I have to admit that I was previously involved with a “True Name” group for seven years and I became a full blown linguistically challenged but hyper pharisaical judge of all mankind. It almost completely destroyed my life and family relationships and even my well paying job that I loved and led to my almost homeless state of being. Needless to say that I was completely deceived and super self righteous, but thankfully the Lord Jesus Christ is a very merciful and gracious Lord and saviour. Hallelujah I am so grateful to see this beautiful teaching on the Hebrew grammar and correct spelling of our Lord and Saviour’s name in the Hebrew language. I think that may be largely true. Our ministry is not Hebrew Roots; however, we do have some constituents that use “Yahshua” and the like. I believe these people are well-intentioned but simply misinformed. So we produced this video (and the full episode) in order to educate and correct the error.
There is always a temptation for a kind of gnostic rush in thinking you're recovering lost information and the 'real story'. This appeals to human pride.
Interesting... I made a video why it IS pronounced Yahshua, but in saying that all three forms appear in the archeological record and in Scripture Yahushua/Yehoshua (יהושוע), Yahshua (יהשוע), Y'shua (ישוע). The extremele abbreviated version was common at the time of the Messiah, but I still prefer the full spelling with the Trigrammaton included. Interestingly, you mentioned that the name Yehoshua only appears twice in the TaNaKh, yet that is if you lean on the Masoretic Text. There are a further six (so far) in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Masoretes also had a habit of removing the Divine Name יהוה from the Texts and there are over 120 instances proven from the DSS again where the Tetragrammaton has been substituted with Elohim or Adonai.

What it means to come in someone's name. It means you're coming to represent the one sending you. Example: A soldier comes knocking on someone's door because the King had sent them to give them a message ...Their knocking on the door, yelling...."Open up, I have come in the name of the King".
"Yeshua" simply means "deliverance." Correct me if I'm wrong. "Yehoshua" points to the one for deliverance. "Yah" is Deliverer. Is this not correct? Yehoshua was always about His Father's work, was He not? The Father, through the Ruach HaChodesh, delivers. The Son points to the Father. The Father points you right back to the Son, via the Torah. Is this not correct?

Yes, "Yahushua" means Yah delivers. the Strong's number in Matthew 1:21 is from G2424 which Strong's says comes from H3091 "Yehoshua" The same name Joshua son of Nun is called. The name Yeshua is actually a contraction that shows up later in the OT H3442, 1Chr 24:11 for example. H3091 has two spellings, יהושע and יהושוע. The latter only used once in the Hebrew OT (Tanach). This one, however has a special meaning. Since the Shin (ש) is used by sages as THE letter that means Torah, the Torah is betseen two Vavs or nails.
There was a man that learned & spoke different asian languages for a UA-cam channel (he ate a lot of pork chinese food) & I kept hearing ‘yeshua’ in what he was saying - I was recently reborn & looked it up, behold it was YESHUA! It goes to show, The Lord can use anyone & anything to lead His people to Him! - Later I found out in torah that people should not eat unclean things, like pork & Yeshua never declared ‘all foods clean’ - just food eaten with unwashed hands in a hand washing ceremony. - Deuteronomy 14:21 said ‘don’t cook a calf in it’s own mother’s milk’ & almost all cheese making facilities use calf rennet to make their cheese (it’s literally cooking a baby cow in it’s mother’s milk). But due to the mandela effect, it now says ‘don’t cook a baby goat in it’s own mother’s milk.’ The moral of the meaning, don’t make death in something used to create life - especially when cooking a kosher mammal (this is a problem when celebrating Shavuot)!

The fella in this vid even ended the vid with saying the Messiah's name is Yeshua. I have felt the divine presence of the Father and heard His voice! He said - Was the death of My Son not enough for you? I did some explaining. I have seen Jesus and heard His voice and felt His love. He tells me He loves me. The Holy Spirit spoke through me to someone else. He said - Jesus is Lord. When you hear the voice of the Father... you KNOW it's the Father.

