  • I keep my ketogenic diet simple. I don't like talking specific foods, but you all wanted to know what I eat in a day. So I made a simple video to show you how I eat, but many were confused. So let's set the record start on if I have unhealthy eating patterns or not.

I have a history of anorexia, and I can say that since I became carnivore on May 4, 2022. I am now the healthiest I have ever been! I used to be so afraid of fat, but now I love fat and it is so satiating! My attitude towards food has been healed! And to boot, I just had an X-ray done to check on my kidney stones. I have suffered with them for over 25 years! This film showed one tiny 1mm stone in my right kidney. In June of 2022, I had a scan that showed multiple bilateral stones with a huge 1cm stone on the right. Carnivore has dissolved my stones! That 1cm stone is now 1mm, and all the other ones are just gone. I am maintaining a 65 pound weight loss, I no longer have GERD nor Barrett’s esophagus and my mood is so much better. Carnivore is an elite, very healing diet! You go, Dr. Boz!!

I am so happy about your stones getting disolved&flushed!( you dodged a 1cm bullet there~ whew) Keep up your electrolytes and mineral salts and you will flush the otherone as well. God bless you on your journey to improved health and peace of mind. Stay strong and keep consistent in your groove. GG( an X-Ray Tech!) in MN

So glad you lucked out. I'm not being facetious it was really awesome. I've seen too many people say that one month of carnivore gave them kidney stones or bladder stones or gallbladder stones, or gout and I have to tell them "you aren't developing a deposit that quickly on almost any diet" or "are you sure you weren't oxalate dumping?"
I spend about an hour or 2 before I comment to make sure some mechanism to develop such a thing so quickly wasn't discovered because I don't like telling people they are being stupid in the nicest way possible while also being wrong with my criticism.
I've heard someone say "that fat can kill you quick a guy went into a keto diet and died of a heart attack a month later"
"Really? We know for sure it was the one month and not the previous 30-60 years leading up to that month for absolute sure? They got a clean cardio angiogram before doing keto and then died a month later from severe blockages?"
I hope you continue to heal. There's gonna be a lot of misinformation. People even content creators often don't read past the headlines which almost never has anything to do with the actual content of the article so tell your story so that people can at least understand what healing is and not just hear from every unhealthy low information consumer what problems flared up doing keto, as if keto caused it specifically.

"Balanced" diets always make you white knuckle it every 4 hours. All my addictions went away when I quit the carbs, including nicotine. Love my life! / 63yo male.

Same thing happened to me. I've had terrible breath since forever. Tried absolutely every remedy known to man to correct the problem but nothing worked. When I went carnivore I was so worried about how eating only meat would make my breath worse. The opposite happened instead. I was so pleasantly surprised. Who would have thought carbs and processed foods were the reason for the bad breath? I also stopped grinding my teeth at night and stopped breathing through my mouth. I also cured a plethora of other health issues and lost weight. I look and feel fantastic and my life has improved tremendously. Carnivore for the win!

Dr. Boz, I’m a hygienist and my husband is a dentist. Many of our patients consume high carbohydrate diets, especially seniors. The amount of decay we are treating is staggering. I try to counsel my patients that carbohydrate digestion begins in the mouth, but most do not understand what a carbohydrate is.
I asked one older patient, who had a lot of decay, if he ate a high carbohydrate diet. He said, no. I eat pancakes with syrup for breakfast. A yogurt and fruit for a morning snack. A sandwich for lunch. A granola bar for an afternoon snack. Pasta for dinner 🤣

This vid hit home for me! Ironically folks have told me I might have an eating disorder because I eat just one meal a day and I start my days with bulletproof coffee. I was overweight, suffered from inflammation, had embarrassing acne, and other crappy stuff I had to endure, other than I was was always hungry! Now I am in good health, my weight is at a constant low weight, no inflammation, acne under comtrol! My teeth are whiter, my brushing habits have not changed BTW, lol. I also eat Sardines when I feel I need to eat something, Keto has been my lifestyle for a few years now! My appetite is suppressed and I don't feel like I have to eat so much during the day. I suppose one can say I have an eating disorder since it is not your typical American junk diet.

