I still haven't gotten a chance to mess around much with VR yet, but I always kind of assume you get used to the "motion sick" thing after using it enough. I mean actual motion sickness is something some people have worse because of inner ear stuff and they can't do much about it, but this is technically just vertigo because the you not actually moving all that much. Vertigo is usually just caused by perceived motion or crazy amount if depth of field, not sure how else to explain it (for example standing up on something super high up and looking straight down, you see the thing your standing on with ground level being way below you.) Definitely goes away after being exposed to it enough.
I'm actually so confused by he utter lack of PvP melee games in VR, they really saw how awesome balde & sorcery and swinging bats and swords was, they really saw pavlov and saw how interesting player interaction is even in mute body language and literally no one has still yet to make a proper VR game where people beat each other up (apart from broken edge which barely qualifies)
think it's tricky to do in multiplayer though. like there's obvious hurdles with online multiplayer like netcode, lag and physics but in VR with motion controls you also have the issue of floating swords and cheese, you can do pretty much any move you can think of and this is really hard to balance around. like in single player Blade and Sorcery you can limit yourself to playing "realistically" and not cheese the enemy too much but in multiplayer people will just use the optimum strategy which in a physics based VR game is probably something dumb like waving your sword really fast or jumping around like a maniac. (kind of see this in regular multiplayer games but there they can limit the player's moves and skills a lot more)
@@zwenkwiel816 alotta VR games have done stuff to negate such attempts to cheese "virtual weightlessness" though, i.e. broken edge is not really a sword fighting game as clashing swords instantly ends a round but it has good mechanics where you must fit into your ruleset in order to deal "damage". other VR games like B&S and boneworks/lab obviously just add weight to melee so you can't swing your arms willy nilly. Truth is VR is in it's infancy right now and will remain as so for a while due to getting bottlenecked by the bare minimum so best to do is PLAY VR instead of compete in VR, In comparison to flatscreen I'd already say a majority of the games in VR already mimic the norms and communities of games from the mid 2000's and early 2010's mainly cuz of the lower playercounts, so allow me to skip some elaboration n say that as VR players we should already be seeking fun times over winning... tl;dr, don't release it to the quest store lmao
@@de-mentthe best thing to do is play VR so the community grows except Quest people, apparently they don’t get that luxury? how does that make sense? the Quest crowd IS probably the main VR demographic
VR is a very niche audience these days, because the vast majority of people can't be assed to strap a device to their face and constantly move around for a game. Indie Multiplayer games are notoriously very difficult to sustain a community in, most of them will die entirely after a few months. There are hundreds of dead games on desktop that didn't even make it a week. Ergo, making a VR multiplayer game is just a waste for most developers. As Habie said, even this game won't have a community in two months. It's a real shame but the player numbers just aren't there.
literally most of the most popular vr games are sword combat games which is a shame cause swords in vr usually suck, either too floaty and unresponsive or just glitchy, with the exception of beatsaber and until you fall. But boxing on the other hand works wonderfully, but multiplayer combat in vr is hard due to how glitchy it can be and how easy it would be to abuse. You either add in engine caps to speed to simulate reality so somebody cant just tie a rope to their controller and fling it for impossible speeds, and with that you get a very glitchy experience since the ingame world now tries to track the real one while also trying to be coherent ingame, or you uncap everything and have people abusing/glitching their controllers in various ways to achieve impossible things.
Habie I regret to inform you that a majority of players seem like bots. They all have really odd usernames with unnecessary numbers in them despite the game’s small size, they don’t go for items, run into walls and corners and sit there, etc. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it is for my ego knowing I was fighting bots 💀
Habie is just pretending to be a smoothbrain. If he was really a true smoothbrain he would acknowledge the atomic mirror brains - the saints of the smooth brain gods. If Habie keep ignoring them he should be defrocked, lol
0:27 Man I knew what he was talking about before he even said but when he said “stock” a very specific game title forcefully shoves itself into my head.
2:20 oh no. Smooth turning is the pretty much the only thing in VR that makes me sick. I wanna try, but im scared. Hoping i can change that in the settings if i cant handle it.
ive been trying not to play vr again until i can afford an upgrade, trying to recreate that mindblow moment of the first time. your videos really make me reconsider it sometimes.
Holy BALLS. They really put everything into this. Though, creativity, love... This might just get me back into my poor dusty headset. These people deserve my money.

Yo, Habie if you want to hear my 5cents about why you are so well known and watched. Let's talk. The short version is that you are such a good guy following your heart. And everything you're getting is what you deserve
Finally, a developer who acknowledges motion sickness is a skill issue.
Always has been. weak genes

yeah definitely a skill issue, that's why I never have it XD
I get motion sick every so often. Your comment wounds my pride!!
Once you get used to VR, it's not really an issue anymore.
I like how he said "You can destroy anything, including human beings...bye bye..." then my TV automatically shut off 💀 I thought it was a joke
i liked that too
How did he turn our TVs off like that?

I knew you said "into the radius" at 4:12 for a reason!

Yes for the reason that it was the sentence he said. brainrot
@@grannys1704 he referenced it later in the video, it was intentional

This just showed up on my featured page last night... I said "looks interesting, if habie plays it ill download it"

The gods have spoken!
4:00 I would be yelling "You picked the wrong house fool" everytime I send someone flying lol.

wow very funny
I wouldn't.

yes I know this meme expired long before half the comment section was able to read.
4:12 “Into the Radiu-“
My brain: *HE SAID THE LINE!!! THE FUNNY LINE!!!*
The realism is amazing, the motion sickness makes it seem like I really just got punched in the stomach. Amazing

Now that the game is out I have almost always fought against human beings. The satisfaction of knowing someone was sent to space by my actions is big.
"Why are we in Australia" because naturally this punching power is required to be on equal footing with kangaroos
Makes me think we're that much closer to a fun Dragonball VR game.
Fr I wish there was a game where you could be fighting with someone, punching while you fly and then going into poses like rumble has for the ki moves
*Dragon Ball Kinect flashbacks*
So glad you got the sponsorship. Glad you enjoyed the game!
“Into the radius of another grenade,” what does that remind me of? The fact we need an Into the Radius 2 Video HMMM
Lmao yeah really. I literally said "Not Into The Radius 2??" out loud when I saw the upload
They should call it in 2 the radius
Yeah I was really expecting his next video to be into the radius 2 review
AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS...
I’m positively sure that someone said are you frank horrigan when you had the minigun on your arm. They’re obviously the gigachadest of fallout fans
hahaha im glad other people caught that too
So, I’m not a schizo, good to know
welp thats the next addition to the "vr games that habie makes me want to play when i finally get vr at some point" list
as an Australian, this is indeed what happens everyday in the Middle of the Northern Territory
Lack of atomic mirrorbrains is… disturbing

Gonna charge my headset for the first time in months to play this game, looks awesome!
Your skill ceiling is decided not by your skill, but your resilience to motion sickness

Habie, exceptional video. Nicely done, lots of perspective as a well worn player of VR games. See you at 2
Punch to move is something that be wanted in vr for a long time

then rewatch this video and buy it without even thinking
Wher atomic mirror brains?