@@perfectwordTV My "subjective experience" is that the God of Israel isn't concerned in the least with how we say his Son's name. He's concerned with the condition of our hearts. Might be why he had the New Testament written in the common gutteral language of trade in the First Century, koine Greek. Sure, it takes two words, agape and eleos, to fully get the meaning of checed across, but... It's what we have to work with. FYI... I greatly appreciate your help on this subject. I wonder if you are familiar with Dr. David Flusser, the preeminent scholar on the second temple period. He also was one of the main scholars of the Dead Sea Scrolls. He was was a secular Jew who was born in Germany and migrated to Israel. Almost all his work was written in German or Hebrew. He published a few books in English. Based on his research he determined that the name Yeshua was actually pronounced Yeshu since Jesus was from Galilee and Israel and at that time (first century) the “a” in Yeshua was silent from that particular region of Israel. I would simply like your opinion on the matter. This is in no way a criticism.
I don’t see that understanding reflected in any of the lexicons. Even so, “Yeshu” is a curse toward Yeshua in Judaism, meaning, “May his name be blotted out.” So I won’t be calling Him that.
@perfectwordTV Since you are unfamiliar with Dr. Flusser's work, it's understandable that it would not be in any Western lexicon. It is mentioned in the "Biblical Archeological Review" which is considered a scholarly and authoritative source. The reason why Dr. Flusser wrote so few publications in English was due to his distain for "Western scholars" who knew very little about Jewish customs and culture. Additionally, I presented no criticism of this individual's analysis. If you are accussing me of "changing a single Tidle" of God's Word you need to apologize to me. Lastly, Yeshu was a common name in Israel at that time and it absolutely didn't mean "May his name be blotted out". Of course, if you are referring to me, then you are in danger of His judgment.
No matter what , in English it's pronounced JESUS ! It's a translation of the Greek name Iesous not the Hebrew name Yeshua . If it was Yeshua in Hebrew it would still not be pronounced in English Yeshua it would be Joshua . If you are speaking in Hebrew fine , but English speakers should not be using that name as it's not his name in English . Even after receiving your video BCP#61 I conclude that Jesus name might be pronounced Yehoshua instead of Yahshua, but I see no reason to change the spelling from יהושוע to ישוע.

The whole reason the masoretes created the vowel pointing system was so that pronunciation of Biblical Hebrew would be preserved. So there’s no reason to assume that.

I do have a question, a lot of people are starting to call The Lord’s name: YAHUAH (Yahoo-ugh) like Benjamin Netanyahu (net-on-yahoo). But it’s supposed to be pronounced ‘YAH-WAY’ (YAHWEH). The Lord’s tetragramaton is: YHVH (Yod Hey Vav Hey), but is His name spelled YAHUAH or YAHWEH? No ancient word begins with Yah...they end with Yah, but start with Yeho...there are 3 theophoric parts to the divine name Ye, Yeho and ah...yeshuah, yehoshua etc
2:00 we see the word yasha (which means 'to save') is the root of Yashua. Why then do you change the 'ah' sound from yasha to an 'eh' sound? And not just add an 'u' with the vav thats now included. Yah-shua seems more logical to me than Yeh-shua. The only thing that has changed from yasha to YashUa is the U, whats your reasoning to change the sound to an 'eh' with the Yod? I think logic shows that should remain 'ah'.

I am a gentile, It is very hard for gentiles anyways to understand the real and depth full meaning of word of God, especially when language barrier comes in. I have this complain with our elder brothers in faith Yashar'ael; nothing against Khazars(as possibly they don't care)... the complaint is that why the true name of our Savior was not defended for centuries by true Israelis ? Why hellenization was allowed to creep in? That true name 'Yahoshua' has all the power and authority as father has bestowed everything upon his beloved son who fulfilled his will ! NOW, for all us who can't even give respect to our Father and the son by taking his true name, how then the bigger tasks could be given to us by Father Yah? It is written (Matthew 28:18) that name has the all the power and authority in Heaven and Earth bestowed under his Son's name(true name, not hellenized one). Imagine so many churches today taking hellenized name, so even they all pray but we don't see the power of church like it used to be when Yahoshua's disciples lead the church. Since the Christian teachings were intended for all mankind after the first 3.5 years had passed during which only fleshly Jews were permitted entry, the Biblical names of people, and even God, have to modify according to the language of the believer.

