Thank you for describing how Joshua and Jesus are the same Greek word. This was so helpful to me. I have started trying to learn Hebrew and I really like how you put the Hebrew and the transliteration on the screen for us to see. Thank you
It was the masculine yeshuah that was the lightbulb for me! I always wondered why the traditional Messianic pronunciation was Yeshua. Thank you. Now subbed.
Shabbat Shalom, Kevin. I pray you and your family are well. Thank you for the edifying upload BCP 61, very much appreciated as always, dear brother. HalleluYah. Have a richly blessed sabbath. In Messiah Yeshua. David (UK)
That’s a more severe reaction than I have. “Jesus” is still a legitimate linguistic descendant of Yeshua, from Hebrew, through Greek, then Latin, into English. I have a video about this also. ua-cam.com/video/IxiOaIvKutg/v-deo.html
Agreed, I guess “skin crawl” was too extreme of a word for my inner reaction. I also think it comes from a place that when most people use Jesus, it’s at the exclusion of Old Testament and the Jewishness of the scriptures. Thanks for commenting

Among other issues, I find it peculiar that you felt it "wacky," "absurd" and "untrue" that the Name of YHWH was "in" the Name of the Messiah, when it seems to me that His quote in John 5:43 was referencing the "Angel/Messenger" after Mosheh: "Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for My Name is in him." i have to wonder… what is a “Messianic Jew”? one is only a “Jew” if they are either in Judaism, or can fully trace their lineage to the tribe of Judah. if one is following Messiah, one cannot be in Judaism, for Judaism fully rejects Jesus/Yahshua/Yeshua. alternative suggestion: "Messianic Hebrew"... although, those two terms are somewhat if not entirely redundant, for “Hebrew” refers to one who crossed over from paganism to following Messiah in both the OT & NT.
A Messianic Jew is a Jewish person who believes in the Messiah Yeshua. Paul, who became a believer in Acts 9, says in Acts 21:39 and 22:3, “I am a Jew.” Being Jewish doesn’t mean you are an adherent to Judaism. There are Jewish Buddhists, Jewish atheists, etc. Jewish is an ethnicity. (Incidentally, Paul was from the tribe of Benjamin (Romans 11:1).
