Great Catch wrestling stuff. Martin "Farmer" Burns was especially savvy with this lock. Thank again so much for bringing them back to life.

I have a feeling this will work swimmingly in BJJ with a gi, since people are more concerned about protecting their neck than preventing their wrist from being grabbed.

Victor Mace this is more of a shoulder lock than crank.

from a mostly wrestling background and been doing bjj for a couple months now and heres a little trick form my sport to yours, if a guy locks his wrist in like they begin to show at about 7:08 you can pretty easily and safely get the wrist out if you want to force the hammerlock by applying your weight to his upper arm and scissor stepping over. it forces you to come off the hips a little but not to many guys are gonna get away from you with their shoulder stuck into the mat under your body weight

Awesome. It shows that there was some advanced technique and sophistication to this kind of stuff. Personally I like diving for the Side Choke right there.

England is the home of catch wrestling. I'm not sure if there is any good instructors in London though, it's a northern English style based mainly around Wigan in particular and Lancashire in general. Roy Wood, would be the man to seek out in England. Tommy Heyes or Jack Mountford are living legends, Vic Jones is keeping it going for this generation.