I have questions about the biblical feasts. The Torah stated that we should not deviate from the instructions. Can all the feasts be observed according to the instructions? If not, why do messianic community still mimic them? I think God has suspended the celebration until the millennial kingdom.
If you are Christian, Romans 14 and 15 speak of this. And Colossians 2 with focus on Colossians 2:16 -- "Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath."

I merely pointed out that Christian scripture says one should do what his level of faith allows. Some will continue the feasts and some will not -- according to their faith. And both are acceptable.
@@ulusalani There are sort of gray areas in the Bible wherein every believers should decide what their own halacha would be, and there are explicit commandments that should only be observed as instructed. I think the biblical feasts have very specific instructions to be followed like what kind of animals should be prepared and how and when and where to eat them.
But the funny thing about pronunciation of vowels like ah and uh, you went and sounded the whole time like you could’ve been saying, yuh-shua or even yah-shua. This is why there are vowel shifts in languages.

Now, that is certainly one opinion. It is just that an opinion. Using the meseratic vowel point, the problem is that the vowel points are tainted and you can't trust them because they have intentionally change the vowel points numerous times in the texts to get them to say what they want them to say. The meseratic vowel markings have intentionally changed the vowel mark on "the name" to the markings for Adonai, to hide it. Yah not Yeh. Yahu not Yehu. In the long form Yahushua Study it out without the tainted masoretic vowel markings.
It seems that you know hebrew fairly well and that is why you should consider to the name ישועה just adding the יה at the beginning Ex 23:21 clearly demands that יהוה be included, all four letters of the name also remembering that yeshua was the name of a kohen in Ezdra 3:2 and as it is written in the book of Acts 4:12 there is no other name under heaven given to mankind when you compile all these quotes then יהשועה Yahshuah is a more acceptable and it will be YAH salvation and there is no contradiction with any written quote
Wait - you spelled the name with both a yod-tsere and a yod-shwa; was this intentional? I've only ever seen it written with a shwa, even in the Tanakh.
I'm still uncertain what you are referring to. "Yeshua" uses the yud-tzere every time in the video. "y'shuah," which is a different word ("salvation"), uses the yud-shwa. This is the way we find each of these words in Scripture. Hope that helps!

Jesus spoke Aramaic and in the Western Aramaic/Syriac languages, the ones closest to what Jesus would have spoke, his name is pronounced "Yeshu' ", not "Yashu" or "Yahoshu". There are still Christians descended from the first church in Antioch, all we had to do was ask them. 😂
Need to make another video on why Yeshua isn't pronounced Yahusha. I know enough Hebrew to make me dangerous. 😆 I do know that Yahusha doesn't make sense grammatically but not enough to explain it. There is a growing contingent that insists on this pronunciation.

