    Agreed, I went half a size down and I still don't have good heel lock down. I wish they would put more structure on the heel collar and make the heel pillows more bolstered. Better laces and lacing system as well as gusset the tongue. I bought this along with a Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 and I definitely enjoy the feet, feel, and lockdown on it. 🤙

    Love, love this shoe, especially for temporuns and sprints. Only problem.. just the tongue was sliding towards my toes when sprinting. I adjusted the lacing by going back (crossing over during this from left lace to right and right lace to the left) from the (normal, not runners knot) last hole to this loop that is part of the tongue, then making a knot on top of this loop and finishing with a normal lace tie. Fixed, now it is really perfect and no heel slipping anymore either

    Love the channel! This shoe blew me away.. So soft, yet so fast. Some of the best running of my life
    Recommend a runners loop to lock down the heel.

    I’m loving the Boston 12. Smooth. Sometimes I would be going easy then I look at the pace. I was like wow. Effortless. I think I am bigger fan of the rod system than plate. The rod has more give and more natural feeling.

    The Boston 12 does sing once that heel gets cushy. I remember the run when that happened to my 12s too.
    I just got the Adizero SL and have to say that I’m pretty excited for it and may use it more than my 12s. The 12s just run a little too long and baggy in the forefoot for me. I like the SL snug.

    I go 11us in all adizero shoes... Takumi Sen 8, Prime X strung and Boston 12.
    I'm 11.5 in saucony and new balance etc.
    Definitely size down.

      i got away with switching to a thicker insole and wearing thicker socks, but boston 12 definitely runs large

    I went and got a pair of laces on Amazon, and it totally fixed all of my upper issues. With the stock laces, I got a ton of lace bite and felt like I was swimming in the shoe.

      @@supwell I went with my normal running shoe size to fit a thicker insole inside. Saves it from feeling too firm, did the same thing with the takumi sen. That shoe feels more direct and high quality with the good foam and thin outsole, but not enough stack or a stable enough geometry for longer runs. 6 ft 200 lbs

    i don't have the funds to purchase a supershoe and i have a marathon coming up. would you recommend the boston 12s for a marathon? i was also thinking maybe the saucony endorphin speed 3?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  6 місяців тому +2

      i wouldn't suggest the boston 12 as a marathon shoe for most people because it can be a little firm at certain paces and might not be the most comfortable at the end of the race. speed 3 and new balance sc trainer v2 would be my top choices for plated shoes that won't be $200+. if you're targeting below 3:45 finish time, you'll probably prefer the speed 3 because it's a little lighter weight and peppier. for a 4 hour finish or above, i'd suggest the sc trainer v2 because it's more comfortable and protective

    Nice vids man. Ive seen your gtx shoes review. Could you be so kind and make a set of gtx road (training?) shoes only? As a beginner I'd really appreciate it. Best regards from the Netherlands

    • @supwell
      @supwell  9 місяців тому

      thank you for the kind words! i'll add it to the video list and here are some suggestions in the meantime. for waterproof road running shoes i would suggest: hoka clifton 9 gtx (cushioned daily trainer), asics gel cumulus 25 gtx (cushioned daily trainer), nike pegasus shield (do-it-all daily trainer), saucony endorphin speed 3 runshield (for fast running), saucony triumph 20 runshield (max cushioned/recovery running). the nike and sauconys aren't goretex but they use a similar waterproof material

    What are thoughts on the Saucony endorphin pro4 any good

  • @willwilling4728

    I've got 60 miles or so on these shoes. I can't get the lock down right on my right foot. Stopped during the 1st 3 runs to relace. Now that they are broken in I still get a heel slip. Probably my narrow heel but still annoying. I've thought about folding the heel tab down inside the shoe to see if that helps.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  9 місяців тому

      same thing happens to me with the right shoe. yesterday i re-tied it three times during my warm up lol what finally worked yesterday was to keep it looser in the midfoot and crank the laces tighter at the top few holes. i also use the feetures light cushion socks which have some padding around the achilles. btw, our friend cellularsurfer in the comments below says he fixed the issue for him by buying softer laces on amazon, which he tightens without getting lace bite

    When a shoe is meant for training for a marathon does it mean I cannot run in it on the actual marathon? I am running my first marathon so I am a little confused. I have the pegasus 40 and I was thinking of using those aswell.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому

      You can definitely use these for both training and racing! Some people like to have a dedicated racing shoe if they are shooting to run a fast time, but it's not necessary. Another one I'd suggest is the Asics novablast 4. Check out my last video I just posted for all my racing picks - I also did a video a few weeks ago with my current favorite training shoes

    Nice vid!! I ran a 30km easy pace run in my Adizero SL's and my feet were very tired after that run. Is that normal? I dont do any strength workouts yet...I ONLY RUN LOL What do the Bostons give that an SL wont/cant over that long distance....30-42km?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  9 місяців тому +2

      feet tired after a long run is definitely normal! biggest difference between SL and boston is that boston is softer and has more energy return in it. feels a little more comfortable for longer runs and more at home for faster pace. i feel less tired after using the boston 12 than the adizero SL - that's the benefit of the boston 12's energy rods and lightstrike pro midsole upper layer

    • @ZaahirJappie
      @ZaahirJappie 9 місяців тому

      @supwell I can't explain the way my feet felt, but it wasn't pin and needles, neither was it a burn. Walking increased the sensation while running helped a bit, but it was tough. Is it just linked to a lack of strength training maybe?

  • @carlo-sacchi

    Do you suggest to run a full marathon with these shoes?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому

      They can definitely do a full race. I've taken them to 20 miles a few times and they were great. If you're buying a shoe to race a marathon though I would suggest the adios pro 3 from adidas - it's designed for that purpose and has more of that bouncy race day foam in it
