Deadspace 2 was something to behold. I remember being 12 years old and going to my local gamestop..spent hours skimming through the games, then I saw it, Isaac's helmet illuminated with the blue lights and my first thought was "cooool" that's all my 12 year old brain could muster. I held it like the holy grail. I smacked it on the counter waiting for my dad's approval, and per usual the guy at the counter said this game was rated 18+ the usual stuff, seeing that my dad had no reaction- since I was playing games like gears of war by that time, the guy at the counter got a little more serious, he leaned closer to us and told me directly "this game is scary and I don't think you can handle it, are you sure you want this game?" Me being the naive 12 year old that i was said yes. I only made it to chapter 5 and didn't touch until I was 14. scariest game I could ever play.

The dead space games are all trash. Just repetitive monster shooting all the time and the game keeps spamming enemies to try to get you to die. Boring puzzles. The story was complete garbage. Idk how ppl consider it to be good games.

Finally a realistic rating for ds3
It wasn't that bad it just wasn't as good as the previous two games
Looking back the first one is the best and the remake of it is so good (the atmosphere is insane) that I think remaking 2 and 3 will only show me how much better the first one is (I still like all the games, except ignition)
It was good game, it just wasnt good Dead Space.
This can be also said about games like DOOM 3

Story was alright but gameplay was so mid man, it did not have any of that dead space charm, customizable weapons took all the personality, and challenge out of combat, and co-op for a horror game ain’t it 😭
The remake is one of the most faithful remakes anyone can do to a game. It’s absolutely amazing.
The QOL changes were phenomenal yet subtle enough that they didn’t change the essence or memory of the game. It is easily on the MT Rushmore of remakes and possibly the best of said mountain!

Same here man, sad it's no longer available to purchase on app stores, but luckily you can find the APK for it out there. Been playing it on my phone recently and reliving childhood memories.

Dead space 2 isaac was too capable and the gameplay plus movement speed matched that
the problems i have with Dead Space 2 is that the tormenter was such a let down... many enemy types that were so good from the 1sr DS was almost extinct like the wall guardians, dividers and the finally the twitchers who weren't even present in the base game and only appeared in the DLC... the pregnant tripods was only used once in the church.... the regenerater/ubermorph was very under utilised compared to the 1st game where it felt like it was Mr X and nemesis from Resident Evil... there wasn't really any big boss fights like the 1st game which is fine but a lot of missed opportunity with the above that I mentioned... now on to the story... the only problems that i have is with isaac not appearing as insane as he should be where ellie would not trust him at all until the end of the game but I like how you can view isaac as a villain in the 2nd game since he built the marker and he doesn't really save ppl and would only try to save ppl in the 3rd like how the bald girl died where isaac said he couldve saved her and was going insane over it and I like how isaac knowingly disables the power which in lore killed many and many soldiers and innocent ppl by the necromorphs

Dead space ignition was good story wise. The guy you play is the guy who dies 3 seconds in the intro of DS2

Extraction was a good game
The story was something else with this one, I loved it
Played it myself, poker-faced from start to finish, and did the hand chopping QTE first try.
Not a bad prequel for its canon, but not the top five for me. At least, of all time. 2010s, though, definitely.

I was one of those people that only got scared once in each of the Dead Space games. I remember each scare specifically.
Original Dead Space was the body dropping down from a vent at the start of the game. It made me jump.
Dead Space 2 was seeing the ishimura again. Gave me that “Not again…” vibe and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Dead Space 3 was an axe wielding necromorph right at the start.
Dead Space Remake was a necromorph rushing across a doorway when I went to pick up an item right at the start of the game.
Games like Dead Space and Resident Evil don’t scare me for a basic reason… I have weapons and a desire to kill the monsters on the most beautiful way possible, like using the Plasma Cutter to surgically dismember the necromorphs in a few swift shots.
DS3 wasn't a big deal but it was fun, putting damage modifiers on a weapon with 2 Magnum barrels, or putting speed modifiers on weapon with 2 rocket launchers, it was fun

My usually response to the “not scary enough” is “so having 5 Hunters/Ubermorphs chasing you at once isn’t good enough?”
Running into the Ubermorph is Dead Space 2 was honestly such a hype moment for me, but running into one in DS3, downing it, then seeing 2 more behind him set me into a sense of panic (not fear though). Was more of a “Well damn this is gonna be hell to deal with!”

Dead space 3 is not a good dead space but it’s a good game. But when it released you have to look around what else was being released too. Lots of action games were taking over the scene
everything that was wrong with DS3 was because of EA.... originally Visceral wanted a pure survival horror and have it be scarier than the its predecessors like ffs the game was going to be set in a frozen ice planet which was inspired by The Thing.... there are still remains of what DS3 could've been originally like the blind smeagull enemies in the kitchen but that was only used once or twice.... the crafting system was going to be a lot different by being even deeper than the final version
Yeah it really had to do with the climate of the gaming media. Everything at the time was multiplayer shooters with a few action adventure games sprinkled about

Extraction was fun to play,there's even a DLC in dead space 2 where lexine and sgt weller are the protagonists ,such a shame what happened to nathan.
I haven't played that one. Looks cool on the Wii. Might consider getting it, considering it takes place before the events of Dead Space.
DS3 was a solid game, and it was a nice touch to introduce crafting and modifying your own weapons, but it got maybe a little too crazy with it

When i was a kid i rented Dead Space 3 from blockbuster only to find Dead Space 2 in there, i was a little irritated at first but i played it anyway. Probably one of the best games ive played. Like ever lol
It was cool how every single story tied into each other though. The freaking puzzle game showed who the guy who gets destroyed in the beginning of DS2 was!

