"Rod Stewart, the rock and roll legend, has faced several health challenges over the years, including thyroid cancer, prostate cancer, strep throat, and COVID-19. " Please don't forget to pray for him. His struggles have been great.
I danced to this with my son at his wedding. He will always be young in my mind. He's 41 now.😢❤ He is still touring infact he's coming to Boston this summer.
My name is Donna too =) And outside of Boston in Massachusetts in a town called Webster. Ive always wanted to see Rod in concert. Ill have to look it up and see how much the tickets are. Thanks for the info =)
@hellonheels91069 Hi! I'm in Wareham first town in the Cape. He's coming to the stadium. I'm sure it's online. I've seen him twice in the 90's. So good! Nice to meet you.
@@donnagonatas3155 I did look it up it's Mansfield Mass the infinity center. Second row is almost $1,000 lol. Summer over $200 Summerville $400 the further back you go.
@@hellonheels91069I always loved Rid Stewart but never got to see him in concert until on my 50th birthday! He came to Columbia SC and my husband surprised me! ❤❤ There were people in their teens and 80s and all ages in between! It was wonderful! That was 27 years ago so Rods up in age but still performing, but without the dancing he did when he was younger, but still sounds good! ❤❤❤
This is one of few artists that when his music comes on the radio I crank it up. It doesn’t matter if it’s a fast song or a slow song I crank it up. Rod Stewart could sing anything.
Rod Stewart is notable for making Fiddler’s Green venue in Colorado build a barrier wall. The neighbors were complaining of the noise from concerts there , he came out on stage and asked if we wanted to help him piss off the neighborhood? It was a fantastic concert
Yes! Rod is still performing! I have tickets for his show this July!! He says this is his last world tour but he will continue to play music. The message on this song is that your children will always be their Mom and Dad's children no matter their age! Forever young!
My mother is 94. Smokes like a freight train, hadn’t drank water in 40 years and does NOT eat anything good. EVER. She is well preserved. Still rides a bike and drives everyone crazy. Only the good die young.
Love Rod Stewart's 1970s music with The Faces and also with Jeff Beck. Bob Dylan wrote a song called Forever Young, and Rod had to share royalties with him because this song was so similar to his.
LOVE Rod! I’ve seen him in concert a couple of times - he always puts on a great show. This song I love. When I was pregnant with my son this used to always play on the radio. It made me so excited to meet my son soon.
Songs like this stir your heart, and are timeless no matter when written or sung. This song is a reflections of time for him, who is telling the story. "Forever young" is an expression that conveys the desire to stay young and full of energy, even as time passes. It can also refer to the longing to preserve youth and the optimism that is often associated with it
Rod Stewart songs Infatuation take me back to the beginning of MTV and Maggie takes me back to my mom singing to me in her 75 chevy Nova as a baby in the 70s.. ❤
Another great message song is the band Mike + The Mechanics' massive hit "The Living Years". Check it out! It always reminds me to pick up the phone and call my dad.
You are so right and I totally agree that music keeps you young and helps you get through the dark and difficult times! Idk where I would be if it weren’t for all the fabulous music: sad, glad, happy, heartfelt, heart wrenching, rock, blues, R&B, rap, disco, jazz, funk, hip hop; it’s all good and there is something for everyone!
I used to play this for my son when he was about the same age as Rod Stewart's son is in the video, I believe the message is he'll support his son no matter what road he goes down no matter what he chooses to do in life and who he chooses to do it with and in Rod's heart his son will remain Forever Young ,and I feel the exact same way when I think about my son when I used to play this for him. I think I will dance with my son to this at his wedding!!
I’ve always loved this song and felt like he was saying be a good person no matter if you’re rich or poor, do the right thing and I will be proud of you and you will always seem young because of your good attitude and actions! You will never age in my mind, you will stay the young innocent sweet child in my mind as long as you grow up and are a good person doing the right thing in every situation. You will be forever young in my mind if you live your life right. ❤
Ponce De Leon the Spanish explorer supposedly found Florida when native American's told him that the fountain of youth was located in Bimini an island of the coast of Florida just west of Miami. The fountain of youth is a legend that has been passed down through the years and through cultures. Sometimes the greatest changes to the world are found because the greed to find a myth leads people places they never knew existed.
❤ this is my favorite song of his, reminds me of my kids. Check out a song by Mark Harris called “find your wings“ that one I always tag my daughter when I posted online.
Rod Stewart goes back way before the 80s. He was in The Jeff Beck Group in the 60s with Ronnie Wood. He and Wood were together again in the Faces during the 70s, which became Rod Stewart and the Faces before Rod left for his solo career.
Ronnie Wood left first when he joined the Stones. In an interview Rod said that he asked Mick Jagger (paraphrasing), "you're not going to steal Ronnie from me, are you?"
This reminds me of a verse bring a child up in the way it should go so when its older it shall not depart. Krizz to me don't you look at the young kids as always children in you're hearts eye when you're their elder and you want to give them the best of lifes advice? I've known many from child to adult but they remain forever young to me just saying that's the feel I always got from Rods song here. I also remember hearing ir reading somewhere that Rod Stewart was Dolly Parsons fav.singing voice as well. Merry Christmas to you & your loved ones 🙏 😊
Krizz, I heard an interview with Rod, when asked about his raspy singing and accent, that he said in the 1960's most of the U.K. singers were enthralled by the black R&B guys from America (I suppose Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett and others) and so they all tried to sing "like they were black". I'm not sure how successful he was at "sounding black", but he did develop a distinctive and soulful rasp and had a bushelful of platinum records with it.
If you're looking for another powerful message from a father to his son, check out "With Arms Wide Open" by Creed. While you're at it, you should also check out "My Own Prison", "My Sacrifice", "One Last Breath", and "Don't Stop Dancing"... you'll be glad you did.
Rod Stewart was my Memaw's favorite. When he did that song with Asap Rocky (It's fantastic), I cried and rejoiced. The carpool karaoke was awesome! He still creates music, and will always be a legend!
Rod Stewart is amazing. Saw him in person once in the 90s. He has beautiful skin, great hair. Yes he performs on special occasions and in his later years, returned to vintage crooner and big band hits of the 40s & 50s. Please react to his trio song, All For One, recorded with Bryan Adams and Sting for the movie soundtrack for Three Musketeers. Their voices together are stunning. 🎄MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄
Sir Rod Stewart was Knighted by the Queen in 2016. I absolutely love the fact that they do this to many of the UK musicians and Stars that they are honored in this manner Shows hella respect and gives them credit as role models to uphold and live up too. Bravo 👏
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my first son many years ago, and nothing is worse. Please know that they are up there watching over us, and that a parent's love knows no boundaries. And is the strongest thing to ever exist. ❤❤❤❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹
It's a prayer for his son, believing the best for his life and that no matter how old his son gets, to his father, he will be forever young. And as a dad of 4 and now grandad of 7, that rings truer than ever.
The reason Brits sing with an American accent is because they were emulating the American sound of rock and blues. Similarly, a lot of American punk bands tend to sound British when they sing because even though punk originated in the US, it exploded in London and that is where most of the early popular punk bands were from. The same thing happens today with international rappers and hip hop artists trying to sound American. To me, hearing someone with a heavy British accent rap still sounds funny. 😂 Basically, the accent is a big part of the genre of music. It's hard to take someone singing a country song serious if they don't sound country.
Since you commented about the people who want to be forever young by any means necessary. It is better to do so again with Forever Young by Alphaville. That one is exactly about that can of worms. Rod Stewards Forever young one is more of the psycologically kind, so about how parents feel about their children.
I will give you advice from an old lady, you ready? We're all going to die, there is nothing you can do about it, and once you get to a certain age the only accomplishment is getting there. Quality is gone. So eat what you want, if you want to smoke do it. If you want to drink do it. Do what you enjoy and will make you happy, just don't do it to the excess that makes others unhappy. Oh and Rod was more than a big star in the 80's.
@carolynsilkett it’s not a cover. The music and lyrics are different, but the structure was similar enough that Rod sent it to Bob Dylan for approval. They agreed to share writing credits and royalties. Peter, Paul, and Mary are covering Dylan, as they often did. Love them❤️

