- Help Cure EB at give.ebresearch.org/johnhudson_sbsk
John Hudson is diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa, leaving him in a body covered in open wounds since he was an infant. He has advocated for a cure for this horrible condition since his youth, hoping that children in the future will never know the same pain that has left him bedridden. John and his advocacy were a contributing factor to the first ever FDA approved treatment for EB that was released to the public recently. This new development has given John hope that his efforts have been worthwhile and that a cure is still possible.
Researchers believe a cure for EB is possible by 2030 and you can help at give.ebresearch.org/johnhudson_sbsk . This is a fundraiser for the EB Research Partnership in John Hudson’s name. If everyone who wants to help John contributes just a bit, it will go a long way in helping to find a cure. Thank you for helping John and the many others who are impacted by EB.

A fine young man, worrying about others before himself.
Millionaires and billionaires should put their money in this research.
Or one million thousandaires
I feel so terribly ashamed of have ever complained about anything in my life.
You’re allowed to complain. Disabled people don’t exist for you to pity us and make you feel like your struggles are less than. Everyone’s struggles are different, don’t feel bad for complaining, we all do it
@@choccymilkconnoisseur2775Extremely well said. It’s the same argument people employ when they say you aren’t valid for struggling with anything in your life because there are children starving in impoverished countries… like what?
@@godsstrongestschizo I think the original comment has a point, though. We should be more grateful for what we have, and remember those who are less fortunate than us rather than looking up to those more fortunate than us. It helps put life in better perspective, and calibrates your level of gratitude and satisfaction. So while this doesn’t mean we should shut down any urge to complain or feel frustrated (which are perfectly normal human emotions), we should indeed realize that we are in a better position than millions (if not most) of the world’s population. Even the ability to hear, see, and feel, are tremendous blessings from the Creator.
Remember: the happiest people are not those who have more - but those who need less.
Peace.
It's not about complaining. Validate your feeling but always be grateful. Pray/ meditate and pay it forward ❤
@@choccymilkconnoisseur2775 I'm going to quote this a lot in the future.
John Hudson might not look like a 21yr old man, but he is a bigger man than any of us.
Facts
I had no idea he was that old, ive been on and off following this channel for years and remember seeing him and mentally in my head hes been like 12 or whatever that entire time.
To live with this for 21 years, damn. Dudes strong.
Good god. Some of these comments are so corney. It's not that someone said it. It's that some 50 year old grown adult thinks it's not crazy to be posting on mentally ill digital forums. When Facebook first came out it was just kids. Still not healthy but an excuse was that it was just dumb kids. Then all the boomera get jealous and start joining, ruining there party. Then it just proved our society is dooned.
Maybe just post how you feel. Seriosuly. Who is the target audience of this post? You say "bigger man than any of us", so your target audience is men? But your comment is something an adult would say trying to impress a child. So which is it?
I'm sure John would appreciate my thoughtfulness. He's obviously a deep thinker, and has some criticisms about modern society implied by his impression with Japan over the west.
I can imagine some commenter gasping reading this, like "omg, the gravity of the situation". Yes we know. You're not treating him with respect if you think my criticism of this childish comment hurts his feelings. I'm criticizing our dumb culture. Not him.
Truth!
I really can't even comprehend being that damn tough. I have immense respect for this young man.
When he said the rest of his body is way worse than his hands, my heart shattered.
John Hudson’s mom is the strongest woman I’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have a kid with such a serious disease. They both really are lucky to have each other. They truly are rockstars

The fact that John Hudson is experiencing excruciating pain constantly and can still be so thoughtful, well-spoken, patient, and respectful is incredible. Hello John Hudson! I am donating $50 worth of money to the EB research community. I send this money in honor of your story. It really inspired me, and I hope that you will go far someday. Never let anybody judge who you are! Be proud of yourself! I struggle with spina bifida. It really makes my life hard, but I persevere. Sincerely, Gage H (age 11) Edit from Gage's mom: Gage came home from a weekend away and was overwhelmed by the love and words of support for him and John Hudson both. Thank you all for building him up as you did.
Hi Gage! I’m sorry you struggle with spina bifida. I’m quite a bit older than you but I also struggle with chronic pain from other conditions. You seem like an incredibly caring, kind, and strong young man. Keep going strong, we believe in you!

Hi Gage! What a lovely person. I have a friend with spina bifida. She made it on to Team GB for the olympics, doing hand cycling (wheelchair cycling) and also does modelling. I doubt she imagined that at age 11. I hope you can do wilder, funner things than you can imagine yet :)
“Some people weren’t as blessed as I was” what an amazing human being, I pray for his health and happiness.
So he’s laying on a Spider Man pillow… we should be laying on a pillow with this guys face! Because he’s a Hero!!! I can’t imagine the strength he has to have!!!!
This young man doesn't have a perfect body, by any means, but what a perfect heart, soul and attitude. God bless you, sir. And I'm so sorry for the loss of your father.
Reading through the comments, I want you all to know that just because you don't have it as bad as John Hudson, doesn't mean your pain is invalid. We all have our struggles and they are just as real and impactful as they feel to you. The human body and brain are amazing at adapting, and some of us go through unthinkable traumas. But you don't need to be one of those people to justify your emotions, your feelings, your pain, your stress. The thought that "I can't complain because others have it worse" is incredibly self-deprecating and doesn't appreciate you for who you are as a person. Love yourself and those around you! Ask for help when you need it. The only person you should compare yourself to is your past self, because we always want to be learning and growing. Abandon toxic ideas like "I'm not worth it" or "I don't have the right to speak". We can appreciate and share love for ourselves at the same time as we share it for John. We can acknowledge that he has it worse, but also acknowledge that we ourselves may need help or relief. These concepts can exist together!
Exactly!
Thank you curo. Everything you said is true. I feel great compassion and empathy for this guy. The Bible basically states that when one grows old it to teach compassion in others. I don't believe growing old is a prerequisite for that though. I do believe that people come into our lives that are ill to help teach the true nature of love. Without intention he's doing that. Not only to be loved, but to love. We have to show that love to ourselves as well. God bless this incredible, brave young man. I wish him and his family the very best. He one day like the rest of us will cross over and leave his ailing body behind. His soul will go on unhindered and into the arms of total love. All is not lost.
I don't agree. A lot of people walk around with self inflicted issues. Complaining is not always valid
While I agree with you this does put so much into perspective. He’s a strong kid.

