Great job Chris, thank you for a I'm formative review, I have been staring at that head for a while and I think I'm going to pull the trigger thanx to you....ROCK ON BRUH 🔊🔊🔊🔊
Was a good review and useful for people interested in the DSL5 too. I really appreciate the mix of both clean and dirt channels in your review. So many reviews just go full metal and rhythm without showing how versatile these amps are. Cheers!
Thanks for a decent demo' . Also thanks for taking some time to show the clean sounds off this amp . Too many other demo's only interested in crunch . Many thanks .
Unfortunately, this video doesn't do the amp justice. This was done using only an SM57... where normally I would pair the SM57 with a condenser for a "true" sound, but my computer wasn't recognizing the condenser mic when I did this video... The amp sounds really good. I like the clean channel on single coils, and I like the OD channel with humbuckers... I think most people on the forums feel the same. Glad you liked those riffs, they were basically country riffs with a little pizzazz
Sounds great, Chris! Once I finally get a new roof on the house, I'll be looking for a nice tube amp and this will definitely be on the list of amps to check out. I was looking at the Haze, but I think I like the sound of this one better. Nice riffs at 7:10 and 10:45!
Nice demonstration of this new DSL15H Chris. Very informative. I already have that Marshall MG cabinet but never used it. I had the '65 Fender Twin reissue but hated lugging it around, way too heavy for a guy in his 50's :-) I was wondering how clean this head would stay, when it was turned up. I think this would work very well. The gain sounded pretty cool too. Oh, nice playing Chris, good job man. Thanks
NO EFFECTS LOOP DONT DISPAIR I found one that works really well with this amp the zoom ms50g works perfectly I can use it with my amp crancked and it does the job spot on I use it for its reverb sometimes delay ive tried dozens of pedals and this works try one out at you local store im totally wrapped that it works so well then you have a buttload of other patches to try
Beauty of a Les Paul. Maybe the Weber Beam Blockers might knock out the spikey highs. What model/watt rating speakers? Good demo. Oh, did I mention your sweet LP.
Too add, the treble is somewhat reedly/metallic so I have to back it up to 4...My gain channel is somewhere around 3-4... And I am running this on half-power.
Yes great demo thinking of getting this amp but like most people I find the red channel to fizzy, would like to see green channel more use and does pushing the volume with gain high break up better, or I'd like to hear a TS or any drive pedal on green channel. And do you still have amp. I've got a htm, so thinking of this as back up & smaller gigs & home use, cheerz
that's a very nice looking Gibby.. As far as the new DSL's gain channel, I find it too compressed that it tends to choke the notes playing legato... I have the combo version of this.
I know this amp has plenty of gain. Can this amp do Allman Brothers type tones? Almost every demo on this amp is high gain. Trying to decide between the dsl15h or a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue with some dirt pedals. Nice demo by the way. Thanks!
+shawn babson You should try to find a used Marshall Class 5. They're one of the loudest 5 watt amps you'll hear and they just have 1 volume and 3 tone knobs. They sound like a 70s classic rock marshall which would be more suited to what you're going for.
Did you change out the Gibson pickups for Seymor Duncans? Doesn't sound like classic Gibson pickups, sounded more metal like an active pickup. Great sound either way! Keep rocking.
You're good, did a good demo. You should reconsider the speaker outlook, however; took a long time to learn that they are as important as the amp- & I think the amp is the MOST important single element.
bluepaisley83! The closest think to Plexy I've ever played is Blackheart little giant! It is AWESOME little 5w amp head! After I changed the tubes to Mulard and JJ , it blew my sox off! I also have JMP50 from early 70's ! It's great, but when have to open it up the tube magic to work, is way too loud !
SideShow go for the Peavy 6505 mh. Had a normal headphone jack and a speaker defeat button. Don’t even need a cab with it. The Marshall dsl will need a special headphone adapter
Give Bugera a shot; most amps with headphone outs are necessarily(speaker needs to receive signal) not all tube,- many are hybrids.Bugera has specifically designed theirs to address this issue. Also, from personal experience, think your better off with one of Yamaha's tiny practice amps, just playing @ VERY low volume; they are very good for this.Headphones will only damage your hearing- and they utterly SUCK.They are nothing like the real thing .
I love the tone of this amp but there are 2 things that make it an unusable piece of shit: 1. No Effects Loop (wtf is marshall thinking???) 2. No Reverb
How about, equalisation is spelt with an S because it is an English word taken from the "English language" Americans find it quite hard to accept that their version of English is so stupid. FYI football is played with the feet and not the hands!
Wrong. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/equalize “American football” is played with hands and occasionally feet. “Soccer” is played with the feet. English people, sigh...
AHHH! You did something that so few do. You showed how a Marshall can get a really nice clean tone. Everybody skips that so a big thank you sir!
I realize Im quite off topic but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released movies online ?
@Dawson Thiago Flixportal
@Xander Keagan Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) Appreciate it !
@Dawson Thiago glad I could help =)
years later still one of the best reviews for this amp.
Absolutely one of the best reviews I have seen on UA-cam, but especially of the dozens regarding the DSL15. Really great! Thank you!
Thanks for no nonsense , straight forward review , very helpful .
Best review on DSL15H. Congratulations.

