They found and rented a black church being renovated and asked for volunteers to sing. Most of the members were happy to help. Foreigner paid to finish the repairs
So right, Krizz. We SHOULD be able to mention differences without having to qualify them first. We are one race, but we come from different places. I have attended different 'white' churches and enjoyed aspects of all. I have attended 'black' churches and enjoyed aspects of all. You are spot on about the choir. 2 things I really enjoyed in black churches, the choir/music, and a 'fired-up' preacher. You can't help but tap your foot, raise your hand, and say "Amen". Viva la difference!!! Embrace it and learn from it. I'm a 67yo, 'country boy', white man and, right now, one of my best friends is a 70+yo, inner-city, black man. I'm a 1 hitch USAF vet, he's a 30-year career USN vet. We CAN all get along, if we want to. (Though, between AF and Navy, it's tough. lol)
I had the privilege to see Foreigner in concert in Biloxi, MS in 1985. It was AMAZING!! All the its, full local choir to help with this song. It was great!!
Since "Trigger" was already taken, Mick Jones suggested "Foreigner." The name reflected the band's international makeup: Mick Jones, Ian McDonald, and Dennis Elliott were English, while Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood, and Ed Gagliardi were American. Thus, in any country, three members would always be foreigners.Jul 11, 2024
Lou Grammis the singer, he is from my hometown. He is a really down to earth guy. You'll see him around town at a car show, or even sit next to him at a local restaurant. He just retired from touring. And Foreigner was just inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
I saw Foreigner in Noblesville, IN in 1993, I had excellent seats in the 2nd row to the stage and it's one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Loved it and I love foreigner.
You have to watch the happiest multiculturally fulfilling experience that is Peter Gabriel doing "In Your Eyes" Live from the Secret World concert. Pure JOY!
I’m an old girl from Canada, been watching you for a while now.Love what you said on here, just love you and your family!.Wishing you well and GOD bless you my black Brother stay safe.❤
You brought up the sound of certain soul. I use to stay with family in Louisiana and they went to a more prominent black church, forgot what you call it, but they were on their feet, clapping, and getting into it. It’s definitely a different sound that really is special. I was a bit more shy then but I’ll never forget it. Love choir in the mix.
As a white guy born in Southern Virginia in 1965 and a Baptist religious ( I know you're not saved by religion but by faith) as a kid in the 1970s I attended a black Baptist church, the black choir and the black family attendance in the Baptist Church felt different like they put their hearts and souls into it, it hard to explain but because you can feel the energy in the Church and I just love the energy
Video making was so eclectic in the early days of MTV (08-01-81). Since there was no prior vision or guidelines, it allowed artists to show their faces to the fans who had never bought a ticket, their showmanship on stage, or wild creativity.
Lou Gramm, the lead vocalist departed from the band in 1990 but returned in 1992 and continued with them for another 10+ years. For me the band was never the same w/out him. Had the amazing fortune to see Foreigner headline in 1994 @ The PNC in Jersey, along with STYX, REO Speedwagon and Peter Frampton. Yes, all in one show! To say it was awesome is an understatement. Would luv to hear more Foreigner reactions as well as maybe Frampton & REO. 👍
This song was already dripping with soul. Then they got the NJ Mass Choir... Btw that handshake in the 80s was just the "hip" thing to do - had nothing to do with gangs back then.
You should react to Foreigner's song hot blooded. This was one that my little sister kiked when we were kids, its good. Also ive been wanting to ask you this for weeks because I KNOW you read the comments. A while ago i suddenly saw this subscription plus thing on Black Pegasus's channel and then I started seeing it on yours. What is it. I haven't heard anyone mention that unless it slipped by me. Things just appear one day and nobody talks about it.
I think most of us watching your reaction feel the same way about various cultures coming together to create incredible music. There is only one race…the human race, as you stated. Loved this reaction.