Nah, come on man, the Bible is full of language and acts and analogies that speak to the people of the time, do you think the Jewish people pronounced Moses the same way he did, 1400 years later..don’t be foolish, the first Pentecost shows us that language is but a means to communicate truth, no matter how it’s said, God understands. There's a reason there's not a single instance of a name containing 'sh' in the entire KJV New Testament. There's a reason Strong's 2424 is 'iēsous' and according to the Strong's Concordance it's pronounced ' ee-ay-sooce' '. You don't get to tell me Jesus isn't the pronunciation because the "J sound didn't exist" yet insist his name is pronounced with an 'sh' sound when the original Greek name that the Apostles first penned doesn't have an 'SH' sound. You can't have it both ways. And if you can, then I can insist his name is pronounced as Jesus by your same logic. So what's really different between us? What's different is the KJV is as infallibly correct as the original Greek and Hebrew its translated from. The KJV is equally divinely inspired, and it can now be proven mathematically.
@@perfectwordTV You can see in this case that he clearly doesn't know how this word was pronounced in Biblical, or late ancient, times. The exact written spelling of words in Hebrew (Nikkud) came only in the Middle Ages. In the BDB it says that the word is pronounced "yaw-shah" which means he read YA in the Ashkenazi, Yiddish affected, pronunciation. This is probably not how late Second Temple Jews pronounced the word.
Now when you ignore the modern nikkud and use Hebrew before it be came Aramaic you get Yahusha. you can get over 100 witnesses to the name Yahuah or Yahu by looking at how the names in the Bible are written in Hebrew. The Jews know today that NetenYahu is spelled at the end with Yod Hay Vav. Also, Judah is pronounced “Yahudah” remove the dalet and you get Yahuah. The dalet adds the meaning to “praise Yahuah” in the name Yahudah.
This is why I think the Hebrew name of Jesus is Yi/Yehusha and not Yeshua. First of all, we need to know a little bit of Hebrew to see it. These lists of words/phrases that we need to know: Salvation - ישועה (yeshuah) He saves - ישע (Yasha) My God saves - אלישע (Elisha) YHWH saves - יהושע ) YHWsha) But then, you might ask, how did we get the name Jesus/Yesus/Yesu? This is a stupid waste of time. The name or translation is not what is important. Having a proper Christology is where you should put your energy. The name can be many expressions because of transliteration into other dialects. It's the concept that matters. That is why the Bible warns against false Christ's. It does not warn against false pronunciations. I''ve spent much time around Hebrew Roots people. So far, I have never met one of them who has a proper Christology. But they will argue all day over the pronunciation. This problem in logic is called the word concept fallacy.

Thank you for your explanation. I have to disagree with you. First of All, the name of the Hebrew Messiah is the same Name as the Father, YHWH - Yahuah. We see our Messiah several times in the Tanakh refer to as Yahuah. For example. Isa 47:4 Our Redeemer, יהוה of hosts is His Name, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ěl. Your error stems from the fact, you are led by the influence of the Masoretic vowel points. Which was brought in to hide the Father’s true Name. But looking at Scripture itself, we see the following. Yahusha said: Joh 5:43 “I have come in My Father’s Name …” Why did He say that? Because He and the Father are ONE! Joh 10:30 “I and My Father are one.” They are ONE and so they have the same Name. So, the Redeemer Yahuah, our Saviour’s Name became “Yahuah saves”, which “Yahusha” in Hebrew: Mat 1:21 “And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save His people from their sins.” Yeshua means salvation as you have said, thus it is not a name. So let’s look at why nor YES but Yah. We must go back to the Father’s Name Yahuah. It is the same name as the tribe of Yahudah, The tribe our Messiah was born in, with the added letter “D”. The Dalet means “door” and Yahusha is our door to salvation: Joh 10:9 “I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture. We are saved by the Name Yahuah, which is the only name that saves. Act 2:21 ‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.’ We see the first part of His Name confirmed in … Psa 68:4 Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts, By His Name Yah, And exult before Him. BY His Name “Yah”. Hence the reason when we praise Him we do NOT say Hallelulord or hallelujesus or halleluYesh BUT we do say …. HalleluYAH!!!! Praising both the Father and Son by the ONLY name that saves! Act 4:12 “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.” There is a deeper study I can share. 1) The truth is important. 2) The name “Yeshua” has meaning. It means “salvation.” “Jesus” is far removed from that meaning. “Jesus” is not a Jewish name. 3) There’s no dispute that it is “Yeshua.” It’s in every lexicon. It’s obvious from the preserved Hebrew manuscripts. Those who dispute it are making up a pronunciation not supported by the Hebrew in order to fulfill a rationalized doctrine.
I say “HalleluYah” and I say “Yeshua” because I can read. You don’t get to pretend that Hebrew words are pronounced a certain way regardless of how they’re spelled. Language can’t be interpreted through theology or wishful thinking.

