Listening to records. I don’t do it often enough. I find that getting up every 15 or 20 minutes to flip the record over and then listening is kind of a meditative process.
I went from making $150k per year to being homeless, and now I am trying to pick up the pieces of a completely destroyed life. Whenever I take a few days to relax, I am consumed with guilt about it.
Same here mate. Sleeping teleports me to the next day, which is work. I know I need it (sleep), but want to overcompensate the hours at work so I don't act like a robot, working eating sleeping. I end up sleeping 7hrs tops, usually something like 6. It's a freaking loop.
Thank you so much! This is one of my main topics during therapy. While watching I asked myself a lot of questions like: But what do I do when I relax? Just sit around and stare at a wall? And you answered all of these anxiety ridden questions during the video. Your words really respond with me emotionally. So glad I found your account!
I just switched careers and started working for myself this year. I often don't feel like I deserve to relax until I can financially support myself with this new job. Right now, I am working a part time job and have support from my partner and family, but I still feel guilty like I'm taking advantage them if I'm not working towards financial independence 24/7.
This is what I needed to hear my goodness sometimes it’s hard for me to sit still even on my day off & I do try my best to go & not do too much responsibilities thank you so much
I only know how to be productive, so sitting down or seeing friends causes me massive guilt. I’m not giving my husband enough attention (he says it’s fine, as he can see how hard I’m working). I end up working late into the evening to make up any time I have off. I have no boundaries, no matter how many times I tell myself that I’m only going to work x hours, i just have to clear the work in front of me, so i keep going. It doesn’t make me happy (completing the work) I just feel relieved and wait for the next tsunami of work to hit me. I feel on edge when I sit down, and usually end up tidying up. I feel I must do something all the time so I don’t waste time. I’m considering retiring, and could probably afford to do so, but I worry about who I will be without work.

Not weird! It can bring up discomfort to take steps to start working on yourself and making changes because oftentimes we tend to avoid these things- that anxiety in this situation can be a good sign!
What helps you relax?
Knowing i did all the things that needs to be done. If i dont do my Training, Work or other things i think i dont deserve relaxing. I need 2 earn it.

Yoga and practicing mindfully relaxing my muscles…deep breaths…speaking to myself, saying it’s ok to relax…