This song broke up the group and even today there are hurt feelings. As they were recording it they had multiple studios in the building with certain members working on different parts in different studios. They had always shared song writing credits even with the singer to various extents because he would bring it to life with inflections and creative passion in certain parts. etc. Song writing credits are not just about money but also it is about acknowledgment for their contribution. It is true there was one person who was responsible for the majority of it but the lead singer always got a cut. On this song the main writer about cut the singer all the way out of it which was a huge slap in the face. There is no foreigner group without the this lead singer. It would be like the Supremes without Diana Ross.
🎵innnnn myyyy lifffeeee 😂😂 banger man!! i swear to god i was just jamming to this song and searched this on YT and you just posted the vid today hell yeah couple classic recs for reactions: The Outfield - Your Love Don Henley - The Boys of Summer
The biggest difference between choirs is the type of choir being used. You have the choirs that celebrate and sing from the soul and you have the choirs that pay more attention to pitch and the notes. Professional choirs are more about the notes and pitch. It's more about following the actual written music than it is about substance. I belonged to more than one of the first choirs in my lifetime.
Lou Gramm is a great vocalist ! NUMBER 1 song for 3 weeks in 1985 and the number 4 song for the entire yr .1 careless whisper 2 like a virgin 3 wake me up before you go go 5 easy lover..
OMG, Krizz small world, Here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, our "Classic Rock Radio Station(FM)" Classic Rock Q104 (1983 to Present)! Great Reaction Video, Used to "Slow-Dance " with my girlfriend back in the day.TO This Great song! 😀👌👍✌
***ENDLESS LOVE***, ***LADY***, ***SAY YOU, SAY ME***, ***WE ARE THE WORLD*** Lionel Richie and We Are The World has everybody that was anybody in the 1980s singing.
Let it fade out all the way please. Old music many times contains a part that people look forward to. Just a tip bro to keep us old folks happy. Lol. Great reaction!
Fun Fact: Mick Jones, an English musician, songwriter and record producer, best known as the founder, leader and guitarist of the British-American rock band Foreigner, is also the father of …. Mark Ronson.
Another of my favorites that includes a gospel choir is U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." I'll link it in case you want to check it out. 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/M8Wt3dhF4fU/v-deo.htmlsi=NywRfDj5fgIef8iu
This one of the best Foreigner. You will enjoy this song. Well I grew up on this music. Lou Gramm and then Kelly Hanson. You need to listen to today's country music. It all cultures together.
Hardy's "Wait in the Truck" has a beautiful gospel choir singing at the end of the song. Also a very deep song to react to. Must do the official video.
The last video I can remember with random slow-motion running was Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge" 😆 You highlighted the black choir -- might I recommend Paul Simon's "Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes," featuring the South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo? Because I think you would really, really dig it.
what ive heard when they started the band made up of brits and americans as they sat around trying to think of a name someone said doesn't matter if we are in the us or uk at least half of us are going to be foreigners .bam that's the name
There should be an album..."Closer To The Classics" with remakes and remixes by current artists. Isn't that your thing? Make it happen. Get that old fan base clicking likes while they are still alive and grow a whole new group of fans for the music. You better do it before Dre does. Don't think I ain't making suggestions elsewhere. Somebody ought to put Grandma on the payroll as an Expert Consultant. Just kiddin', I ain't trying to ever work for anybody ever again, that would cut into my youtube time. :)
They found and rented a black church being renovated and asked for volunteers to sing. Most of the members were happy to help. Foreigner paid to finish the repairs
Foreigner was just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
amazing
Nothing says 80s like Foreigner. You couldn’t listen to the radio without this coming on. Love it!
Just a beautifully written and produced song. Foreigner has so many great songs. Lou Gramm's vocal chops are incredible.
Juke Box Hero is one of my favorites because its basically a story of not giving up on your dreams!
You are 100% right that we are all one race , the human race!!!!!!!
His voice was always such a blessing to the ear imo 🕊 and don't we all wanna know where love is ? Fr