I've tried so many diets over the years. Most recently vegan. My tummy was so upset and very loose stools and joint pain. I'm back to keto and carnivore. I did vegan because i know i have dairy and gluten allergies and thought it might be a good way to reduce calories while not starving. I didn't gain weight, but didn't loose any either. Just a 2 days back in, a little keto flue, but luckily i have dr. Boz canned ketones which help so much. I'm already down 5 lbs (probably just inflammation water weight, but not good for me) and my knees stopped hurting.
It will be a few weeks before doing the fasting, but so glad for dr boz work book to know it's a chemical change and give the body a chance to adapt before fasting.
I still am amazed that I can feel so good by eating meat. And, the best is no longer being a slave to carbs. As soon as I have a carb, i want more and my stomach becomes a bottomless pit. Verses, I eat meat and feel satisfied and then I'm not hungry or interested on food for 5-6 hours. It's amazing.

Keto made me feel horrible, and plant based has healed me. It's reversed my type2 diabetes and healed so many issues. I've lost 30+ pounds and counting. This just shows that everyone has different experiences. This is why I never judge others for how they eat, especially if they are genuinely doing what makes them feel better. I know a lot of people try to pit one diet against another, or make fun of vegans for being "weak and sickly", or call carnivores "walking heart attacks", but some people just react better to certain diets than others. We should all choose what's best for us. 😊

I "fast" 2 days per week- only eating 2 tins of sardines on those days plus water and coffee-and I feel very satiated. The rest of the week it's carnivore. My uric acid levels are LOW and I have never had a gout flare since switching to carnivore. I have never felt better! I'm 59, female and at my ideal weight. Arthritic symptoms are almost totally resolved. Thyroid antibodies are reducing/improving ( I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis)
I agree with Dr Boz 100%. The anti-inflammatory effects of this way of eating has really worked wonders for my health.

@@MP-uq3zr I really do not count macros- I just eat when I'm hungry- I feel great when I fast! Sardines are amazing in that they really are satisfying but I find that King Oscar w/ skins and bones to be the most satisfying. On other days I'll steak/short ribs/pork chops/ hamburger-- 2- 3 x daily - enough to feel full- again I don't measure anything. It's a normal portion each meal. Sometimes I snack on carnivore crisps and even a TBSP cold butter 1-2 x daily. Mood is stable all day, and no energy swings. I work in health care too so at work I am super busy and not sitting all day at all.

I have been a big coffee drinker for 45 years, but recently discovered via blood glucose monitor that it was raising my glucose levels to very unhealthy numbers(nearly diabetic) . After stopping coffee recently (Decaf was an offender as well), my fasting/morning blood glucose has dropped back into the 80's after 1 week. My body may be unique, but I was literally killing myself drinking coffee while on a carnivore diet. Just wanted to pass this info along, I tested my wife and coffee raised her glucose levels by 20-30 points as well, a real eye-opener for us.

I often have a can of sardines with my beef, putting both on a plate, then warmed in a toaster oven, not a microwave oven. I find sardines taste better when they're warmed, and that food warmed up with real heat tastes better than food heated in a microwave oven. Haven't used one of those in 10 years.

I have fasted 72hrs already without being hungry. (Yes, that is taking things a bit fast but I am doing fine). I recently purchased your workbook & textbook and they are extremely helpful. My blood pressure is consistently dropping into pre-hypertensive levels and I thank the Lord Jesus for that! I remain in a constant state of ketosis and pray for improvement in my hand-eye coordination. My DBR remains in the mid-20's, morning fasting glucose in the 80's & ketones in the 3's. Praise the Lord and pass the bacon please! Keep up the great work.