Dude takes a long way to contradict himself. In Aramaic, which was the every day vernacular in first century Judea, (Hebrew was used for scripture and formal occasions…) it is “Hesh’ua”, as it was pronounced in “The Passion of the Christ.” But we speak English, so I’m sticking with “Jesus”.
It is not Yeshua in Hebrew. Yeshua is the Aramaic form. The Hebrew is spelled exactly as Joshua which is YaHshua or YaHoshua. Your not picking on YaHshua or YaHoshua being legit is irrelevant. We cannot subtract the Hey out of the godly offspring’s name because the Hebrew letter Hey, means & represents the Holy Spirit who brings revelation. But sin nature gets activated by some demonic enhanced action through various flesh that kills each of spirits of innocence and we must be regenerated through deliverance or begin to Enter into the salvation process. YaH is the shortened form of their divine name of the plural Godhead family that our families are designed after; male plus female produces offspring, that is supposed to be godly with us humans. So many people miss this fact and don’t understand this about how Elohim (God) works and functions as 3/3’s in 1 whole family. Yah delivers is the only name and action that must be done under the sun in which all humans and animals must be delivered. And shua means the act of delivering or saving. Yah knows that we must expweocne their salvation or nothing else about God matters because we will be eternally lost away from all else of God if we don’t get saved from the sin nature and its punishment in hell forever. It’s simple yet can also be complex, depending on how deep you want to dig and study every word of God out and get revelation through prayer and experiences by 2 or more witnesses to confirm every word of God and fact of reality. Our resolution for truth must first come from proper studies of language with grammar & definitions and learning to discern and hear and obey correctly and completely, the voice of God, who will communicate to us about any and every issue or desire or thought that we have if we only take enough time and effort to bring each matter to YaH in prayer then wait for answers.

I think that may be largely true. Our ministry is not Hebrew Roots; however, we do have some constituents that use “Yahshua” and the like. I believe these people are well-intentioned but simply misinformed. So we produced this video (and the full episode) in order to educate and correct the error.

I made a video why it IS pronounced Yahshua, but in saying that all three forms appear in the archeological record and in Scripture Yahushua/Yehoshua (יהושוע), Yahshua (יהשוע), Y'shua (ישוע).
The extremele abbreviated version was common at the time of the Messiah, but I still prefer the full spelling with the Trigrammaton included.
Interestingly, you mentioned that the name Yehoshua only appears twice in the TaNaKh, yet that is if you lean on the Masoretic Text. There are a further six (so far) in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The Masoretes also had a habit of removing the Divine Name יהוה from the Texts and there are over 120 instances proven from the DSS again where the Tetragrammaton has been substituted with Elohim or Adonai.
What you prefer is irrelevant. Learn Hebrew!

Yes, "Yahushua" means Yah delivers. the Strong's number in Matthew 1:21 is from G2424 which Strong's says comes from H3091 "Yehoshua" The same name Joshua son of Nun is called. The name Yeshua is actually a contraction that shows up later in the OT H3442, 1Chr 24:11 for example. H3091 has two spellings, יהושע and יהושוע. The latter only used once in the Hebrew OT (Tanach). This one, however has a special meaning. Since the Shin (ש) is used by sages as THE letter that means Torah, the Torah is betseen two Vavs or nails.

I greatly appreciate your help on this subject. I wonder if you are familiar with Dr. David Flusser, the preeminent scholar on the second temple period. He also was one of the main scholars of the Dead Sea Scrolls. He was was a secular Jew who was born in Germany and migrated to Israel. Almost all his work was written in German or Hebrew. He published a few books in English. Based on his research he determined that the name Yeshua was actually pronounced Yeshu since Jesus was from Galilee and Israel and at that time (first century) the “a” in Yeshua was silent from that particular region of Israel. I would simply like your opinion on the matter. This is in no way a criticism.
I don’t see that understanding reflected in any of the lexicons. Even so, “Yeshu” is a curse toward Yeshua in Judaism, meaning, “May his name be blotted out.” So I won’t be calling Him that.

It is mentioned in the "Biblical Archeological Review" which is considered a scholarly and authoritative source. The reason why Dr. Flusser wrote so few publications in English was due to his distain for "Western scholars" who knew very little about Jewish customs and culture. Additionally, I presented no criticism of this individual's analysis. If you are accussing me of "changing a single Tidle" of God's Word you need to apologize to me. Lastly, Yeshu was a common name in Israel at that time and it absolutely didn't mean "May his name be blotted out". Of course, if you are referring to me, then you are in danger of His judgment.

