Hi guys! I really like how this DIY came out and I hope you did too. Just a reminder, this technique works on different materials as long as you use the correct primer. Thank you for watching and for the support! 🖤
Good evening Chelsea! Oh, my goodness, what a beautiful transformation! No one would know these nightstands were previously painted blue! Fantastic job! Be proud of yourself! I’m proud of you! Looking forward to seeing them styled! Thank you for sharing! 💕
I stripped the lid that goes on a bench that semi matches a night stand & just stripping the top part of it was a mess & so time consuming. I haven't stripped the bench yet & after watching your video I prob won't strip the rest of the bench. I've already decided on new hardware. I have also bought a night stand that I think someone was trying to match w/the bench but it really doesn't match. They tried to make it look antiqued & it looks awful. I got them from an antique shop & I'm going to try doing what you just did. I think it'll save me alot of time. Your night stands look great. I'm hoping to find colors similar to yours. Thanks for this video, your nightstands are beautiful.
They look amazing, you did great! I've watched A couple people do this technique and it really does look like wood. I think its a really great technique to use. Enjoyed watching the process😊
Really great job on the side tables. I want to do thing like that but for some reason (hubby) I get paralyze when I even think about it. I know I can do it and I will try to do it in the future. You encourage me that it can be done and I thank you for that. Love your videos and thank you for being so calm because I have ADHD and my mind goes everywhere with to much music and a loud voiceS. Have a great Easter.
Those turned out great. I have seen that kind of finish. But not lately. And I love it. You did a great job. I’m not sure if you cat was curious or didn’t like the smell. I saw it in the background. 😊
Thank you! I think a lot of techniques are really coming back around. Lol my cats LOVE to investigate projects and they also love the kitchen for all the sun it gets so they were around a lot. 😺😺
Before, they were statement pieces. But that gets “heavy” in a room very quickly. It becomes tiring for your eyes…. Now, you’ve got really useful, non-dominant, well designed matching pieces of daily use furniture. Great decisions and super skills are evident!
Hi Chelsea….long time…no comment from me (Sue UK)… have been following most of your videos, but not said anything.Your great ‘ Good Taste’ has always impressed me…but this process on the side tables, was something I wasn’t sure would work???….But… should have known that you would ‘smash the challenge👍😃…. very uninteresting pieces(I thought)… and the various steps were lengthy and experimental…for you…HOWEVER…. What a lovely result!!!!….quite amazing👍👍…. You must be so pleased, Chelsea…Brilliant result, and so worth the effort…Two very handsome bedroom bedside cabinets… which are transformed👏👏….for quite low cost (most important 😃…Well done You !!…Continue with these thoughtful and interesting videos…much appreciated by ME…Cheers from Sue (uK)…Cannot understand why the price of these items are high priced…so that you had to compromise, to get the ‘Look’ you really desired…Anyway You DiD IT !!!….
Hi Sue! Hope you are doing well! I certainly wasn’t sure about this process, but it did end up a pleasant surprise. It is shocking how much pieces like this are, especially if you are buying one for each side of the bed lol. Thank you for the kind words! 🖤🖤
They came out great! I've been looking for a similar piece of furniture to do a faux wood paint technique as well. Do you think it would work to try a dark brown wood color? My piano, in the same room, is dark brown/reddish and I'd like the two pieces to coordinate if possible. I'm also keeping my eye out for a piece that is already the correct color of course!
Thank you! I think the tricky part would be finding a glaze that is a good match for the piano. You may also have to do a deeper tan layer of base paint so it doesn’t look too light in comparison to such a dark stain.

Nice job! It’s such a fun technique, isn’t it? And great to disguise those pieces that have a lot of dings and scratches.
What a transformation!
They look amazing, you did great! I've watched A couple people do this technique and it really does look like wood. I think its a really great technique to use. Enjoyed watching the process😊

Your taste is excellent! Lovely design . And you’re brave to try the wood grain look. I think I better subscribe to you because I’m just learning.
Hi Chelsea 💓 such a beautiful outcome they look so good such a long process but so worth it thanks for sharing always Laura 💕
Thanks so much! If it weren’t for those small wood details on the front, it would have been quicker for sure. But, worth it in the end for sure! Xoxo
It had turned out great! You have really good taste, especially with how you style everything together ❤❤❤
Oh Chels😮
Girl you totally nailed it! They would sell in the stores for hundred$$$ LOVE them xo
Beautiful ❤
Thank you!

Your after looks so authentic that I thought it was the “before” on your thumbnail! Well done!
Oh, thank you so much for the kind words!

These look incredible! If I would like my piece to be darker, should I just do a few more coats? Or start with a darker paint color underneath?

Chels,
The furniture finish is beautiful. Did you use any liquid thinner when taking off the excess brown glazing finish? Great job!
Thank you so much! I did not use any thinner, just a dry chip brush that I kept wiping off between swipes ☺️