Coffee has been consumed, in fairly large quantities, for centuries. If coffee did have any deleterious effects (0:15 - 1:50) we would have found them by now. It turns out that many long lived nations in Europe have some of the highest rates of coffee consumption. While I am NOT saying that coffee contributes to longevity. What can be said is that coffee doesn't have any destructive effects that could reduce lifespan.

So I wanted to hear your video and read a few comments before responding. She is underrating and could incorporate more fat and protein to existing thresholds and still be in light ketosis. Many are focused on chasing high ketones number but that is often not the best state to be in longterm. Once your body knows its getting enough calories ketones numbers will drop naturally and will be at its natural set point. For instance I'm at .5mmol/l all the time and i eat anywhere from 2200 - 3000 calories per day and workout hard 3 days per week for 60 mins session. My blood work is good for most part some areas I need to get in more optimal range but all in all I'm trying to make a point of not undereating because your body will seek the calories from muscles and organs, and even skin and tissues if you dont give it enough. The body is a give and take machine and cant conjure something from nothing. Also if you dont eat enough your bodies cells and organs dont operate as well which can be a double edge sword.

I started doing keto many years ago.. Long story short I have started again recently and am THANKFUL for your channel and the information you share. With the sardine fast I was able to go into ketosis in 2 days. I take my sardines to work for breakfast. The night before I put them in a different container the night before and let them set out a few minutes before I close the lid. I now add a little Tabasco sauce for flavor and aroma control. Haters come in categories with one being argumentative trolls and people that did the keto lifestyle incorrectly or halfway.

5th week of carnivore here. Not stopping anytime soon. Why? Well, things may change, but basically, I feel mentally clearer, emotionally calmer, no more bloating and gassiness - virtually no cravings, and very little hunger. I no longer feel the need to graze non stop in carbs, veggies and fruit. What can I say? So far, not perfect, but some very interesting results. I'll continue until the 3 month period is over, and then reconsider my position, whether I add in anything other than meat, fish, eggs, butter and some cheese/yoghurt. Lets see how it goes..

    I'm your fan Dr. Boz!!
    I enjoyed this video.
Sorry so many people are judging you! I was really shocked by those eating disorder comments. Those people need to do more research.
I think that it seems like someone specific with anti-keto influence .. someone who loves to talk about the Mediterranean diet BS and how its "so good" and how carbs are necessary etc etc.. I'm guessing someone like that shared your video on a blog or other social media.. and got everyone reading to be appalled. This is a biased population giving these ignorant comments judging keto .... Honestly it could even be a representative of a business that's scared of keto success and trying to promote fear through lots of fake comments --
That's right, I'm not even sure if the comments were authentic.
I'm on carnivore so my opinion is lectins first thing in the morning, probably you would feel a million times better if you gave it up, after the transition was over. The tiredness is probably from caffeine addiction isnt it? Just like my husband has a headache until he has his coffee, and then it goes away. I think his headache and your tiredness would both probably reduce or go away if without coffee and after the hard withdrawal transition. I mostly think that about lectins because of Dr. Chaffee. He witnesses lots of people go keto or carnivore but they keep their coffee first thing and do feel better after quitting.
My husband reacts to the pesticides in coffee so we have to buy organic. We'll there's more antinutrients (plant defense chemicals ) in coffee that is mon organic because it's making its own natural pesticides as well. I learned this from Dr. Anthony chaffee.
But that's just my non-doctor opinion and like I said, I'm far left on carnivore/lions diet so obviously that's an extreme opinion, I recognize the extremity. Moderation is good too.
I have had an ND for 10 years. She talks about adrenal fatigue differently. Not sure, I think it may be more than just stress. What about chronic infections, stress like insulin fluctuations and body stress? I developed adrenal fatigue from 18 years of undiagnosed lyme disease.
So I still think you're rocking it. Don't listen to anybody! Have coffee if you want to! I'm sure like you said that the benefits of keto outweigh the negatives of coffee. So go for it! May it bless your day every day! 😊❤🎉
But if you're ever looking for more extra health improvement, you might reevaluate plant defense chemicals in coffee.