No ancient word begins with Yah...they end with Yah, but start with Yeho...there are 3 theophoric parts to the divine name Ye, Yeho and ah...yeshuah, yehoshua etc
2:00 we see the word yasha (which means 'to save') is the root of Yashua.
Why then do you change the 'ah' sound from yasha to an 'eh' sound? And not just add an 'u' with the vav thats now included.

I have questions about the biblical feasts. The Torah stated that we should not deviate from the instructions. Can all the feasts be observed according to the instructions? If not, why do messianic community still mimic them? I think God has suspended the celebration until the millennial kingdom.

There are sort of gray areas in the Bible wherein every believers should decide what their own halacha would be, and there are explicit commandments that should only be observed as instructed. I think the biblical feasts have very specific instructions to be followed like what kind of animals should be prepared and how and when and where to eat them.
But the funny thing about pronunciation of vowels like ah and uh, you went and sounded the whole time like you could’ve been saying, yuh-shua or even yah-shua. This is why there are vowel shifts in languages.

I don't see what you're referring to. "Yeshua" uses the same pointing (yud-tzere) throughout the video. Same way as Tanakh. ie. Ezra 5:2.

I'm still uncertain what you are referring to. "Yeshua" uses the yud-tzere every time in the video. "y'shuah," which is a different word ("salvation"), uses the yud-shwa. This is the way we find each of these words in Scripture. Hope that helps!

There's a reason there's not a single instance of a name containing 'sh' in the entire KJV New Testament. There's a reason Strong's 2424 is 'iēsous' and according to the Strong's Concordance it's pronounced ' ee-ay-sooce' '. You don't get to tell me Jesus isn't the pronunciation because the "J sound didn't exist" yet insist his name is pronounced with an 'sh' sound when the original Greek name that the Apostles first penned doesn't have an 'SH' sound.
You can't have it both ways. And if you can, then I can insist his name is pronounced as Jesus by your same logic. So what's really different between us? What's different is the KJV is as infallibly correct as the original Greek and Hebrew its translated from. The KJV is equally divinely inspired, and it can now be proven mathematically.
There is no such word in Hebrew as "Yasha". Perhaps you mean "Yesha" (also written ישע) -which means salvation.

The exact written spelling of words in Hebrew (Nikkud) came only in the Middle Ages. In the BDB it says that the word is pronounced "yaw-shah" which means he read YA in the Ashkenazi, Yiddish affected, pronunciation. This is probably not how late Second Temple Jews pronounced the word.
Now when you ignore the modern nikkud and use Hebrew before it be came Aramaic you get Yahusha. you can get over 100 witnesses to the name Yahuah or Yahu by looking at how the names in the Bible are written in Hebrew. The Jews know today that NetenYahu is spelled at the end with Yod Hay Vav. Also, Judah is pronounced “Yahudah” remove the dalet and you get Yahuah. The dalet adds the meaning to “praise Yahuah” in the name Yahudah.

This is a stupid waste of time. The name or translation is not what is important. Having a proper Christology is where you should put your energy. The name can be many expressions because of transliteration into other dialects. It's the concept that matters. That is why the Bible warns against false Christ's. It does not warn against false pronunciations. I''ve spent much time around Hebrew Roots people. So far, I have never met one of them who has a proper Christology. Thank you for your explanation. I have to disagree with you. First of All, the name of the Hebrew Messiah is the same Name as the Father, YHWH - Yahuah. We see our Messiah several times in the Tanakh refer to as Yahuah. For example.
Isa 47:4 Our Redeemer, יהוה of hosts is His Name, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ěl.
Your error stems from the fact, you are led by the influence of the Masoretic vowel points. Which was brought in to hide the Father’s true Name.
But looking at Scripture itself, we see the following. Yahusha said:
Joh 5:43 “I have come in My Father’s Name …”
Why did He say that? Because He and the Father are ONE!
Joh 10:30 “I and My Father are one.”
They are ONE and so they have the same Name. So, the Redeemer Yahuah, our Saviour’s Name became “Yahuah saves”, which “Yahusha” in Hebrew:
Mat 1:21 “And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save His people from their sins.”
Yeshua means salvation as you have said, thus it is not a name.
