is misleading, like how Barroth it depends on whether or not he has mud on him. Hopefully in MH6 the hunter's notes is even more fleshed out in that sense
I know that element is strong but I have hard time to pick which one is better.
Switch axe has so many Damage sources to the point that it is getting complicated lol
I ended up having 2 builds. The first building I made dragon conversion. Max out all the element skills. And I forgot about furious but I have atk 7 with 100% crit.(with bloodlust and kush rampage) and chain crit 3 (supposedly 15 elements)
Then I found out about furious and I made a second build that ended up losing atk 7 and it becomes 4. Also it lost bloodlust and kush rampage for switcher. So affinity is like 70% . So crit boost 3 is not working 100% of time now. And chain crit now become level 1. With furious 3 I gain about 20 elements so I have higher element now but so much lower raw. Especially while crit-ing. I know phial don’t crit but I felt slashing damage matter too. I guess it’s also about the different elemental hit zone, but I tried to find a medium ground where it is good for the general use since I’m not a speed runner.

I think that if you are doing the dragon conversion build. The biggest gain is furious by a pretty big margin. I would also prioritize burst to level 3 as it's the next biggest gain. After that, going for crit and attack boost are going to yield very similar results. Crit really needs the full 90-100% with crit boost 3 to the big gains. It is pretty complicated if you want to get exactly the strongest but after burst I think the min maxing is pretty small decimal differences.
@@AifritGaminggood advice!! I will try that. Maybe I will give up some of the crit boost too 😂 so many skills I want to fit! I still like powder mantle and I got lucky I augment it together with protective polish on one piece of armor!
with so much buff w elemental in TU4 is this means Power phial is dead now?
I think for the dragon conversion builds probably. Life drain with full crit + strife I can still see power phial competing in certain match ups.
Raw Swaxe(which are exhaust,poison and blast) can be boosted by getting 3 points of Mail of Hellfire and 3 points Buildup boost, with caveat of -100 defense and a point of bloodlust to get coalesence active. This is at least more safe than all time hp drain build.