I’m old and have been food addicted for most of my adult life. My version of dieting was rarely low calories - it’s easy to be confused when one is used to hundreds of carbs. So, when I heard you talk about how little you ate (like 2 cans of sardines) I too thought you might have an eating disorder.
So now that I’m within a couple of lbs of a normal weight and have completed 4 sardine challenges, I can say that I get you. I had 2 cans first day and usually one for second day, and
by the 3rd day I forced that final can. For me, I just wasn’t hungry, plus the whole idea of those stinky fish kept me from wanting more. 😆
The upside of feeling so great is enough to encourage me to include a couple of cans per week.
    Thank Dr Boz!

I still IF and love to workout fasted, empty stomach morning coffeee, break my fast with a can of sardines 3 times per week while breaking fast with 2 strips of bacon with 4 eggs and an avacado the other 4 days. I go by the mantra of "earn your carbs" with high activity , which of course, lower glycogen in your muscles/liver so when I have evening carbs my body welcomes them! As someone who used to see people skip breakfast in the morning with absolute horror from my side, I can truly say that it's difficult to understand this while you are living it day by day. I mean hunger (in that moment) is real, the pain that comes with it is real, everything in that moment is very real. However, the other side of it is also real (the person being used to skipping breakfast), and it is important to be patient when trying to explain to someone that "you don't need breakfast to stay alive", now that I've been to the process of training myself off breakfast, I am now in a position where i sometimes don't understand how someone wake up hungry while they just slept 8+ hours (i.e. did nothing). I remember how difficult it initially was, but now I can't imagine being in that situation

I had friends who were worried I wouldn't get enough nutrition from just eating low carb, AKA not enough veggies. They were worried mostly I wouldn't get enough minerals and(rather haughtily as I recall) and warned me I'd get scurvy from lack of vitamin C. I then showed them that three eggs and a skirt steak and some bacon or fish are among the few relatively inexpensive foods that makes it easy to get the 3-4K mg of potassium per day, has more than enough Vitamin C to prevent scurvy so long as it is fresh, not canned, and supplied more than a day's supply of all the essential amino acids. The general population really needs to update the firmware.

Didn't see what you eat in a day, but carnivore made this a pretty easy deal for me. Cheapest meat for sale. Don't really care what other people want to believe, it is wasn't working I would not stay on it. Good deal for me, not a doc or influencer so I don't have to answer to anyone else. 🙂. Only meat got rid of cravings or temptations, which was the other reason. However you choose, if you are happy, don't worry about what other's think. Your fixing yourself, not everyone else.
Just heard a phrase this morning that I loved, "Hunger is the signal to go hunt". Too many of us are signaled to hunt far too often for the wrong reasons. 🙄. Get hungry, go exercise, then when you feel like eating go feast. Intermittent feasting for the win! 👍

I think it’s excellent that you addressed some of the comments. I don’t think there’s anything bizarre about cutting carbohydrates out of your diet. I can tell you as a former wine drinker and or vodka drinker carbohydrate junkie that once you get rid of the garbage food you just don’t get hungry like you used to. It’s amazing how satiating a can of sardines can be but after a half a bag of Twiddlers you can still go and eat a full meal or more. The addictive quality of junk carbohydrates is real I can attest to that. Once you clean up your food the sugar cravings go away and your mood definitely changes for the better. It’s a battle that’s very tough because with every late night advertisement the carbohydrate drug dealer tries to reiterate that you have to have their product. Anyone that wants to try to change give it to good Two weeks and you’ll see your habits change and your desire to snack on trash will subside. What do you have to lose? Diabetes heart disease depression being the fat person in the room?
