When I switch to the tuner, there is a constant tapping noise coming from my amp. It's not my input and definitely the footswitch. Any ideas why? My amp is MG50GFX
Cool video...Thanks Nik....One question...Say you save a "PRE-SET" to Switch 1 and it's CLEAN. If I press switch 1 a second time, will it jump from CLEAN to CRUNCH?....Or does it stay the same?....Likewise if I store a PRE-SET to switch 2 as OD1.....If I press the Switch 2 a second time, will it go to OD2?..........OR if I want that OD1/OD2 switchability or CLEAN/CRUNCH switchability I have to specifically program them as switches? ...Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my question. I hope I made that clear and understandable...Cheers.
So it jumps from clean to crunch yes but I can’t figure out how to set a dirty/crunch/overdriven preset 1st? Every time I switch from red to another it goes back to green… HELP SWEETWATER WHAT DO I DO
@@Twiliite Yes, it is kind of confusing but you can only be in one of 2 places....Either CLEAN/CRUNCH.....OR.....OD1/OD2......They don't criss cross if that makes sense. It is easier to store one of each on the amp itself ....and THEN plug in the PEDL-9000 and set from there. Hope that helps.
@@Twiliite One last VERY important thing...The amp has 2 "Modes" when setting..."Manual" and PRESET....You toggle between them by holding down the TAP BUTTON for at least 2 Seconds...the lights will change you will see. THIS is very important, because if you are in the wrong "Mode" you will be confused, with or without the footswitch. ...Good Luck. You can download the manual for free and it will explain everything even better....Don't get discouraged. I struggled a bit with it in the beginning too. They kind of laid out this amps controls weird, ...but once you get used to it you will have no problem. If you have any other questions...ask away. I will try to help. Cheers.
@@Twiliite You can also use a simple 2 switch stereo TRS cable switch to toggle just between the Amp presets...You can't program separate functions, tuner, other presets like you can with the PEDL--90008....but you can flip between whatever you stored in the Clean/cruch, Od1/OD2 sections. Cheers. Good luck.
Why do so many people brag about being first or second to comment? The comment section isn’t reserved for bragging rights. It’s meant to be used to give criticism. But enough about my bitching. If I had any amps from the current MG series, I’d probably get this foot switch to match.
Does anyone know can you do any damage trying a foot switch that may not be the recommended one, ie I have a jmd 6 pedal sw and would like to try it on my dsl 40c .tia
Hi Ben, great question. It doesn’t look like there is a way to do a factory reset on that pedal - you will have to manually overwrite it back to the original settings by holding the Store switch and then holding down your chosen footswitch. Thanks! Jason Filloramo, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1281, Jason_Filloramo@sweetwater.com
@sweetwater If you plug a Boss Loop Station into the back of the amp in the Effects Loop, do you have to have it set to a certain channel to use the loop station? Or since its plugged into the back will it work on all channels? Thanks!
Hi, Klassen223. The effects loop on most amps is global so anything in the loop would be accessible regardless of what channel you’re on. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
@@sweetwater Hi Charlie, thanks so much for the reply! That's what I thought but just wanted to check. I did have one more question if I may about the footswitch presets.... Let's say I set the third switch to the digital effects... when I hit that switch will it go to which ever effect the knob is pointed to on the amp? For example, if I save the effects preset on switch 3 and it is set to chorus at that time, will it always be chorus when I hit the pedal? Or if I switch it to flange on the knob of the amp and hit the switch will it go to flange? To simplify, if I set the switch to the digital effects will it play what ever effect the knob on the amp is pointed at? Or does it save the one specific effect its on when creating the preset. I hope this makes sense! Thanks again!
@@Klassen223 I believe if you have the pedal in Switch Mode and set one of the switches to just turn the effects on and off, it will be whatever you currently have the effect control set to. @Sweetwater Nevermind I watched the video a few more times and got it now! to create a preset you hold the store button then the pedal you want it to go to, and for switch mode same thing but hold the channel button instead of store. One last question (I know I keep saying that lol) what is the difference between the FX Button and the External FX Button? I assume the FX Button if for he built in effects (chorus, flange etc.) if that is the case what does the External FX do? Thanks!
Just one quick question. Is the external loop before or after the built in effects? I am asking this because I do not know if by putting a noise gate in the loop I would be cutting the repeats of the built in delay.