Really good review and demo.
I know this has been out there a while but this is a really good review. Fantastic playing and great coverage of the range of the amp.
The best review i've seen.!
Love this little amp. Though i cooled down the Gain Channel a bit with a ECC823 tube in V1 in mine (Combo)
Im scoring one of these for $225. In mint cond. Is that a good deal?
Thanks for the demo I've gotten one for a sweet price so I'll be getting a gain mod done on the red channel just so I can get some nice crunch going
Thanks for a decent demo' . Also thanks for taking some time to show the clean sounds off this amp . Too many other demo's only interested in crunch . Many thanks .
Great sound and playing !!!

Sounds awesome dude!!
Bro that's a beautiful guitar u got taste that's for sure
Good good video thanks for uploading.

Turned into a fizzy mess, i like my marshall darker. Great little amp. And i love how you made those pickups sound twangy!
You kinda look like the singer from Sunny Day Real Estate. great review btw

realy good review. And well played.
What Cabinett is that?

Chris, how do you manage the factura that the head do not have reverb neither FX Loop?
You don’t use them.

They are. Alnico Pro II Slash Signature Pups
Good review. Have you gigged with it?
Sounds Great!
Thanks, yea the cabinet doesn't really matter too much because I'm not playiing in a stadium ya know... just me chilling in my house playing guitar.
You're good, did a good demo. You should reconsider the speaker outlook, however; took a long time to learn that they are as important as the amp- & I think the amp is the MOST important single element.
So I have a Blackstar HT5 Metal head but it’s not giving me want I want… Marshall tones!
bluepaisley83!

it is good
so how loud exactly is this?
isnt that a 50th anniversity custom? kinda looks like it
it does matter, the speakers change your tone, and mg speakers suck
How loud can 15 watts get compared to a 40 watt fender amp?
The 40 watt Fender will be louder, of course. But the 15 watter is loud enough for any club gig.
MG 4x12
does it have a headphone jack? I can't play without one because I live in an apartment
SideShow go for the Peavy 6505 mh. Had a normal headphone jack and a speaker defeat button. Don’t even need a cab with it. The Marshall dsl will need a special headphone adapter

I'm from America, and this makes no sense to me. :)
Got mine for $314 new
Fake les paul isn't it? Sounds quite good...
Lol panama on a lp
I love the tone of this amp but there are 2 things that make it an unusable piece of shit:
1. No Effects Loop (wtf is marshall thinking???)
2. No Reverb
I mean jtm45 not htm
Please just play something.

GSUS HC Yet Americans have dumped the inefficient and unnecessary "u" from many words. You're welcome.
Wrong.