For sure!!
As a mama, I cry every time I hear this and thinking of my adult children as babies.

Rod was giving advice to his son and teaching him how to live a good life. He is saying his child will stay forever young in his mind/heart.
When I first heard this song as a kid, I appreciated it, but it just hits differently as the years pass, especially as a parent. Words to live by.
so true!!

One of my all time favorite rod stewart songs is rhythm of my heart.

Still rides a bike and drives everyone crazy. Only the good die young.
Favorite Rod Stewart song. It's a song for a parent to sing to their child.
I'm here for everything, Rod Stewart!! Music from the 70s and 80s just hit different! Merry Christmas to u and yours! ❤
Coming to Pittsburgh soon with Billy Joel 🔥🔥 I’ve seen him live 3x’s, never disappoints. This song, in particular, chokes me up every single time ❤

Love Rod Stewart's 1970s music with The Faces and also with Jeff Beck. Bob Dylan wrote a song called Forever Young, and Rod had to share royalties with him because this song was so similar to his.
He played soccer into his 50s , and Ron Wood played guitar on a lot of Rod's tunes
Rod Stewart goes back to the group Small Faces in the late 60s I believe and had several hits in the 70s as well.
Have loved this man forever !!

I'm a huge Rod fan! The 80s & the 90s just would not have been the same without his contributions.

Rod Stewart was around and had big hits in the early 70’s through the 80’s.
Love Rod Stewart! A little note, the small boy in this video with Rod is Alex Zukerman. A grown actor now that has played in many things.

I'm sixty years old and music keeps me forever young! That's why I still have a sport bike and can still ride it after a Major crash back in 2015.
Check out Rod’s Great American Songbook albums. It’s older classic songs and some duets.

Great song. That's not Rods kid in the video though

This is Bob Dylan's song that he wrote for his son. When Rod Stuart recorded this without permission, Dylan SUED him and won.