As someone who's played literally every *Dead Space* game there is/was, I 100% agree with this. *Dead Space 3* definitely wasn't the best, but it was still pretty good! *Dead Space Remake* is just... absolutely amazing. *Dead Space 2* though... that game's on a whole 'nother tier. Above even the remake.
Even 12 years later, I play 2 more than every other game. I've beaten it more times than I can count, definitely hundreds of times, and it never gets any less boring.
It's wild because all of the lore is cannon
Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are literally like the Alien and Aliens of gaming. The perfect 1-2 punch of horror and horror-action, both games are perfectly paced, acted, written, they've got everything.
Glad to see we didn't hate on Dead Space 3 - that game had some good ideas, some bad ideas, but was hardly a disgrace.

I really enjoyed Dead Space 3. The “fans” of this series can really be crybabies tbh. It’s still got the dark environments, gruesome death scenes, grotesque monsters, and little hallucinations and hearing voices thing like the previous2 games. It feels like Dead Space just as much as any of the others. The problem is you’re not going to be scared by the same damn thing forever. Just because people were desensitized to the Dead Space style of horror by that point and didn’t piss themselves doesn’t mean it was bad. Just because it had more action doesn’t mean it was bad. God forbid we try to have a fun experience. If the entire game was just atmosphere and suspense but all you did was walk around and run from things never having one fight it would be boring as all hell. The weapon’s crafting system was great, the graphics were amazing for it’s time. The environments were really fun to explore. The lore behind the game and all the things you learn about the Marker’s history were cool. The first 2 were better as pure horror games yes. But I personally had the most fun overall gameplay wise with Dead Space 3. It was a victim of being released when EA hate and boycotting was at it’s peak. It’s a shame we lost the series for a decade over it. Too many people never even played the Awakened DLC for 3 which actually brought a lot of the horror feel back and ended on a massive cliffhanger for a 4th game that we never got. Remake of 1 was cool but honestly I’d rather they pick up the story they never finished.

Dead Space 2: the absolute GOAT.
Dead Space 1: damn good.
Dead Space mobile: good.
Dead Space ignition: never played it.
Dead Space Extraction: never played it.
Dead Space 3: its just okay, nothing else to add.
Ignition is trash,extraction was pretty good and terrifying and 3 was a good and fun game.

the main thing i like about ds1 is how dark it is and that feeling that once you re enter a room all the enemies would have respawned just for them to not be in the same places and instead come out of the vents

I'd even say it was a good game overall, it was weighed down by the scummy EA meddling, but it was probably the best game narratively. It has a lot of really cool ideas like the weapon crafting. And the actual co-op levels are a really cool thing to experience. Overall I'd give it somewhere between a 6.5/10 - 7/10
Before the Remake of 1 came out I decided to finally binge all 3 games to see what the hype was all about and honestly after I did I absolutely hated myself for not playing it sooner. Greatest horror game series to ever exist

Dead space 2 it was the fact I kept stepping on bottles and random things that scared me the most in the start cuz I had Halo Flood flashbacks. In the start after the chaos the first necromorph I encountered I used a whole clip cuz I didn’t know. I shot its head off and made its “chest“ and “stomach?” Look like pulp and my friend was with me. It slumped over and I was “Fwew, thank goodness” right as it got up and slapped me into oblivion. Talk about jump scare. Good grief.

Crazy how the remake is better than the original, but it makes sense with the story expanded on, Isaac actually having a voice and of course the visuals being updated. They did amazing.

DS3 is a 4/10 simply for trying, and failing, the same way with crafting as MKA did with kreate-a-fatality. Without serious polish, you loose ALL CHARACTER when you mix and match without soul.

My first game into the franchise was Dead Space 3 after hearing how good 1 & 2 were. I enjoyed the co-op and meeting new friends that way and getting DLC through slim jims and mountain dew was peak.
This dead space remake hasn’t felt like the RE4 remake but they certainly did it justice still.
Straight up haven’t had more fun in a coop game than Dead space 3. Unironically worth it to play through the whole franchise with a friend so you can play DS3 together
To this day, DeadSpace is what I hold other horror games up to.
DeadSpace 1 was built to be the most terrifying game to exist, and by the gamer gods did they succeed!
To this day it’s the only game that had Grandmothers around the world trying to get it cancelled before it came out, because it was too scary. And the grandmothers were worried about their grandkids playing it.
Dead space is scary as hell and fun as hell at the same time. One of the few horror games that keeps you tense almost the entire time. Super expansive weapon/combat system with lots of upgrades. The telekinesis ability is so fun to use, impaling enemies with their own fallen brethrens’ limbs, so awesome. The stasis ability that allows you to slow enemies down is super cool too, all this mixed with the creepy infested spaceship setting, along with the interesting and dark story which causes your character to lose sanity more and more by the end of the game are what make this game so amazing. So glad we got dead space 1 and 2, will always be timeless games to go back to.
Definitely curious as to whether the Remake's success means we're getting remakes of the other games next or if they're reviving Dead Space 4 and that'll be the next release.

I think hopping into dead space 2 without even playing the first game just added to the experience for me. It has such a strong story to tell that it just seemed to hold up without any gaps.

I remember playing DS mobile on my ipod and I loved how you had to turn your device to rotate the plasma cutter. The plasma saw was dope as fuck too
Dead space 3 kind of reminded me of Residents Evil 6. Except Dead Space did a better job of keeping you scared and providing Michael Bay moments
