Giant Wood Moths are actually kinda cute, but scare the hell out of you when they decide to start flying at the light coming through your kitchen window.

Your choices are Wood Moth, Native Bat, Huntsman Spider or some unidentified native animal that probably wants to k*ll you, because, apparently, everything wants to do that down here.
Also, Possums sound like hissing wraiths in the middle of the night and koalas sound like motorboats trying to start up.

Moths bigger than 4" are unsettling af. Though, singing Moths by Drown in Sulphur as I blow em away with a fan on high, sure helps.
As someone who has been to florida I can say with confidence that florida is great as long as you avoid the people and are not afraid of reptiles or fire ants.
You could say the same thing about Texas.

Pretty much a dude liked to use scissors (it was originally scissors, not knife) to chop up poop that was too big to get out
