Neil Melanson needs to put out a Turtle Guard DVD. I'M BEGGING FOR IT!!!!!!
Eduardo Telles Turtle Guard DVD covers these 2 techniques and more.
At 1:04, I heard a slight cracking noise with the onset of that Kimura. OSS.
Billy Robinson has a great DVD on the Double Wrist Lock alone, where he hits the DWL pretty much from every position, and explain every little angle and nuances. It's an old video, but definitely still as valid as ever. DWL is super versatile, timeless technique.
Hey man do you know where i could find it?
Terminologies of Bent Arm Lock.
Catch Wrestling: Double Wrist Lock/ Chicken Wing
BJJ: Kimura Lock
Judo: Gyaku Ude- Garami

this is great. thank you
Both Karl Gotch and Billy Robinson used and taught the double wristlock. Judo Gene Le Bell learned it from Karl Gotch.
Although Gene LeBell did train with Karl Gotch, LeBell started Catch Wrestling at a very young age, way before he learned from Gotch. LeBell learned from guys like Ed Lewis, Lou Thesz and Vic Christy. His mother was a Pro Wrestling promoter and he was essentially raised in the gym with Pro Wrestlers.
Theodore Wurz
Very true. I lived not too far from that gym. My Uncle Boxed @ that gym and mentioned to me that a Lady owned the gym. I knew who Gene was, but it was'nt till I picked up a magazine and there was an article on Gene and it mentioned the Gym. Its now been a long time since the Gym closed down. Side note: My Judo Teacher Hayward Nishioka, who is a long time friend of Gene once told me in a conversation. That Gene was incredibly tough to roll with. Same was mentioned by other old school Black belts. Thanks for sharring info.
Really nice
Does Neil Melanson have a DVD with catch wrestling moves?!?!? It would be great if he does!