I've also felt really, really hopeless from depression - and I still have depression. But thanks to medicine it's been so... faded? My dad helped advocate for me to try a different antidepressant that his doctor friend had talked about was relatively new still but works especially to help against low energy levels (which was a huge problem for me), and gradually it is really getting better. At someone who is 20 I completely agree, he seems so much wiser than me and my peers, crazy how that much hardship can mature you like that.
I see people like this and it just crushes my spirit. God either doesn't exist or doesn't care about us.
He reminds me of Johny Kennedy a lot; for his courage, fortitude, wise beyond his years, and great intelligence. May God bless him and heal him.
No words for this remarkable young man and his journey 💔🙏🏻 Grace upon grace to him and his family
RIP to Johns father and condolences to all who knew and loved him. I truly wish the best for John and his fight against EB. John has an endurance of pain at a threshold I could not imagine. His daily suffering is something hard to grasp.
dear God, I gotta stop complaining when I have a bad day, or a headache or my knee hurts. Surely this guy will set on the throne beside Jesus.
Jesus looks at this guy and counts himself lucky
His stoicism makes him fit for Valhalla.

I’m blown away at how amazing this guy is. To be so grateful and have such a positive outlook despite the challenges he faces is great to see. Most people curse the world and everyone in it when things don’t go their way. Really puts things in perspective.
The strength of these two is beyond measure.
I've never forgot this warrior of a kid from a few yrs ago when I first saw him. An absolute gentleman and a true warrior in this life. I've been a spinal cord injured paraplegic myself since I was 18 back in 97' from a crash. I've always said that mental fortitude is so key in this life and its true for so many of us. I wish i could hang out with this guy and chill, make him smile and have a laugh. My sincerest prayers to him and his family always.
He's 21 so not a kid.
@@DoABarellJohuman life expectancy is 78 he’s a child in the long run anyone under like 25 is lol
@DoABarellJo I meant what i said and how I said it very sincerely. I'm a few yrs away from 50, and I don't think he would be "offended" by said comment. I know he is literally not a kid now, and when i first saw him, he was very much a kid, so yeah......carry on and troll some more.
I'm more of a warrior.
@@WeirdSmellyMan what a sad, strange little man you are to be offended by a disabled person.
Chronic pain is no joke. John Hudson is such a sweet soul. Best wishes for this guy, he deserves it.
Wow! This disease is horrible. John, you are an amazing person. I really enjoyed this interview as you helped to educate me about your condition. I am so glad you have great support helping your daily routine. I’m so glad this new treatment seems to help & I hope that your soon able to put it on more of your wound areas. I hope research finds a cure soon! Thank you for sharing your story!
Amazing personality with beautiful heart .
What a pleasant surprise to see John Hudson on SBSK today! I honestly wasn't sure if he was even still with us, so seeing him today was so wonderful! This new treatment they're trying is exciting! I pray they're able to find a cure for EB. I would love to see him able to travel to Japan. John Hudson's humility is awe-inspiring! ❤❤
Incredible. I feel like I've been following his life for years. It's nice to hear some good news.
John, you have helped my son SO much. He's 18 & has lived with extreme eczema since he was 3 months old. His life has been head to toe constant pain & infernal itching (for those that don't know what an eczema itch is like think of the itch athletes foot causes from head to toe). At the worst point, he looked like he'd been burned with hot oil head to toe, at his best point, he looks like he's gotten into the worst bed of poison ivy or poison oak ever seen. He has drawn hope & inspiration from you & your story. Though eczema & EB are entirely different, and even my son knows your pain is FAR more extreme, he sees you & knows he CAN keep going. We, as well, are on a search for an effective treatment for him, as nothing on the market currently is sufficient. At best, the current treatments just make his skin goopy & EVERYTHING clings to the goop, but it doesn't improve the eczema, We are both jumping for joy for the hope the EB research & new EB treatment have brought! Thank you for continuing to share your story, because you've helped people that are struggling in very real ways as well! We love you, John!
I pray and hope one day there will be a cure for his condition. Watching this, I sit and realize how much I complain about the smallest things in life, that in reality compare no where to what his daily life consists of…😢 peace be with you. 🙏🏼
I know someone who has to be in bed 24/7 as well, but even his condition is not to this level. I don't even know what to say. This young man deserves the world.
Immediately clicked when I saw John Hudson. The strongest kid that's ever lived. Good to see you JH keep fighting
He's 21 so not a kid.
The strongest person of any age I think....
@@DoABarellJo Yes he is a kid! So is my 19 year old son
Totally humbling! Such a brave strong young man...
John! We love you, buddy! I hope you know how many people you've touched and how many of us are pulling for you.