They were huge arena rock venues!
If you love saxophone, you need to listen to
"Urgent". One of my all time favorite bangers.
He sings Midnight Blue as a solo act.
Foreigner finally got in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. Lou Gramm is legend.
Took wayyyy too long to put them in.
Lou retired from touring too, unfortunately.
I had the privilege to see Foreigner in concert in Biloxi, MS in 1985. It was AMAZING!! All the its, full local choir to help with this song. It was great!!
Totally agree with everything you said Krizz, especially when needing more choir. Those harmonies just get you in your feels.
Very good concert band 70's 80's.
Since "Trigger" was already taken, Mick Jones suggested "Foreigner." Foreigner was my first concert when I was sweet 16 ❤
Lou Grammis the singer, he is from my hometown. He is a really down to earth guy. You'll see him around town at a car show, or even sit next to him at a local restaurant. He just retired from touring. And Foreigner was just inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
Made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2024!
Lou Gramm - Original Lead Singer. 🎆

People in this choir are so happy and beautifull. Such a good feel song. Hats off to black choir. Love ya all. White guy❤❤
It’s lovely that when they go on tour the have local school choirs perform with them on this song
I saw Foreigner in Noblesville, IN in 1993, I had excellent seats in the 2nd row to the stage and it's one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Loved it and I love foreigner.
Now i want to know why theres a " gang handshake" in the video. Lol. Foreigner is just another legendary band in the " golden era " of music.
You have to watch the happiest multiculturally fulfilling experience that is Peter Gabriel doing "In Your Eyes" Live from the Secret World concert. Pure JOY!
🎉** A Resounding YES!!!!**🎉 💯💯
Lou Gramm......exceptional voice!!🎵🎼🎶🔥🔥🔥
I’m an old girl from Canada, been watching you for a while now.Love what you said on here, just love you and your family!.Wishing you well and GOD bless you my black Brother stay safe.❤
Krizz, Thank you! This song digs into my emotions in a good way! Peace.
Foreigner is so very awesome. Love this song. It is so iconic. Love your reaction!
Music is and will always be the universal language.
You brought up the sound of certain soul. Lou Gramm is from Rochester, NY. He's still here and loved!

My God, that voice!!
May very well be my most favorite male voice. Mr Lou Graham. ❤ 🎤
theres been a cpl singers but lou gramm was the primary for a long time great voice
The sound track of our life. I sang this song walking home from school grade 8 or 9.
I think most of us watching your reaction feel the same way about various cultures coming together to create incredible music. There is only one race…the human race, as you stated. Loved this reaction.
Finally!!!! TRUTH. Inner city black choir sound is one of the closest sounds of heaven on earth!!
Love your insight and talent

You should react to 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' from Foreigner (sung by Lou Gramm, the guy who you just watched!)
In this version, Lou Gramm is the lead singer, the original lead singer
I saw Foreigner in Omaha NE in the early 80’s. Great concert.
November 1, 1980
More great music from Foreigner!!❤❤
Just saw then in concert just a few months ago
When we saw Lou Gramm as a solo act for his album in the late eighties, he sang this song, and a choir came out to perform as well!
Loved this. Thanks for sharing this ❤

Same here, I adore Choirs in pop music, theres just not enough.
Same band that did Dirty White Boy
Lou Graham is the lead singer of Foreigner. When are you gonna do some Queen and Sweet? Just asking ❤
Lead singer here is Lou Graham. They just retired and did their last tour wrap up in November 2024, Kelly Hansen was their last lead singer.
We have Q-105 here in Fla, where I live.
Scott Shannon and Cleveland Wheeler were the originators of the Q Zoo in the Morning.
A classic choice Krizz.
Another of my favorites that includes a gospel choir is U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." I'll link it in case you want to check it out. 🙂

During there shows they invite a local choir to perform with them every show.
